Comment: Chill and modern dining room. Easy to order with pics on menu. Just write what you want. Eggplant is a must!! Roasted and seasoned amazing. Giant oysters came out sizzling. Once they cooled it took multiple bites to finish each one. I will order more next time. Service was very attentive and good came out very fast.

Comment: We had an amazing time dining at Ai Ki Ya NYC! Great atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service. We ordered Sukiyaki & Soymilk nabe lunch, unagi don, pork katsu with miso sauce as well as potato salad. Everything was so good and tasty! My absolute favorite would be the pork katsu with miso sauce - crunchy & juice pork katsu dipped in sweet miso sauce. So perfect! 10/10 would recommend!

Comment: Chose this place specifically because their kitchen stays open late (12:30 AM) and I was very pleasantly surprised by how good the food is here! We ordered a large variety of items and everything tasted amazing and was cooked perfectly. The American Wagyu skewer was probably my favorite but the eel roll was also very good. The king dragon roll was also amazing and had gold leaf on top! I ordered the mango chuhai for my drink and it was delicious and had bits of fresh mango in it. Would definitely recommend this place for a late night snack/dinner and drinks.

Comment: I was searching for a sushi place in New York and this place happened to be close by. The food was great for how cheap it was and in Manhattan, quite a deal to be honest! Glad I stopped by this cute little restaurant. I would recommend it if you’re looking a quite a cheap and good sushi place. The shrimp tempura was my favourite sushi choice here.

Comment: It can get really loud in here as it seems popular with the young crowd. I had a few skewers but they honestly didn’t taste much different. I did like the chirashi bowl came with a little uni and had plenty of fish. The quality is reasonable but not amazing and the portion is large for the price. They have sushi to skewers and shabu so everyone should be happy to eat something there

Comment: Cute lil izakaya! We (a party of 2) walked in at 6PM and put our name on the waiting list and waited for about 30 min.The menu is long and the drinks are cheap especially during happy hour. We saw lots of people order nabe but we opted to order a bit of everything.Yakitori (not pictured) - kinda small per skewer but it was tasty and came out quicklyYaki mochi - I ordered this because I was curious. And if you like kewpie, it’s a wonderfully chewy vehicle for mayo.Mentaiko udon - ITS WHIPPED CREAM ON TOP. That was so fun. I wish it was a bit spicy though.Beef tongue don - this was a whole meal and it was delicious. The egg was a lovely addition.5/5 - service is friendly, food is good, atmosphere is cozy, the interior is super cute.I feel like the ideal group size is 4. And you just come here a little early with some good friends or a double date to snack and drink fruity highballs.

Had grilled tongue, which was prepared good, but a bit too much sause inhibiting the taste and fell of the tongue, e-Dakota oroshi, which was too dry leaving no taste for the octopus itself, and seafood upon, which was very tasty.The house sake, which was pretty good, was not chilled enough. Would be better if it was in the fridge.Overall good value for your money.Recommend.

Other than that, the portion is great.The fried Mochi is a bit too crunchy, but the yakitoris are really good!The staffs here are also really friendly, but the store is a bit narrow in arrangement and tables are close to each other (as classrooms).Still, a great izakaya in KTown!

Food was served fast and hot, depending upon what you order.The grilled oysters were fresh and abd flavourful, quail egg and bacon skewers are addictive. Deep fried sticks such as cheese, avacado and fish ball went well with the 2.00 beers- 10 oz. Did i say $2.00 beers!!Looking forward to going back.

Comment: Loved this place! We had the hakata motsu nabe, american wagyu yakitori, pork belly with enoki mushroom yakitori, chicken thigh + scallion yakitori, fried mochi, and chicken wing yakitori. The nabe was amazing - the intestines were so chewy and fatty. At first the soup wasn’t that good but after we let it cook for a bit longer, the broth was so flavorful! It also came with complimentary matcha ice cream and udon. The pork belly with emoji mushroom yakitori and chicken thigh with scallion yakitori had amazing sauce - highly recommend these two yakitori![food insta: @strwbrrryboba :)]

Comment: I went to this place a few weeks ago on a Wednesday evening for dinner. It was pretty empty at the time so we were seated quickly. The interior is quirky, the deep inside has a slightly different feel from the more bar type seating towards the front, but regardless the decor was nice and the restaurant overall seemed very clean. We tried the more typical izakaya fare instead of the nabe, but I would definitely come back to try the nabe. We got quite a few different kinds of skewers, both deep fried and normal and all were very yummy! We also had a few smaller apps and a couple drinks. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted good, with the exception of the takoyaki which was swimming in sauce, in this case was not actually good, there was just way too much sauce. Overall this place is pretty decent, albeit a little pricey. One weird thing though is that the chef had prepped cotton candy for this one nabe menu and just left them hanging out uncovered…? LOL so I feel when I come try nabe, unless I see them make the cotton candy right then and there, I would probably go for a different kind of nabe.

Hence, he was super excited to know Ai Ki Ya, which is newly opened in Korea Town, serves authentic Kushikatsu and can’t wait to give it a try.The interior design of Ai Ki Ya is adorable and amusing with plenty of Japanese decorations. The staff was friendly and introduced their popular dishes patiently. The options on the menu were various and we had 4 appetizers, dozens of grilled & fried skewers, 2 sushi rolls and Candy Floss Sukiyaki to share with a group of four.The food was not super authentic but pretty decent with its portion & price. Our favorites were the Karaage, which was juicy inside with crispy layer and the Sukiyaki, which was served in a fancy way with hung & melted cotton candy.
