Comment: When visiting LI, we often come here to eat or order out. Delish either way but I truly love the atmosphere at the restaurant! Staff is friendly, very engaging, the food is AMAZING. Legit haven’t found sushi as good. Loving the tuna salad appetizer. Try it all.

Comment: Came here for dinner on a Friday night. If you’re dining in on the weekends, make sure to reserve a table because it was a full house. Our sushi took about an hour to get to us after ordering, but the waitress there was super sweet and kept us informed on our order without us having to ask about it.I personally love Aji! The sushi here is always fresh, they have a great variety of sushi, sashimi and cooked dishes, drinks looked pretty good (I don’t drink so idk lol) and it’s just another highlight of Main Street. I absolutely recommend it, but make time if you go on a weekend because it’s almost always busy.

I can say with 100% certainty that I have yet to experience this level of customer service. Our waitress was amazing! You could see how busy she was yet she was handling every task with ease. We had the pleasure of sitting at the bar and I’ve got to admit, watching her dominate made our experience that much better. We only had two hours before we needed to be back home for work, and let me tell you, I was HIGHLY impressed with how fast the food came out. Not only did the food come out quickly, it was also amazingly amazing 🤩. The ribs were to “die” for and I’ve never had a juicier steak! I don’t do calamari often but I would order this each and every time I visit this restaurant, for sure! The vegetable dumplings and the spicy edamame is also definitely worth trying! I am only here to visit and coming back to this restaurant before our departure is number one on our departure bucket list!

It came with a miso soup or salad, I asked for the salad but got the soup, I didnt say anything because I love miso soup and, actually it worked out better because my boyfriend doesnt really care too much for the salad, so I ate his. They play mainstream music. After calling several sushi spots, this is one of the only restaurants that did not turn us away because we were within an hour of closing time.They gave us a bottle of wine on the way out which was delicious and very very nice of them to do! I would highly recommend this place! One of my favorite top three sushi spots on Long Island. Keep up the fantastic job! Awesome!!! Well be visiting again really soon!

Comment: Aji 53 was an answer to Kotobuki...they were the next generation of sushi places and have enjoyed dominance as Bay Shore’s go to place for a few years now...problem is, they have gotten lazy and don’t provide the consistently fresh product you can get in Babylon...feels like a matter of time before Aji 53, once a Bay Shore favorite, becomes just another place on Main Street.Consistency is king, I think, and I am not sure that Aji cares that much anymore...a death knell waiting to be tolled unless they get back to the things that made them great.

Comment: I came here with my friend for her Birthday, and we were not disappointed. We got the Aji Sandwhich and some Tako (octopus) sashimi as appitizers. Both were fantastic. For dinner we got the Mango Madness and Sunshine rolls, along with an order of pineapple and seafood fried rice. They were all delicious and filling, though the rice itself wasnt all that flavorful. Our drinks were delicious too, but they came out to 12 each which is a bit pricey. For dessert we had the fried oreos and mochi. The fried oreos were FANTASTIC, but the mochi was actually kinda gross, except for the vanilla flavored one. Despite the rice and mochi, all in all it was great; and the prices arent too bad for a sushi place like this one. I plan to come back very soon!

Other than Nisen sushi which comes very close to being the best but falls slightly short in second place. Furthermore, Aji 53 has an expansive menu which can accommodate those with particular eating regimens or dietary needs. Aji 53s venue is chic, modern, and all members of the restaurants staff are friendly and provide excellent service.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. the décor is very modern & the lighting is a bit dim for the booths but, it feels very private so I didnt mind the darkness. Our waitress was wonderful! She was very attentive. I was so happy I picked this place to celebrate my special day. the food is reasonably priced & everything was delicious! would totally recommend it for any occasion.

We had 8 pm reservations on a Saturday and didnt get seated until 9:10 pm! This happens ALL THE TIME-- probably 4-5 times now & esp. on the weekends, and there is no place to wait! The place is so over crowded and sometimes you are standing right over someone who is trying to eat-- which is really awkward! The bar is too crowded to wait there and there is no foyer area. The hostesses will tell you youre next... but really youre waiting for another 40 minutes... The wait staff is great and the food comes out pretty quick, but WHY make reservations? Maybe they need to spread out the reservation times or something. We will go back... and give it one more shot. BUT... I hope they realize they are turning people away!

We first tried Aji as delivery because one of our neighbors raved it was better than Kotobuki in Babylon Village, which we frequent quite often. Food was mediocre. Thought maybe it would be better to have a sit down dinner, so tried again last night. Another disappointment. Ive never seen a sushi menu with so many fried options. Portions were small, fish was overcooked, couldve had the same or better out of a box of frozen fish sticks. Its a crime what they do to a piece of Chilean sea bass. Sushi combinations were just plain weird.Sorry, wont be going back. Kotobuki is still our local favorite.
