Comment: BEST SUSHI WEVE EVER HAD. They have the freshest sushi weve ever had and weve had a lot of sushi. Akanomis sushi is better than even some of the best sushi restaurants in Manhattan. The service was very good. The only thing was that the lighting was very dim, making it hard to see the beautiful, artful presentations that are served there. We will go there all the way from Orange County just for their sushi.

Comment: We had cauliflower tempura (which was specials for that day), Tomo roll and couple of rolls on the regular menu. Everything was good 👍! The inside of the restaurant is pretty clean and nice setting, the servers were all nice and friendly. Its a little more expensive than other asian restaurants in the area but its worth paying extra. Well definitely go back soon.

Thats my go-to for taking it to a barbecue or my addition to a side for a family gathering and everybody loves it. Quick easy worth every penny. And everybody there knows us. This time I were alone here and I finished it pretty quickly, and the dishes coming in are pretty quickly.Food here are so perfect. I love sashimi so much and I’m easily to feel cold and uncomfortable for stomach. But it never ever happens here after I had the sashimi, even with cold water. This is the only place that made this happen.The fish got designed too. Perfect bite with perfect wasabi with little tomato rabbit.They offer different desserts seasonally. Last time it was winter and they offered fruits. This time it’s summer and they offered amazing designed ice cream.It’s a love, care and tasty restaurant. Also saw once I reached the store that the price listed on the menu is the cash price and payment by other methods is actually 4% more. Comment: My husband and I used to live in walking distance to Akanomi, so we ate there as often as we could afford it! The food and service were consistently fantastic. We recently visited their new space and its very sleek and spacious! Theres a great cocktail menu, as well as a variety of options for sake, beer, and wine (I love their plum wine). The sushi was, as always, fresh and flavorful, and the service was exceptional. Even the red bean ice cream I tried for dessert was delicious! Sadly, we are no longer walking distance from Akanomi, but we will return time and time again because its worth the drive!

Comment: Akanomi gets a bonus point for its location. Far from where you might reasonably expect to find decent sushi.The freshness and quality of the fish can be hit or miss. The texture is sometimes too soft, likely thanks to the thawing process (virtually all sashimi is frozen at some point during the shipping process - even the high grade tuna only available in Japan). However, the rolls can be interesting and they are beautifully presented.Drinks list is limited with only one Japanese beer (Sapporo) available in 2 sizes. They also have Tsingtao, a nod to the Chinese owners. A handful of sake is also available, including unfiltered nigori.Foodwise, the kani (crab) salad has a perfect mix of flavors and textures. The haru maki (fried spring rolls) is good too - peppery and Chinese like, but still tasty. Edamame, of course, are good - and a big potion for the price.Look for the Tengu up on the wall. In Japan, Tengu is a long nosed god with a red face, but the fun part is in how he came to be. Rural Japanese in south Japan came across a shipwrecked sailor living in the woods. His sun burned face and big European nose made them think he was a god and the legend of Tengu was born.Kampai!

Comment: This is the best sushi in the capital region. If it wasnt so good, I would keep it a secret and to myself. Environmental is suitable for a date, but I prefer a relaxed lunch or an early dinner before heading elsewhere. Awesome staff.

Comment: My son and I go on our date here when daddy is working. Always greeted by warm smiles and welcome back. They remember my son is a vegetarian so no eel sauce on the sweet potato rolls. (Which are by far the best we have ever had.) very accommodating and delightful! We always leave smiling and satisfied. Wonderful food and people. A gem in Guilderland! And a reason to go to Guilderland!

Comment: I have literally so much amazement with this business. Best tempura sushi and spider rolls I have ever had! Amazing friendly staff, very family oriented. Such a perfect sit down setting that is not overwhelming. If your new to the area please check out this Japanese restaurant, its the best!

Comment: We had lunch here with my mother and 8 year old son. The food was delicious, presentation beautiful and service amazing! Definitely family friendly! I highly recommend the sweet potato roll.
