Comment: I always enjoy dinner at akebono. The sushi has always been great, as is the service. Patty makes each visit special. You cant go wrong with any of their rolls. As for apps, we always get the spicy tuna tartar, but recently we also tried their garlic edamame. It was delicious and well probably be ordering two appetizers from now on.

I definitely stop for a meal. Even we came 30 minutes earlier than the open time. The open the doors on time and everything was ready to serve. I have a great meal with warm rice sake and I enjoy everything. Great staff real amazing people so I have to come back in order to because I want to give them a better review take some pictures and video because what I experience there guys you should not only read about it but see what is inside great place I give them a five big stars I highly recommend this restaurant.

I used to live in NYC, and enjoyed eating at some of the citys best restaurants. Returning to Long Island for a night out was often a bit disappointing - the service and quality could never really compare.. until I found Akebono. The restaurant itself is quite unassuming, and doesnt try to be something its not. It is the experience of eating at Akebono that really stands out. They have THE BEST service on Long Island. They owners, Patty & Dave, are absolutely awesome and always go above and beyond to ensure that you enjoy your meal. They are some of the most gracious and kind restaurant owners Ive met. They dont need fancy decor to keep you coming back, it is the warmness, attentiveness, and high quality fish. They do have some really great sushi fish, the owner selects it himself to ensure the highest quality and it shows. I suggest you try some of the less popular fish like spanish mackerel, sweet shrimp, & striped bass. I cant wait until the craziness of the past year is behind us so I can go sit at the sushi bar and hang out all night. But until then, go check out their take out! If you want something a bit different or special give them a call, they are the best and will hook you up.

It was such a cozy atmosphere, very relaxed environment but top notch food. The sushi bar is visible from most of the tables so you can see the sushi chef work which is cool. Also saw quite a few regulars coming in on a Monday (maybe it was Tuesday actually) night which are usually slower nights for restaurants so you know a lot of people like this place!

Comment: I just have to say Akebono is one of the best sushi joints around the greater Huntington area! I have had a variety of rolls and always great (and the prices are awesome too). The owner is engaging and brings the spirit as well.
