Comment: Huge variety of specialty rolls and entrees. We only waited 15 minutes at 6 pm and the restaurant was busy. They seated 4 of us at a huge 6 person booth in the back and it was perfect and not noisy.Hibachi restaurant with bar seating. Full sushi production on display as you walk thru restaurant.Hard to pick between all the Japanese options and Curry.I chose yellow shrimp curry which had tons of vegetables; onions -peppers - eggplant and potatoes. Portions are very large and shareable.Our server had to keep refilling water and was attentive.Prices are reasonable with a full entree between $16-$20. Specialty rolls are about $15-18 but regular rolls are under $10.We will be back!

Comment: Really cool interior, we sat at the koi pond table. The hibachi area is right behind it though and gets pretty noisey, so sit further inside if you are on a date or something.Sushi was pretty good. Rice could have been a little fresher, but the fish was great. Presentation was also excellent.Place was very busy when we went, and the service was still very good.

Comment: I got the Aquarium sushi and my friend got the Mongolian beef. Both were delicious. Very nice atmosphere and there are separate areas for hibachi and regular dining, so I was happy. Thank you very much 😋

Comment: Azuma Sushi Bistro has, by far, the best Asian takeout I have eaten. I didnt eat it immediately so my photos show each meal in containers for reheating. The quality of ingredients was excellent, the size of the portions was large, and everything tasted amazing. Since then Ive been back and had the Mongolian beef, Thai fried rice, and garlic shrimp and those were excellent too. My whole family agreed that its some of the best takeout we have eaten. The seasonings were great too; the pineapple rice had a nice cumin flavor and wasnt very sweet. We ordered through mealeo and there werent any egg rolls, thats my only complaint.

I like that the menu has symbols showing which dishes have raw seafood in them. There was a birthday celebration going on at the hibachi table and it sounded like they were having a fun time.

Comment: If Azuma Sushi Bistro in Malta isn’t on your list of places to try, it needs to be. Exceptional food, fair pricing, intelligent, thoughtful, and friendly waitstaff, attention to detail, and beautiful artwork and decor really make this place top notch. We’ve had our fair share of sushi and this place really hits high on the list. With competition like Duo, Wasabi, Kinjo, and many others in the area, Azuma really does an excellent job mixing delicious food and an incredible atmosphere. Pictures include Spicy Tuna rolls, Shrimp LoMein, Lunch Bento Box with Thai Basil chicken, etc. 10/10 will definitely be returning soon.

Comment: This was our second time at Azuma for Hibachi. This time it was for birthday celebration. The Chef was great and everything from the fried rice, shrimp, filet and lobster were cooked to perfection. The Chef entertained us with his knife skills, a flaming onion volcano and accurately tossing fried vegetables in our mouths. The eating area and grill were absolutely clean when we arrived and the Chef thoroughly cleaned the grill before leaving us. Well definitely be back soon.

Comment: Tonight was my first time eating inside at Azuma for hibachi and let me tell you, our chef Jerry was seriously top notch! All the food came out absolutely perfect, my steak was cooked to perfection. It was highly entertaining watching him cook our food fresh in front of us and to cheer people on as they chug sake 😂 the place is also really beautiful, well taken care of and very clean. They have a super cool coi pond at the fish bar that’s also very unique. Its a great environment and a fun way to enjoy some seriously good food. 10/10 would recommend, don’t sleep on this place! The only reason im not giving 5 stars is because of the service...Im thinking maybe because it was pretty busy and everywhere is short staffed? We were also seated in a corner table kind of away from everything so maybe we just got overlooked? Trying to give the benefit of the doubt here because this place was so cool. Unfortunately though Our waiter hardly checked on us, forgot drinks, never asked us for refills, forgot one of our entrees and then brought it out wrong once we asked. It was kind of a bummer because the food and atmosphere were great. Aside from that, we will give it another try maybe during a not so busy time.

Comment: So I just got the 3 roll lunch special at Azuma. I loved it. I got the Philadelphia roll, the AAC (avocado, asparagus and cucumber) roll and the shrimp and cucumber roll. I do NOT recommend the Philadelphia roll at all. It has no texture. It’s just a mouth full of mush with cream cheese. The other two were very good. I usually get more raw fish but not this time.First thing I noticed was they don’t have a lot of rice on them and I like that a lot. The wasabi was great because it packed a good punch and I had enough for all my rolls. The spicy Mayo was spot on. Miso soup… excellent! The salad was basic but pretty good with a sweet ginger dressing.This week I will be going to the restaurant because it looked awesome in there. I will probably be getting the special rainbow roll and something else. But for my first experience, it was very good.In picture is the rising sun roll. It was Very good and I am glad to announce the special rolls aren’t huge so you don’t have to stuff your face. Yay

Comment: Update - Sat near the sushi guys. Glanced over and saw a chef whip out a 3 foot whole fish, presumably salmon, and filet that badboy right on the spot. First he halved it and passed a piece to his apprentice on the left. Together, they finished that fish in about 3 minutes. I know this because I saw them pull out a second one as soon as the first was complete.Which other sushi joint is doing it this fresh? 🤔None.Back to the original review.---Cleanest, nicest, tastiest Japanese place Ive been to yet.Appetizers were cooked to perfection. Love it when a chef isnt afraid to put a little char on the food. Its not burnt, its straight flavor. The dumplings were seared nicely. Kinda felt like they might have been homeade. Couldve asked the waitress but thats not my style. Also nabbed some chicken satay, equally charred and delicious. Their peanut sauce is tops.Ordered a coconut shrimp roll to try it out. Unsure what to expect, my jaw dropped at the presentation when the waitress put it in front of me. Theres a vase of flowers on the plate to compliment the colorful sauce on top of the roll. Weird shaped plate that resembled a wet rock added to the crunch of the tempura and coconut flakes. Would recommend trying it.Service and atmosphere were both great. Place is surprisingly spaceous. Decor is upscale and classy yet remains welcoming to a heathen like myself. The unfiltered saki caught my eye, would like to try it the next time.This is a place to stop for Japanese

The appetizers were very generous and cooked and served with equal precision. The ambiance was very relaxing and the noise level completely acceptable. The angry dragon roll is a must to try! There presentation is everything! The inside looks beautiful and the set up is welcoming!
