The lunch special bento box & poké bowls are our top lunch special recommendations! We return because of the quality & tastiness of the food for the price, & the cleanliness of the indoor dining. Its nice to visit a Japanese restaurant that has dishes beyond sushi! So we always have happily full tummies when we finish eating the dishes of Bamboo Ya!!The inside is modest, nothing particularly beautiful but its not ugly either. The service is also modestly polite.I would give Bamboo Ya a 3.7/5, but can see the business getting better!

Comment: This newer Bamboo Ya location is very nice and pretty spacious. Made reservations for a Saturday evening and was sat down immediately. Their menu was quite extensive; they had so many options for you to choose from. They also have Happy Hour every day that ends at 7pm, even on weekends, so that was a plus. The service was fine, but nothing amazing.The food was pretty good and the sashimi was fresh. To start off, we got the BBQ Squid, Rock Shrimp, and Hamachi Kama. The squid was grilled quite well; it had a great texture and the flavors were there. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered a second one later on. I would skip on the Rock Shrimp because I felt like I was eating batter more than actual shrimp. The Hamachi Kama was delicious and was not on the dry side. We then ordered 3 rolls - Futo Maki Roll, Kani Salad Roll, and Black Widow Roll - and they were pretty good. We then ordered a Sashimi Deluxe, Yellowtail Jalapeno, and Cajun Salmon Carpaccio. All the raw fish were fresh and the pieces were a good size.The overall food quality is fresh and there wasnt anything that I was completely dissatisfied about. The price for everything is pretty standard as well. Bamboo Ya is a great addition to Forest Hills Austin Street strip.

It is by far my absolute favorite!Incredibly affordable and PACKED with flavors and sides. The perfectly cooked grilled chicken comes on a bed of steamed broccoli, sliced carrots, and zucchini. A small rice AND soup or salad come with it.If you love chicken teriyaki as much as I do, look no further- Bamboo Ya is THE place for exquisite sushi and chicken teriyaki.My sister is an avid sushi eater who’s overly critical and she LOVES their sushi. The shrimp tempura is her go to.We usually place an order online and I pick it up after work. I am always able to find parking right out front since I pick up after 8 pm.Austin St can be an extremely busy street so I would recommend stopping by after rush hours.I have no patience when it comes to looking for parking in busy areas but I swear I would look for parking for hours to eat here. It is honestly that good.

The rest of food I order through the website and it gets delivered to the Atlas Park Mall shops and its not so close and I still get it delivered in a reasonable time. The sushi is always fresh and I like the pieces chosen for my sushi lunch. Always order lunch from here and Ive never been dissatisfied. Although last time they forgot my soy sauce for my sushi lunch but i wont hold that against them. I review the food quality when it comes to sushi.

Comment: Dined here on a Saturday night with the wife and two of my kids. Tako cerviche (octopus) was excellent. Shumai and sushi pizza were just ok. We ordered sushi deluxe along with several rolls. Most of the specialty rolls were very good. I didnt care for the cucumber special roll. Service was very good.

Comment: Wow! Really impressed with this sushi place. I live in an area of L.A. saturated with sushi, and I have never seen a sushi pizza or a sushi sandwich. They were really good too! The owner was a friend of my aunts and he is willing to create long lasting relationships with his customers. Our bartender, Nina, is a sweet Russian girl who knows how to pour. If youre on Austin St. in Queens check out Bamboo Ya!

Comment: Good sushi in queens is hard to find for a good price. FYI Sushi in Brooklyn is cheap and fresh.However, it’s really good here. I was shocked at how much fish was in the roll compared the rice(very little). They spare no expense with the fish and ingredients. We ordered the tuna, salmon, scallop, salads and special rolls. All good and all out of sight. Fair price for great sushi.

Comment: My family always went to Queens Blvd one, the Austin Street was grand opening. Tonight was my family first time visit Austin location. We like it very much. The restaurant renovation was nice, simple but classy. Foods was very fresh and yummy, they use good quality materials, rolls portion were little bit bigger regular size, it was stuffed filled. Price was reasonable. We definitely will visit again.

Comment: Very friendly and attentive wait staff. Sashimi is very fresh, cut very well. I loved the Salmon Carpacio and Eggplant appetizers. The sushi and sashimi platter was a good size portion, fresh, great cuts of fish, and presented beautifully. Decent size restaurant with a front seat area and back seating area for larger parties, a different decor feel in the front vs back. This is definitely a new fav of mine now.
