Comment: It depends what you order. I love the Sushi and some of the main dishes, but Im not a fan of the Teriyaki Chicken at all. They make Teriyaki Chicken way better at the Japanese restaurants in Sunnyside and at Queens Center Mall. Hope they can make changes to that. Other than that, the service is great. The pineapple Chicken was delicious, and I would order it again.

A number of local residents make it their go to spot. The food quality is good and the cost is very reasonable. Their extensive menu shows a photo of every selection. My favorite dishes are the Chicken Teriyaki and the Chicken Nasuyaki. Although Im not a Sushi fan, it is obviously very good judging by the reaction of others. Comment: While walking/wandering along Queens Blvd looking for a dinner spot, we noticed Bamboo Ya on the other side of the 10 lanes.What a wonderful find! There are three different seating options: At the Sushi Bar, seated around Japanese-style tables, and a large, comfortable dining room. As soon as we sat down we were served hot green tea. We had two Bento Boxes: Chicken Yakitori and Pork Katsu. Each came with Miso Soup, Salad, California Roll, Rice, and we chose Gyoza & Shumai. Everything was excellent, the portions were generous (we both took leftovers home), and the service was friendly and attentive, thoroughly professional. We were even pleased with the spotless, well appointed, gender-neutral restroom. We are so glad to find such a gem in our neighborhood.

Theres a nice selection of drinks, both alcoholic and not, you should try their cocktails since everything I tried so far was good. Try their green tea, its pretty nice to drink during winter time. The sushi is fresh and there is a large selection for you to choose from, their pizza sushi and pan fried gyoza is a must to try for the sake of experiencing it. Also, the staff is really polite, the inside looks good (its so clean that you can place your elbows on the table and not feel sticky), and most importantly the prices are reasonable. Im not kidding. Give it a chance, I have feeling youll come back just to try something new. I almost always order something new whenever I feel like dining in with a close group of friends or family.

Comment: I just love Japanese food and this place - wow! The food as well as their service was awesome (free, unlimited freshly brewed green tea lol). I wonder what they welcome with during summer.. Back to Bamboo Ya: shrimp tempura introduced me to Japanese cuisine (via anime) and will always be my #1. The tri-flavor ice cream filled mochis were so cute and the veg spring rolls and the eel-tobiko (fish egg) dragon sushi roll was delicious too. Ill always be sure to try their yummy tempuras every time I visit. Come and try something here, please! :)

Comment: Convenient Japanese restaurant located in Rego Park Queens blvd. My fiancé and I came here after a massage to grab lunch. We always passed it but never got a chance to stop in. We were greeted at the door and opted for booth seating. The booths are horigotatsu type seating which are great for groups and gives a vibe of authenticity. The service was fast and friendly and the food was good, portions were hugee but yet very affordable! Couldn’t finish my bento box. I was told I could have had all tempura shrimp for $1 more ($12 instead of $11) instead of tempura veggies. Cold sake was good, my fiancé tried it for the first time and loved it. He also had the crispy duck, it was so good! we would definitely come here again!

Comment: Bamboo Ya is a great sushi restaurant with a very authentic attractive feel. The decorative theme captures the message of the traditional food and place. They have a full bar, large group tables where you have to take your shoes off. Great back portion of the restaurant that requires your shoes on and of course fantastic food.I usually like to experiment with my sushi and I always try to get a different roll. They have an extensive selection and a bunch of great appetizers to along.Being in Rego Park is great cause I don’t have to go anywhere else.

Comment: I love coming to Bamboo Ya. Not that hard to find parking if you drive around a few blocks. Very affordable and Im always attended to very quickly and food comes quickly. I love the booths. You take your shoes off and go sit inside. Dragon rolls are very nice. Id say everything is mid to high quality.

Comment: Ive gotten take-out and delivery a few times. The foods good enough. Of the four sushi places that currently exist in Rego Park, this one is the best, though by a small margin. Bamboo Ya may be the most expensive as well.One of the other three has a B health grade. Bamboo Ya and the two remaining sushi restaurants have As. If youre looking for a dine-in experience, Bamboo Ya clearly has the best decor and ambiance.The real competition is in Forest Hills, which have several better sushi restaurants, including another Bamboo Ya.

Comment: We get sushi from this place all the time. Its always tasty and fresh, and its not expensive. Other menu items are hit-and-miss, but if youre not picky about your kinda-sorta-Asian-fusion dishes Im sure theyre fine. Staff are very nice. This place gets surprisingly busy on Friday and Saturday nights as theres a bar and it seems to be one of the hot spots in what is not a very happening area. Overall, highly recommended if you live in the neighborhood.

Bamboo Ya is also a good way to enjoy cultural foods you won’t eat as much such as sushi. I also recommend the Japanese sodas!

Comment: Completely surprised by the authenticity of this place. Very fresh food. Amazing service, with a smile. They even have the Japanese style tables where you have to remove your shoes and sit low to the ground. 1st time Ive actually seen this.Pineapple fried rice was outstanding and made Polynesian style, stuffed in a hollowed out whole pineapple.Yakitori was ordered after watching this food show on Netflix called Ugly Delicious. The chicken was tender as hell and delicious, ugly or not.Tuna Tataki was nice and fresh. Seared lightly and flavored with some unknown delicious sauce.The Paradise Roll we got was great but we definitely saved the most filling fishy dish for last and should have attacked that bad boy first. Because it was gargantuan. Shrimp tempura, avocado and spicy salmon inside.. white tuna and yellowtail on top with some orange sauce.Ill be back with the squad for the crispy duck nachos and I want that authentic table (call ahead for that!)

Highly recommend the duck rice their specialty and the spicy edemami is the best. Parking is in the street so its a bit challenging.

Comment: It was really nice. we went right before they were closing but they let us in and didnt really rush us. the staff is very friendly, welcoming and attentive. they also had built in japanese booths where you take your shoes off before entering. it was really nice and traditional. prices are ok, a little too expensive though but thats just me. they have typical real japanese food and it tasted good. i really likes the sweet potato rolls uwu. i legit think of them every now and then. i reccomend it af though ultimately.
