Comment: This restaurant is worth every penny. We saw sushis that we have not seen before such as Fried Oyster Sushi and Fried Scallion Sushi. We ordered them both and both we super fresh and delicious. But we do have to say our favorite one was mostly the salmon Carpaccio with ponzu sauce and sliced jalapeno. Now that sushi was so buttery and that ponzu and jalapeno gave it that extra kick! We didnt stop there, we also ordered their Sushi Delux Platter as well as their YellowTail. Overall, a wonderful dining experience and amazing sushi.

Comment: A great place in the heart of downtown for good Japanese, especially their sushi and rolls. The atmosphere was nice with a nice selection of indoor and outdoor seating. The service was 5 star, the wait staff was friendly, attentive and very professional. The menu is nicely sized but not overly large like some other places and the prices are decent considering the location and quality. 2 friends and I shared a sashimi entree, 2 rolls, some edamame, shrimp shamui, and 3 miso soups and not only were we more than full it was just over $30 a person which is pretty good for sushi in the city. Hopefully Ill be back sometime and definitely recommend this spot.

Comment: The overall experience here is fantastic. The servers are kind, the decorations are intentional, and the food is exceptional. The quality of ingredients is so fresh. I got the spicy scallop roll, Manhattan roll, and Chicken Katsu Curry. The tatami tables are so intimate and a great intimate setting! My new favorite sushi place!

Comment: An amazing find after checking out Momofuku across the street. This place makes you feel like you are in Japan with small tables, tables where you take your shoes off and Japanese staff. The service was amazing as youd expect with a lot of bowing and smiles (I love the bow). The menu is extensive which boasts among others ramen, sushi and sashimi and very affordable prices - it is unbelievable for what you get! The sushi is fantastically made and incredibly delicious. A platter of it for one looked like a good shout for a lunch. The ramen was incredible and flavoured perfectly. We also enjoyed some gyoza which were again delicious. If I lived in the area I would be in every week and if I had the money, every day!

This place is Tokyo in New York with actual Japanese clientele talking about normal things and great young wait staff who are super friendly and are perfectly ok speaking Japanese to a gaijin (times have changed - used to be impossible). The food here is top of the line for Japanese pub food. This is the top for its class. You must understand that this is Japanese pub food and not Street food or High Cuisine.This is Japanese middle cuisine and a perfect example of it. The Tantanmen is on point. This Japanese version of the Chinese noodle dish must taste as the Japanese make it and they get it right. They do it right and the prices are reasonable.

The crowd is bustling with a mixture of family (kids included), young people, much older people, diverse, etc. Its clearly a happy crowd overall. The incredible roll was tasty and it didnt need soy sauce. The sushi deluxe was super fresh and I personally dont believe it needed anything extra on it either, soy sauce included. Inhaled my food before I could take a photo. Currently still sitting in, enjoying a glass of Sapporo on draft. Im coming back and bringing more people with me!

Comment: There arent that many true Japanese restaurant (JR) in NYC, truly run by Japanese. Within the area, there are many JR, but this is one of the few that is operated by Japanese, all others are fake JR, especially those all you can eat Japanese place. They do offer many real Japanese speciality dishes you can only find in an authentic JR. Their sweet shrimp with fried shrimp head is amazing, their cow tongue dish is wonderful. And their (katsu) curry is also great. If you are looking for cheap Japanese food, look elsewhere. Go to those fake JRs and get yours filled. If you are looking for authentic Japanese food. This is a great place to visit.

Comment: We love this place. The food is authentic, the atmosphere casual but attentive, the staff friendly. Theyre also really nice when we bring our young kids in, never seem annoyed or impatient, always polite and accommodating.

Comment: My friend wanted to go for his birthday and the food was awesome! I had the bento box with salmon,tuna rolls,and chicken tulips. I tried the eel didnt like that but now I know I dont like eel. Love the atmosphere its a very calm quiet place

Comment: Previously Saporro East, this lovely place was closed for about a year or so for renovations, etc.Its now been open for a while as BeronBeron with what appear to be the same owners and staff.Simply THE BEST SUSHI / SASHIMI in NYC. With the renovations and new decor makes it even more cozier. Great for a quick meal or an intemate date.Not exactly family style sizes but you get bigger (very fresh) portions than anywhere else.
