Comment: Pretty decent experience, I had the unagi roll which was tasty and a bit of the bento box my date had. Not the most stellar food or dining experience but the woman who rung us up was so sweet so that was good.I really did not enjoy how when I asked for clarification about the sushi menu saying “inside out” and the server proceeded to tell me the rice was on the outside so that’s what inside out means. The last I checked, sushi rolls by default have rice on the outside. I’m Asian, I grew up with this lmao. Made me feel really stupid because of the wording in the menu and I asked my other friends, they all agree it was confusing.

Other parts of meal was very good. Also had the ramen with tonkatsu broth, which exceeded my expectations. No big disappointments here, will go again.

Comment: We tried Bleu Monkey while visiting near the Syracuse University area. Parking is on near-by paid lots or on the street at meters and difficult to find. Dont let that stop you from visiting. The food was traditional with a casual twist. They offer an abbreviated lunch menu but if you prefer you can order from the dinner menu. My table mate had a sushi dinner which came with a bowl of miso soup and a salad. He thought the sushi was good and the salad was fresh. I had a special lunch roll with eel (unagi). I thought it was good but came with a sauce on top that overpowered the flavor of the roll. I ordered a seaweed salad. It was very good with a light and slightly oil-vinegar flavor. There were lots of sesame seeds and a tiny bit of hot pepper. They offer bento boxes, appetizers, soups and salads. Many guests were eating what appeared to be curry. Portions were typical. We had hot green tea which came in a large mug rather than a pot. They offer indoor or outdoor tables and seating at the sushi bar. Service was attentive

Comment: This is one of the best experiences you can have food wise in Syracuse. the atmosphere is comfortably lit and the seating was very comfortable. when we arrived we were seated right away. within two mins our drink orders were filled and brought back too us. we place our orders for appetizers and waited 5mins before our first course was brought to us. we tried the pan fried gyoza and the edamame. both were excellent. myself personally I ordered the bento box with a shrimp tempura roll. I found the price fair and the quantity very generous compared to similar establishments. after the first few bites I started to regret ever spending money at another place that served similar food. by the end of the meal we were not only full but extremely satisfied. I not only purchased my own meal but a friends as well and it came to 50$. included was 2 appetizers 3 dinner meals and a slice or tempura cheese cake. on top of the great food and prices the service was amazing. this place is definitely worth a visit.

Comment: Good sushi, but the noodle bowls werent that great. The service, however, was awesome. Everyone was super nice and friendly, and eager to help.

Comment: High quality sushi. All of the usual suspects with many house specialties. The tempura unagi was delicious.
