Comment: BONDST restaurant delivers high quality food and service. Notable dishes were the sushi pizza which is topped with a truffle oil, crispy rice topped with either Tuna, or beef, miso sea bass, just to name a few. Mixed drinks are $20-$24 and Kirin light is $14. That said, no one was hungry and everyone was happy. Cheers and enjoy!

Comment: Great date night spot! Lively, well-dressed crowd, and incredible food. The process to be seated was a bit hectic and inefficient, seeing half the place empty at 6:30 but trying to create a buzz by packing the bar and entrance with patrons waiting to be seated was not necessary.Overall, service was on point and friendly, and the drinks were next-level sublime.

Comment: Unfortunately didn’t have the best time here — to be clear, the food is extraordinary and would highly recommend — however it was hard to truly enjoy it because of how pushy the wait staff is. We tried to order an appetizer with our cocktails and our server would not let us, saying she needed our entire order. We obliged and still the entire dinner we felt very rushed by the wait staff, we had only been there for an hour and it felt like they were trying to get us to leave to flip the table. That’s maybe understandable at some places but when you’re spending $500 on a good sushi dinner you shouldn’t have to feel like you’re at an Applebees with the way the wait staff pushes you to get through your dinner. I’ve worked in the service industry myself and understand this isn’t the wait staff’s fault — hopefully the management can change this aspect of the dining experience.

Comment: A really great vibe with some amazing dishes and sake 🍶. We were celebrating a 30th birthday and we picked the right place. We sampled a lot. For starters, my favorites were the crispy shrimp and the crispy rice. The sauce on the shrimp was not too spicy but had great flavor. Next we had the wagyu beef as a shared entree. This might have been the best thing out of everything. Certainly a great option if youre not a sushi fan or are going with a group and you want to know that they have other options. They do, and they are incredible. We finished with a big mix of sushi including the belly special, lobster roll, king crab roll, tuna roll and scallops. All very solid. Paired everything with an incredible bottle of Stella Sake. Highly recommend.

Comment: Restaurant is spread over a few floors, needing to take an elevator upstairs if your table is there. The food was actually very good. Good sized portions and fresh. We had a few rolls, the bass and steak. Everything was excellent except the one thing that prevents a 5 star rating for food is that so many of the dishes were drenched in sauce. This made the dish exceptionally salty. The sea bass for example was a wonderful piece of fish but there was way too much sauce and it turned out to be very salty. The table upstairs were a bit too cozy for us. They really try to squeeze as many patrons in as possible. So expect to listen to other peoples conversations .... And expect to have others listen to yours.Service was very good, no complaints there. On the fence whether Id come back again. Having said that our party enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.I would also like to add that the service they recommend on the bill is a % of the total bill.including tax, when it should be based on the sale before tax, so the suggested % for the tip is actually inflated. That wasnt cool.

Comment: BondST is worth trying once. However, its worth noting that with a reservation made almost 4 weeks in advance, my partner and I waited 20 minutes for our table. The host and manager were pleasant enough about this but, strangely, did not apologize for the mishap at any point. Instead, they encouraged us to get a drink at the overcrowded bar which did not have enough room to stand, let alone sit. They were pleasant, just not apologetic the way you would expect in this situation. The food was good, especially the Spicy Crab Crispy Rise and the Short Rib Foie Gras Gyoza. The gyoza was delectable and different from anything weve tried before. When it came to the sushi, it was decent but nothing special. Definitely fresh, but I expected more for the price point and hype about this restaurant. My favorite was the Pressed Eel; the almonds made the roll more dynamic and added a nice texture. Our server was pleasant and competent and the food came out quickly. Id recommend trying BondST once, but I dont think Ill be back in the future.

Comment: BOND ST ( downstairs) is one of the holdvers in Soho that has never lost its pulse In a slowly dying old school New York.I can remember many nights throwing back Sakitink after Sakitini While feasting on avocado and sun-dried tomato rose with ponzu sauce ( Still my face and still on the menu). The air is also amazing as well.Although ive been to Bond Steet downstairs hundreds of times ive only been upstairs in the restaurant once to eat.

Comment: I can’t believe I never went here before. Perfect place for a large group - sat in the round tables upstajrs - excellent attentive but unobtrusive service, wonderful vibe that’s cool but not cold and surprisingly spacious for a Soho townhouse. Not the best sushi in town but very very good and the hot dishes and creative apps are standouts. Recommend the tacos app, the salmon carpaccio pizza thjngs, the seared salmon sushi, the steak and the roasted black cod. But everything was good.

Comment: We have been going to Bondst to celebrate our anniversary in this restaurant. And if with friends, we go hangout in their lounge downstairs. They have good quality Japanese pieces and sake selection. My favorites are seared tuna and foie gras, mushroom donabe with truffles on top, sweet shrimp 🦐, crab crispy rice, salmon belly sushi, caviar sushi, panna cotta and donuts! Yup we are fans of this resto :) Shout out to our server Nadine last night cause she was amazing. Servers are not just servers, they act like hosts and they do listen to you and offer suggestions based on your preference. While the other crew members were very attentive to your needs and clears your table for the next dish on a timely fashion. The ambience is still lively and bustling after years in the business. Comment: Best sushi spot in New York with fantastic cocktails and the freshest fish I have ever had. I go nuts here for the toro sashimi and the fresh, homemade spicy mayo. Also, the staff here is awesome. One time I had my reservation canceled because of a small kitchen fire, and they told me someone would call the next day with a resolution. They called back the next day and emailed me a gift card that was more than generous and paid for my party of 4.If your looking for fresh food, good vibes, instiagramable drinks, this is ur place

Comment: Great upscale vibey sushi spot! Lychee martinis are good too! Started with the big eye tuna tarts- really good but small portion for the price. The Szechuan yellowtail sashimi and spicy crispy shrimp were 10/10 so good! We also had two rolls but I wish we ordered other apps/small plates instead (like the crispy rice or even nigiri). Holistically the dinner was a 10/10 good food and good service so I’ll definitely return.

Comment: I honestly came in here loaded, so take this review with a grain of salt.I was invited to join this dinner with some old friends that I met Freshman year of college. I ended up transferring after sophomore year, meanwhile their friendships kept on budding and grew into something beautiful and special. When I was invited last minute, I took it as an honor. We met for a few drinks before, and then headed over to BondST.Why I am telling you all of this? I have no idea but it feels important to set the scene. Im a visual guy. When we checked in for our 9:30 res, it was about a 20 minute wait which was irksome but not abnormal. We waited at the packed bar to pass the time. One of the girls in the group asked what I wanted to drink. So thoughtful.I opted for an old-fashion as I thought I would look beast drinking it in my new suit jacket I just picked up from L-Train. I was correct. Beast. The hostess came up and said our table was ready. After a short elevator ride, we were seated in the back corner of the top room. Beast again. At this point we ordered more drinks, which really TAGGED me. Hit me like that body shot Tank hit Ryan Garcia with.I was involved in ordering the food, with another girl in our group taking the lead. Thank Jesus, I needed to be led at this point. We ordered family style and the items included seaweed salads, Big Eye Tuna, Tuna Crispy rice, Shrimp Tempura, Steamed Black Sea Bass, Spicy Tuna rolls, Spicy yellow tail rolls, and the Wagyu Skirt Steak.I loved everything with the highlight being the Tuna Crispy Rice and Wagyu Skirt Steak. All in all, BondST is a great place to catch up with friends or an ex lover, hold a business meeting, or just to come and have some exquisite Japanese food.

We ordered the Scottish salmon tartar which was apart of their specials menu for the night which was extraordinary. We also got the crispy cauliflower as well which was also very good. We both thought that the tuna crispy rice was our favorite app. It was perfectly crispy and the tuna on top was just outstanding. We ordered a few different types of toro and each was better than the last. The fish was super fresh, the staff was all very friendly and very attentive. We ended our meal with the chocolate meltdown which was fabulous as well. Id highly recommend and I look forward to dinning here again.

The Food, Staff and Cocktails are all perfection. Special shout out to the incredible Chef Mark who is always on point and a rising star behind the bar... The Young Andy. Comment: Wow - incredible food! Best Japanese we’ve had with something different than usual on the menu - we had the steak and scallop sushi amongst others and everything was so tasty. I’m gutted we’re unable to visit this more often. Dark, candle lit places with great atmosphere. Pricey but worth it.

Comment: We dined upstairs and really enjoyed my birthday dinner. The upstairs and downstairs sections are completely separate from each other- the downstairs area is the “lounge”. Great ambiance and romantic lighting. Definitely pricey, but we also tried a ton of dishes and rolls. We recommend sharing everything family style for a more fun experience. Our favorites were the grilled wagyu skirt steak (the most delicious bite of steak I’ve possibly ever had) and the chicken katsu bao bun special. The spicy tuna rolls and crispy rice were great too. A couple of the other sushi rolls were a bit underwhelming but the bread pudding and sake crème brûlée made up for it. Attentive wait staff.

Comment: We were really looking forward to celebrating my birthday here and it did not disappoint! All of the dishes we got were very delicious but I wish the portion size of the scallops was a bit bigger. The sauce that the king salmon sashimi was in tasted great and the big eye tuna tarts were awesome. The wagyu portion was really nice and all of the flavors from the kimchi + brussels sprouts blended together well. Our most favorite dish that we got was the tuna crispy rice, it was perfect and we would come back here for it again. The dessert was great as well.

Comment: If you love sushi, take yourself on a date to BondST. If you hate sushi, take yourself on a date to BondST, they will fix that. Staff is very hospitable (like expert hospitality level) and knowledgeable about the very extensive menu and even more extensive wine and sake menu. Overwhelmed? Can’t pronounce Japanese words (even though it’s really easy once you learn at least one of the alphabets)? They’ve got your back. You can order a whole slew of random drinks, hot appetizers, cold appetizers, entrees, sushi rolls, and nigiri sushi and it will all be presented to you like a curated sushi journey. Apart from their valuable advice, I highly recommend trying a few different glasses of sake off the premium sake list. (It’s not your suburban sushi restaurant hot table sake, it’s the fancy stuff, you drink it like white wine, and if you’re like me you instantly forget about white wine forever). Each sake tastes so beautiful and different from the other and the menu and the waiters do a good job of helping you figure out what to order depending on your tastes. And if you’re still afraid of sake because you still can’t pronounce Japanese, BondST has the best lychee martini out there, not to mention excellent other cocktails expertly made. For food, I definitely recommend the tuna tarts (add truffle for fancy flavor!) which seem unique to BondST and are a very memorable and fun cold appetizer. Of the hot appetizers, the fois gras gyoza blew my mind. Like my synapses all lit up and I short circuited. I might come back and get just those for myself for dinner. And then the sushi. The sushi rolls are delicate, flavorful, and unique - one of my now favorite rolls of all time is the beautiful, pearlescent, BondST scallop roll. I’ve had it three times now and it’s like a sushi hug. We took a big sampling of the desserts this time, a classic being the matcha Mille crepe cake, but my favorites this time were the dark chocolate mochi ice cream of the mochi ice cream trio and the donuts which are filled with surprises. Carpe diem. Be royalty. Dress up. Take yourself (and ok maybe a special someone else) to BondST. Learn about sake. Sush out!

Comment: Atmosphere was great and service was very attentive. Ordered Big Eye Tuna Tarts, Tuna Crispy Rice and the Spicy Crispy Shrimp as appetizers with the Nigiri Omakase. All three appetizers were wonderful, but the Omakase left much to be desired. The presentation was nice, but the fish itself seemed like the chef was trying to get rid of old and leftover inventory. Flavor was lacking and texture was not enjoyable. Would come again but probably will steer clear of the Omakase.

Comment: In every respect this location is one of NYC’s hidden gems & is a must for a dinner out in the West Village. As a person who’s been to highly acclaimed Asian restaurants (such as the celebrity famous Nobu) I can confidently say that this restaurant is not only far better in terms of service and environment, but the flavor in every bite exceeded every expectation. Walking into the luxurious table setting and hearing the excellent variety of music from upbeat pop, rap, to soothing rhythmic contemporary pieces was an incredible restaurant fine dining experience all in itself. BONDST is a celebration of the Westernization of East Asian cuisine. From the cleanliness, to the presentation, and the crisp decor of both the room and the plates… 💎! Worth every minute of traffic. *Below I’ve included pictures of their artful dishes and the captions list all orders I can say are beyond impressive.

Waitress helped with food and sake recommendations, and I appreciated that they let us hang at our table long after we got the check and paid. Hot dishes and sushi were all tasty. Menu had a good mix of hot and raw stuff. Restaurant was on the quieter side initially but was bustling by the time we left around 10pm. Great place for groups.

We tried the warm appetizers —crispy mushroom rice, buckwheat risotto, squash blossom crab bundles, pork belly, grilled octopus, cauliflower, and avocado and sampled the toro tart. This is one of those places where you could just do appetizers. We ordered the mains and sushi assortments too. The gold foil and beautiful plating struck me. Comment: Was looking for omakase that didn’t involve months of planning and waiting for reservation to become available and came across this place. A girlfriend of mine had never tried omakase so thought I’d try one that didn’t cost an arm and a leg.Reservation was easy enough and we met up there. The restaurant is inside what seemed like a townhouse on Bond St, hence the name? At first I went downstairs which turned out to be a bar. I was told it was actually upstairs. I don’t think I saw a clear sign and it doesn’t look like a restaurant outside so it was a bit confusing. When we finally sat at the sushi bas in the back the chef introduced himself and handed us the menu. We picked one where it was the chefs choice and sat back in anticipation. Also ordered some sake after inquiring on recommendation. The sushi came out in some sort of sequence but not one piece at a time as I had expected having been to other omakase where the chef prepared and presented each piece with explanation as to what it was. There wasn’t much of that here so it didn’t feel as special or intimate but we enjoyed it nonetheless. If you’re wanting to try omakase but are not sure you want to commit to a fortune for it, I think this can be a good option. This place isn’t cheap either but there are more affordable options.

Tom, the bartender, was really friendly as we waited for our table and the rest of the staff was very attentive and quick to clear away empty plates and wipe the table clean - really appreciated that. The service is stellar, waiters and waitresses come around frequently and make sure every moment of my meal was perfect. For starters the tuna pizza is a must like all previous reviews state. Fresh tuna on a wafer thin crunchy crust. The fried rock shrimp was also fantastic, tossed in that mayo dressing. On to the sushi, all of the fish tasted fresh to me. Buttery soft and delicious. The Chilean Sea bass was tender, creamy and just the right amount of fat. Now my favorite was the steak, it was cooked to perfection. Melt in your mouth flavorful goodness and paired with the fried potato cubes, nothing is better. To end the night, we had the chocolate fondue, fresh fruits and fresh melted chocolate.

Comment: I would definitely recommend this place! The sushi is amazing, the quality of raw fish very high. The cocktails offer unusual combination of ingredients and are delicious! The green tea crepe is a bit overrated from what I’ve read here. Instead take the tripe chocolate cake! The only thing that ruined the experience and the reason why I’m not giving 5 stars, is that it was freezing where we were seated. We had a table all the way back near the kitchen/bar. I don’t know if it was the AC or something else but we had to sit with our coats. This is easy to fix and I hope the management will consider this.

Very fresh, tasty, and impressive decor. The last, mochi ice cream is the best in town! Very nice and friendly staffs too. Not to mention they had a great cocktails list. Go for it! Absolutely will be back.

Comment: This place is incredibly sceney I guess it is a testament to its longevity. I think its been there for almost 20 something years. It was very busy with what seemed to be lots of date nights and group celebrating special occasions. Most of the food was quite good. We had the Yellow Tail Sashimi in a Szechuan sauce with a lovely tumble of shiso and radishes. The crispy shrimp was indeed crispy and very tasty. The mushroom salad with arugula featured all different kinds of mushrooms all prepared differently it was lots of fun on my tongue. My boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed the foie gras and seared tuna dish with the wafer of Nashi pear. I think my favorite dish was the tuna on the crispy rice. The only dish that really didnt work was the lobster tempura. Fried Lobster was tough and the sauce was fairly Bland.Very efficient service. Theres a lot of Staff running around this restaurant and they get the job done.It is noisy if thats something you dont care for in a restaurant you might avoid it.

Comment: Overall, most elements of BondSt were great! The service was on point and our waiter was really friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The Braised Short Ribs and Chilean Sea Bass were spectacular. However, the grilled octopus and eggplant were more basic, but still decent. Would recommend for special occasions because its on the pricier end of the spectrum.

Comment: This is absolutely my favorite sushi/Asian fusion restaurant in the world. The culinary experience is nothing short of awe inspiring. The atmosphere is amazing, comfortable, and has such a welcoming layout. The location could not be more perfect on one of the widest cobblestone streets still remaining in NY - no wonder A List celebrities live immediately around this place and frequent it often. The drinks are no doubt concocted with innovation, creativity, imagination, and a bit of courage to culminate into some of the finest and most unique cocktails I have ever enjoyed. The staff, especially Thomas, is simply amazing. This is a Must Try for anyone living in, near, or visiting NY. This little gem will surely not disappoint.

Comment: 5 stars! Must orders: Tuna Tarts, Sea Bass, Waygu Beef and whatever selection of sashimi you prefer. The food was amazing! My husband and I shared everything and it was perfect. They have a great selection of sake and the waiter was helpful in choosing since the menu was quite extensive. We will 100% be coming back!

Comment: This is a great hip restaurant in NoHo! Great restaurant for a Friday night girls dinner. Everything is a little overpriced (especially the drinks) but the sushi is super high quality and delicious. The tuna tarts and crispy rice spicy tuna were my two favorite things. A great place for sharing/ trying lots of things!

Comment: Always have a great experience at Bondst! The restaurant has a great ambiance and the decor is beautiful. The food is amazing. I personally go just for the tuna crispy rice as its one of the best Ive had. Also, I always order the rock shrimp appetizer. Its so delicious and a decent sized portion. The thing is about this place is that it has excellent food and a great atmosphere, but its a little overpriced. Other than that its a good treat once in awhile. Would totally suggest coming here if youre looking for a trendy sushi spot in the Noho/Soho area.

Comment: Fancy. Restaurants will always get an extra star if they provide a nice warm towel for you to clean your hands/ face. Service was very attentive. For the food, we had BIG EYE TUNA TARTS, 6 BOND NIGIRI, and tried some seasonal special fish - barracuda! Tarts were really good as they say and the nigiri was tasty in pretty interesting though my dining companion didnt like the one with the olive.Only downside is how (somewhat inappropriately) expensive the meal was.

Comment: Good & Trendy. The food is perfect... we had the omakase tasting menu and we loved it all. Because of its endangered nature I havent had Chilean Sea Bass in years... and I would have requested a substitution if I knew it was coming... but oh man what a treat! Not one misstep... but this is one of those too trendy places. Too expensive, way too noisy, too image conscious. If eating with the beautiful people is what you are in NYC for this is the place. A famous actor sat next to us with his children and models hobnobbed the masters of the universe.

Comment: I celebrated my birthday in the lounge in 2014. They served cocktails and small sushi plates. Was a perfect, a bit upscale atmosphere. Great crowd - early, late 30s.Would recommend it for pre-dinner and after dinner cocktails.

Comment: The food is mediocre. Very loud, dark and cramped! The portions are TINY and EXPENSIVE. You definitely DONT get your moneys worth. The menu has many varieties, but stupid expensive. I ordered 5 items from the menu and one of them had a long hair in it!!!! NOT acceptable anywhere specially for such upscale place that is charging $21 for 2 thinly slices of fish and crackers! I think people are loosing perspective of whats good for the $ spent!

Comment: I felt like I was eating in the bar of any W Hotel. It definitely had the dark, cool, glitzy vibe with lots of people wearing black. The servers were definitely eye candy. The sushi was respectable but not spectacular nor particularly memorable. I was definitely the oldest person in the restaurant. It was definitely way too pricey for the quality of the food. Ill go again if someone picks up the tab.
