Comment: Chef Katsu is one of a handful of places in New York that does katsu curry correctly. The curry is rich and flavorful and they dont skimp on the volume. Remember to mix the rice so you dont end up with half your rice drowning in curry and the other half completely plain. The katsu is also nicely fried and has a light batter. I tried the seafood chowder, a seasonal menu item, and it was phenomenal. The only thing that prevents me from coming here more often is how expensive it can get (with tip I spent a little over 25). For a once in a while treat, this place is great.

Comment: Cozy and casual Japanese restaurant that I wish I had in my neighborhood. Foods appear simple and yet provide good flavors and taste experience. Katsu here was little less greasy than what I usually had in the past and I appreciated it as it better served its partner, ie: curry rice.I’m curious about their chazuke(茶漬け) so def would like to revisit.Its clean and the food tastes good, so its the kind of place I wish was closer to where I live. I definitely recommend it if you live nearby or are stopping by nearby.

It is a good neighborhood restaurant.But will a little bit cold if you sit indoor near the entrance, because we were there, when we sat there enjoy our dinner a chid held the door open for a while for no reason, after that other children come and out frequently for no reason. Comment: Got the pork katsu bowl, teriyaki portobello bowl, grill rice ball, and the yuzu cheesecake. Everything was delicious, not too heavy, but tasty and fresh. The space is small, clean, and bright with a few tables inside and out.Went during the soft opening so I wont rate speed or efficiency of service yet (service was friendly though). But Im excited to go again. A great addition to the neighborhood!

Comment: Came on a rainy day. I got the salmon katsu pork katsu and chicken teriyaki burgers. Its what I expected delicious.I noticed this place because I saw that it was crowd funded. Im a proud believer of supporting small businesses

Comment: Friendliest cashier and best food hands down. Get there early, there were people waiting before the restaurant even opened. Recommend the Portobello katsu burger and the Salmon and Ikura Rice Bowl.

Comment: Lovely place, very clean, great service, well designed. The food is fresh, personally the chicken teriyaki chicken burger and katzu burger were sweet on sweet, no flavour kick. Fries are brilliant!

Comment: We ordered most of stuff on menus and all were heavenly delicious. My kid who usually eat only half of his brunch ate two bowls of salmon ikura don though portion was generous! He gladly finished his miso soup, lemonade and donuts too :) Burgers were excellent as before, of course. All drinks (usually lemonade, iced matcha latte, hot houjicha latte) was so good and large size for small size price!! Unfortunately, houjicha cream puff and yuzu cheese cake were not available but green tea an donut was so yummy, we cannot wait to gobs my to try them all!! The store was so popular and there were socially distant lines all the time and it makes sense as you can rarely get this high quality foods/ drink/ desserts at reasonable price anywhere else. True gem to the neighborhood and we are so happy Chef Katsu opened his beautiful restaurant here!!!

Comment: Only had the chicken katsu burger so far, and its incredible. The chicken is moist and soft on the inside, and perfectly crispy on the outside. Ill update my review next time I get the pork katsu burger.
