Comment: Dont usually write reviews but will for Chikirun. Hands down one of the best places for sushi and general Japanese cuisine. Super affordable, great staff, and wonderful atmosphere.This and the 86th location is just as good!

Comment: We have visited this place like 3 times already. It is really good and not that expensive compared to other sushi spots. I recommend this place. Staff is friendly too. They include gratuity on your tab so just be aware of that.

Comment: We walked in at 10 PM and were greeted by a nice lady. She informed us that although the kitchen closes at 10:30, she would be able to serve us, no questions asked. That was really nice. The food was pretty tasty. I was pleasantly surprised they had fresh wasabi and it paired nicely with the sushi I got. Mushroom soup was truly amazing. Wok charred edamame was a big no no. Go to Nagoya Sushi for legit wok charred edamame. The hibachi was subpar at best. You can tell from the pics that the steak just isn’t great. Also the fried rice was overcooked and burnt. But the ice cream was tasty and it ended our meal off on a good note, despite the fact that it literally came while we were still eating our entrées...P.S. Beware of the cold water in the bathroom!

Service is absolutely on point, fast, kind, family owned, and managed, as it shows throughout.knowledgeable staff, foods come out in the correct order, the menu is vast, and caters to everyone, whichever you prefer, the chef is accommodating, and made specialty sushi rolls, without crab just for me!Im so happy I red the reviews, and decided to come!!I highly recommend this place!!!As a Chef....

Comment: The chicken katsu and tempura lunch specials were good. The sushi was given in very sizeable portions, but one of the spicy salmon sushi tasted a bit off. The salad was okay; I didnt like that they dumped the sauce on top. Some pieces of tomato and lettuce would have been better left out. Maybe they should try using cherry tomatoes instead like my local sushi place that has a very similar salad. Overall, a good meal for the price. The service was fine.

Comment: There are many sushi restaurants in the vicinity of Chikurin. Chikurin has a way of standing out. I came here a 2nd time in a month which is alot, to dine with friends to celebrate before Christmas. Since no indoor dining is allowed, we sat inside an outdoor tent they constructed with heaters to dine. It dies prevent the wind from coming in. It is still a little chilly but not unbearable. I suggest you order some hit tea and hot sake to keep warm because it works!!As far as food and service you can expect to be pleasantly pleased at both. The prices are good as well. We ordered calamari, oyster shooter( which are so good here, especially with a little jalapeño), the seafood soup (Perfect in the cold weather) which is cute delicious, the coconut shrimps are huge, we also got the edimame, which is a little different than other places because of a seasoned delicious sauce added to it. The gyoza were really good,, we ordered 3 of them.. Finally, they had uni (sea urchin) in a sushi roll that was well presented. I cannot imagine how many sake bombs we had while there. The staff delivered the items fast and whenever we needed waters or other items. They really want you to have a great experience dining. Yes, it is one of the places I think about when it comes to a sushi/ Japanese restaurant.

Comment: First time trying the food from here. I ordered online on their website and picked up in-person. Paying in cash gives you a discount.I got the Chicken Katsu Lunch Bento ($14.95) and the 3 Rolls Lunch Special (Sweet Potato Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll for $11.95). The food came with 2 miso soups and 1 salad. All the food was delicious and freshly made. I also recommend getting the eel sauce (bought separately).
