Comment: Came here mainly for their happy hour, which runs from 12-10 PM! I ordered the dai hachi matcha, lychee martini, Tokyo mojito, draft Sapporo, and hot sake. Out of the cocktails, the dai hatcha matcha is a must get! It’s strong and tastes like matcha! The other cocktails I had were on the sweeter side. I ended up getting 3 roll dinner combo: salmon avocado, spicy salmon, and eel cucumber. I thought the rolls were very average, however, I’d come back just for the happy hour! 4.1/5

Really good quality and delicious for the affordable prices. Their lunch specials and all day happy hour is amazing. I’m about to order take out in a bit as well :)

Comment: Great Japanese restaurant with delicious food and friendly service. There’s a ton of dog-friendly outdoor seating available; there’s plenty of indoor seating as well and a bar with two TVs. I came at 8pm on a Friday night and it was pretty lively and crowded. There were tables available inside but it was such a nice night and I had a dog so we got on the waitlist to be seated outside which took about 20 minutes. It would have been sooner but I think the hostess forgot about us and, after seeing that there were tables available, I went inside to tell her and we were seated right away. A bit annoying considering I left my phone number to be notified when a table opened up (kinda defeats the purpose of a waitlist) but in the end it all worked out.We ordered a couple Asahi and Sapporo beers, beef Udon, Crazy Tuna special roll, and pork Gyoza. All were very good and the service was very prompt.I’ll definitely be coming back here again. Next time, I’ll just have to make sure to be more on top of the hostess as far as getting a table if there’s a wait.

We ordered the Sake Tini ($12) and draft beer ($8) as drinks.Service was good, and we enjoyed the Shiitake Mushroom roll was pretty tasty. The scallion jalapeno cucumber roll did not live up to its name, but was decent enough. Weve had better veggie gyoza in the neighborhood, and felt the dumplings were a little thicker than what we like.Service was fairly quick and we got our food within 20 minutes or ordering.

Comment: Excellent sushi and a small but mighty Japanese whiskey selection can be found at this delectable restaurant.Came here with a friend and we both had a wonderful experience! The Mississippi Roll and Vernon Ruhl we’re both delicious. The Mississippi roll had a nice kick to it and the Vernon roll was quite satisfying.I tried the Kuroshio whiskey and it was fantastic! I tend to enjoy speyside whiskeys such as Glenmorangie and Ben Riach. This tasted different from both of those distilleries’ offerings but had a similar smoothness to it. Quite enjoyable!

Comment: I always enjoy this place. Great service. There’s many vegan options and the food is always fresh. There are things on the menu that can be made vegan like Veggie Fried Rice (ask to be made without eggs). Veggie Spring rolls and Broiled Eggplant are delicious as well and my favorite roll is cucumber+avocado+ jalapeño + scallion, sooo good and the seaweed is never chewy :)

Comment: LUNCH SPECIAL REVIEW : let me first say Dai Hachi has the best outdoor seating I’ve been to since covid started. It’s huge, built well and feels intentional, not a forced structure. 3 roll lunch special comes w soup AND salad, a rare offering (atleast in Manhattan). The salad came in a chilled bowl! Small touch but very apparent. The miso soup is poppin. The maki rolls were good quality. The fish was high quality. Solid 8/10. I’m def comin back to try some more of the menu. Thanks dai hachi

Comment: Been to Gantry park area so many times and only noticed this place because of their outdoor setup with food dividers between tables. Decided to try it with my friend and Im glad we did and were seated in door with great outdoor air circulation. Their roll choices are great. Tried a couple of their special rolls and they were great with good portion. Never had a banana spicy roll and Im glad I tried the one they offered. Will def order it again soon.With the weather getting colder as most restaurant now in NYC it wouldve tough to eat outside and this place though they have indoor dining is only limited to a few tables. Takeout definitely is another option.

Comment: Have been waiting to try Dai Hachi for a while, and finally went there for lunch. The food is really good, and the bento box is a steal for what you get. I am a big fun of thick noodles, and Dai Hachi’s Yaki Udon did not disappoint. Adding to the great food experience, this place is super Covid-safe. Each outdoor booth is individually separated from the others and a nice bottle of hand sanitizer is provided right after we set down. Last but not least, very friendly staff.Can’t wait to try it for dinner.

Comment: Very nice establishment. Staff was very friendly. It was very busy Friday night but they handled it and this is a small business so its much appreciated. Lets support a restaurant that was here in LIC before gentrificiation and deserves to still be here and beyond.
