You could blindly pick something from the menu and its going to be delicious. The staff is welcoming & you can see their work ethic through their interactions with each other & their customers. We recently celebrated a birthday there & it was more than we expected! Staff brought out a cake, sparkles ✨️ & a Bday banner with the Bday girls name on it. We were surprised & grateful. Weve been wanting to order the Tomahawk & finally did this week: Juicy & cooked to perfection 🤤 Will definitely be ordering again. Thank you for your hospitality & delicious food. Comment: Pretty good visit! The service was great and most of our dishes were delicious. We tried some new things and left satisfied. The Samurai special cocktail was particularly good. My ONLY complaint is that one of the specials, the burgundy mushroom truffle roll, did not taste like truffle at all. The mushrooms were good and the roll itself tasted fresh BUT the truffle taste was lacking. And the shavings on top of the sushi smelled like dirty dish rags and I had to remove them because the smell was so strong it was messing with my appetite and the whole meal. I’m a HUGE truffle fan so I tend to have it quite often and I’ve never had this happen before. Not sure what happened here but .. otherwise, the food was great. Will be coming back but likely won’t be having truffle here ever again.

But what truly set my experience here apart was the server we had, Yuki. She was warm, funny, attentive, amicable, and one of the greatest people I’ve ever met. Well, you could understand that, people like to carry away something to memories the event. But yesterday I was shocked to realize that nice Asian plates that make all the experience unpick were gone, food comes on chip white ones.I guess the thought was Americans won’t notice, they travel abroad wearing a pair of sketchers they dig for wide in the their back yard, but Americans don’t go to fishimi, they don’t eat raw fish, they spit out cavia. You will lose your regular customers that pay attention to ambiance, and dishes are a major factor.Drinks have gone down the drain which is a shame. They got rid of a bartender, they think anyone could make a drink. Well chip vodka overwhelms the taste of anything, leachi martini are now just 3 of them on a stick that are supposed to be making up for leechi juice, well it does not.They also don’t bother to make arrangements on your plate any more. It’s history. It is simple now. Squid for fried calamari comes from frozen from shoprite.Don’t bother with special rolls, they have less and less fish and rice could be overcooked.We just came from Korean restaurant in the city, $$, they bother with traditional dishes.It makes me feel you disrespect your customers, you think lower of them than of yourself.I put 4 stars only for quality of raw fish, which we have been getting lately😧

Comment: What a pleasure it was to have brunch today with my friend at the beautifully decorated outdoor dining area at the Richmond Rd. Fushimi location. We had the King of Steak and the Chilean Sea Bass entree’, absolutely delicious. The waiter was very accommodating to split the Kani salad and Rock Shrimp Tempura appetizers onto two separate plates for us. Every sanitary precaution was clearly accomplished to the highest level. The heaters were great too and mind you it was 30 degrees out today so I have to tell you it was quite the culinary adventure. My friend and I throughly enjoyed the dining experience and appreciate all the effort the entire staff made to make us feel so comfortable during these stressful times. The charming waitress even took my photo.

Never ate anything less than awesome there in nearly twenty years, and for all the lights and club styled ambience, it is absolutely a family friendly environment. The staff is absolutely delightful towards my kid, and Ive noticed everyone elses too.

Comment: Man this place is awesome! They have a groupon and it’s well worth it. It can be pricey but you want just their rolls they are like $6 each. Not bad at all. I ordered their $39 sashimi aquarium and holy cow!!! It was awesome! Worth every penny. Perfect place for a date night and the staff was amazing and very tentative. We also had the fried calamari and it was very fresh as if they cut the squid up there self there and fried it. SO GOOD!

The real reason I removed a star was that I ordered an oriental steak that came with potato sticks and they wouldnt allow me to substitute it for fried rice. HaD to pay an additional $10 on top of the $30 or so for my dish to get rice.
