Comment: This was my first time going, i would say that this place is a hidden gem. The service is great. The person at the cash register, Lian, was super helpful and nice. Since this is my first time going she helped me pick out what to eat. Her suggestions were very tasty. It was a little pricey but it was all worth it in the end. I would say I’m very pleased and I would 100% recommend. Most definitely coming back!!

Comment: Ill be honest, this is the last place Id have guessed would feel like home, but the staff at this GGC legitimately remember things weve talked about that my friends havent asked about before. Its a mile walk for me, so Im there at weird afternoon hours when I can get the longer lunch break, and maybe its that, but Im a sucker for just about any type of Japanese curry, go-go included, so Ill be back for sure.

Comment: This place was great at one time, but after the pandemic the portions are only a third of what they used to be. I do understand that it is hard and that they need to make money. But today was the last straw. While I was eating the employees decided to mop the floor with a very heavily scented bucket of water! I am happy that they cared enough to clean the place. Unfortunately they did it while I was still eating and the strong smell just made the food not taste good. I kind of felt sick after that so I just didnt finish my food and left.

Comment: Perfect for a quick meal before catching the bus. Food was served very quickly and everything tasted amazing. The katsu was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Curry was the tiniest bit of spicy and it went perfectly with everything else on the plate. Even the lettuce on the side was fresh and a great palate cleanser. Overall Im very satisfied 🤤

Comment: I got the “Home Run” platter. It came with your choice of katsu (I got pork), a boiled egg, shrimp tempura, and obviously curry all over a bed of rice.I really like the curry here and it’s a great spot to get fast food that’s not a burger or fried chicken. It is a bit pricey compared to how filling it is but if I’m feeling like some quick curry, I’m heading here.

Comment: Go go Curry is so freaking good. I recommend the sausage tempura believe it or not. It is actually so fire. The only way I would ever improve this is if the food itself was a little hotter. We did go at the end of the night so it wasnt cold or anyting. The flavor itself though so awesome. I love the atmosphere and the workers were very friendly. The commercials playing on the TV are outstanding. Go go Curry will soon be embedded into your brain and you will know nothing more than go go curry listen to the propaganda and accept it is the future.

Comment: They’re back and just as good as always. This is a great hidden gem and I highly recommend eating here. Japanese curry is some of the best food you will ever eat. Not to be confused with Indian curry (no offense to Indian food). I have been a customer of Go Go Curry for over 10 years and I never get sick of it. If its your first time, I suggest getting a medium chicken katsu with normal rice and gravy. It also comes with cabbage, but I normally get it with cheese instead. If you love cheese like I do, then have them add cheese to your order. Give this place a try, but be prepared to become addicted.

Comment: Ive always seen this type of food in anime and thought it would be cool to check it out. Ive never had curry or chicken katsu before. The meal was delicious! I got the more expensive dish that comes with sausage and a fried shrimp so that along with a can of some came out to about $20. It could probably be a bit cheaper but the tax is what makes it cost more, they cant help that. Theres rice below the curry so theres more food than it looks on the plate. Its a good treat to have occasionally. The restaurant is small, with only two tables and a bar along the side wall with a few seats. They have 1 TV that plays Japanese commercials for the restaurant. Theres no subtitles so Im not sure what it says. The place is clean but the lighting is a bit dull. The restaurant seems to be a chain so I suppose they cant help the look if theyre trying to maintain a certain aesthetic. The small staff is friendly. Give this place a try at least once.

Comment: First time having gogo curry Ive had curry in japan when I was 18 and this is the closest thing you will get to over there, authentic flavors and fresh ingredients, the curry is thick and flavorful, the chicken katsu was fresh crispy and juicy, and the shredded cabbage was nice and refreshing, just not super cheap I got a medium chicken katsu and soda and it came out to about 20$, still worth checking out if your by times Square.

Comment: Got introduced to this place during NYCC 2021 and I looooove their gyudon. Since gaining more popularity, though, their prices have gone up though! It kind of sucks especially since the last time I went they just microwaved my beef. It’s delicious, don’t get me wrong, but there definitely should be a better way of preparing my food for $16 gyudon in a small container! Do better, I love you guys!!!! But I would never do that, ESPECIALLY when I know my customer is watching.

Comment: Been going here for years, its not the cheapest thing but its certainly not expensive. Tasty and filling. Sometimes depending on who is working the curry can be a little on the salty side but other than that its a good, cozy, flavorful curry. Even on its own over rice without toppings of you are avoiding fried food. Just know this is a pork based curry (not much pork flavor though) Personally favor the chicken katsu topping, shrimp and sausage are also good. The Go-go pack is totally worth it if you arent nearby, easy it as served with rice, various noodles, cauliflower rice or try whatever. We usually get drinks at the shop around the corner though. The employees are always wonderful and work hard, sometimes only one person doing everything so tip if you can.

Comment: Definitely one of my Top go to Dinner places. I usually get a Large Pork Katsu with extra pork which comes up to about $18.....without the extra pork....its around $15. katsu, also known as panko Pork is a Japanese dish of fried pork made with panko bread crumbs. So its breaded pork fried and topped with Japanese curry. It is delicious and a must try I would say if your in the area.

They have Chicken, Pork, Shrimp and Sausage Curry.A Medium Katsu Curry for $10 is a good regular portion and a bit spicy. Comment: It was my brothers birthday and he loves Japanese food. So he suggested I look for a hole in the wall Japanese place where I could get authentic Japanese food. After my class, I quickly looked up for the closest Japanese place. Sakura is nearby but this one had the small outlet feel to it. The small chicken katsu is about 7 bucks. I ordered a medium since I was celebrating and had a big appetite. The chicken katsu comes with sauce on a bed of Japanese rice and thinly sliced cabbage and raddish. I devoured the whole plate and it cost 10$. It can feed two people Loved that the food is fresh. On a Saturday afternoon, there was hardly anyone. The service is prompt and the place is clean. Loved it and would definitely come back for other katsu....

If you have a larger appetite, you should consider going for some of their larger options. The place is small and seating is limited, try to get there before or after rush hour. We got there right around 12pm and it was empty but 15 minutes later, there were 20 people in line.Delivery is extremely fast for the regular. I ordered and not one minutes later, got my order.

Comment: Perfectly same with the original. You can enjoy a Japanese popular curry with a low price in Manhattan.Go Go Curry is a popular local curry in Japan. The curry source has a very rich taste, a little different from a typical one in Japan. Theyre famous for a lot of, sometimes too many, toppings such as pork cutlet.I tried a basic menu, Katsu curry (pork). I was delighted to have the same experience with that in Japan. Very rich source and crispy pork cutlet. The point is you can have it with a very low price. Generally speaking, Japanese dishes in US cost two to three times more compared to those in Japan. This currys price in Manhattan is only a little higher than that in Japan. Its amazing.

You can customize your curry with a lot of different kinds of toppings, such as sausages, eggs, katsu (fried pork or chicken), vegetables etc. Their customer service is normal. Comment: Nice curry spot. The different sizes refer to the amount of rice you want. The amount of curry and meat is the same unless you have add-ons. The pork katsu is good... crunchy and moist. Sometimes I’ll splurge and get a hard boiled egg or pork sausage added to my meal.

Comment: I love Go Go Curry! They have some of the cheapest, most affordable curry that’s actually authentic and delicious! For around 7-9 dollars you can grab a small, which is more than enough to fill up one person with a moderate appetite (like me). The katsu that’s served with the curry is freshly fried and cut for you. The curry is darker in color and not as sweet as other Japanese curry shops, but very flavorful. They give a little salad on the side with a mayo based dressing (mixes well with the curry and rice!)There’s plenty of toppings to give you a varied experience each time. The decor is also kinda funky, a huge gorilla there as their mascot. Great good, decent service, would definitely come again and again.

Comment: From my experience in eating all types of curry, it seems like its more on the Korea side . It isnt comparable to other types of Japanese currys I have had. This is coming from a person that has lived in Japan for over 2 years and has also tried Korean curry. Still very taste! My son and I are curry fanatics and left satisfied.

Comment: Best quick service restaurant for Japanese curry and practically the only!Prompt service and friendly staff. Very reasonable prices. They use good quality Japanese sticky rice and always cooked perfectly. Also, very good bold tasting Japanese curry and not too salty. This Japanese curry is not spicy at all. Highly recommended toppings: pork sausage, shrimp tempura and pork katsu. Would definitely come back to this location or any other locations.

Comment: I love Go Go Curry. The only problem is that this place is so popular, the place is small and getting a seat can be difficult. The Grand Slam is the best value. They recommend it for 4 people. Ignore them, I say its for 2. The plate is not small but the food is so good, both of you will eat the suggested serving for 2 (or save the rest for later). Also, its a bit confusing about increasing the size of your meal. They told me it merely means more rice.

Comment: This is my second time eating from here and my first time eating in the store but Ive been seriously impressed both times. The service has been quick and the cashiers were friendly and accommodating. The food was piping hot and the katsu and tempura had the light crisp of something only freshly fried. The portion size of the Home Run is perfect for me (also a good way to sample the different topping options) and depending on the day it could even be a little too filling. The food is delicious and Id recommend anyone to go there.

Comment: Had the chicken katsu with rice and curry. Was very good, the curry is really delicious. You can choose pork katsu, chicken katsu, pork sausage or shrimp over rice and curry with shredded cabbage. Katsu is the type of dish - pounded, panko breaded, deep fried meat which is cut into strips. There are also some combo specials and vegetarian options. The original curry sauce is pork based but it looks like they have a vegetarian sauce as well. Good price for the quantity and quality of food. There is a small seating area and you order and pick up from the counter.

Comment: After taking a quick trip to NJ, I feel kinda starving and decided to find something for lunch, thats when I come across this branch of the classic Japanese chain store. The first look would very likely fool you to think its just a typical American style Japanese bistro. But it turned out to retained enough taste of the original shop in Japan. Not saying this shop would be fantastic choice to try out what Japanese curry rice should be, it just happened to be worth every buck you spend here. The spot is clean (enough for this price), the portion is nice, and the pricing is affordable. I would consider it as an ideal spot around the Penn station to fill up ones belly.

I guess I like it, but I feel like I expect it to be better. Gets packed sometimes and its awkward to stand around. Then there are people that eat in the restaurant with a dozen people standing around them... but if its too packed there are other places to go nearby.

Comment: No vegetarian options at this location (unless youre getting catering), so this is mainly thanks to the staff. Theyre all friendly and very efficient. There are always two massive lines during the lunch rush (one for cash, one for card) but they handle it amazingly well. You wont be waiting for long, even if youre ordering for the entire company. This location caters and there are plenty of options to order online from. Seating is limited, but food is passed out so quickly the turnover rate is pretty good. Free water next to the register and no table service so you can get as much as youd like without bothering anyone. They must have great curry though, as everyone Ive brought here thoroughly enjoys it. Keep in mind theres no bathroom here! No, the door on the right isnt a secret bathroom. Its an entrance to the hotel next door which will deny you bathroom access, so dont bother. $10 card minimum that can easily be achieved with a single sized curry and a soda or tea, or a walk size with extra toppings +/- a drink.

From the crispy pork belly to the five spice duck breast....everything was mouth watering....The wine selection is great from white to red and the service was spectacular.....My only complaint was that I had to read the fine print of the menu and ask for water to be served because they are trying to conserve from the drought...my only suggestion would be to verbalize this to your customers because unless you read the find print at the bottom of the menu...you sit wondering why they are not serving water.....Other than that it was a great experience!

Comment: If you think youre someone who doesnt like curry, then youve probably never had Japanese style curry. GoGoCurry is a low key, fast service restaurant. You probably wouldnt notice it just walking down 8th Avenue, but its worth walking into for their budget friendly, and flavorful filling food. Go during the off hours if you want to make sure you have a seat. All their meals feature their signature pork-based curry sauce served over sticky rice. I always go for the pork cutlet, the katsu, but you can have chicken, sausage, shrimp, or eggs atop your curry. If you bring a friend (or are extremely hungry), try the Grand Slam for a big platter with a little of everything. But whether you go simple or go bold, you cant choose wrong!

But, after I tasted the chicken katsu curry, that came with shrimp, sausage, a boiled egg, and rice, my opinion instantly changed.Despite not being fond of the look of the place, I bought the food anyway, because I was hungry and in a rush. Comment: Wow! This is super cool to find a restaurant specifically for Japanese curry! Plus, they have that Gumi poster! It makes it all the more awesome ;3Anyhow, onto the food! They are one of those restaurants that uses short-grained rice, which goes really well with the curry. The curry was a bit not so savory for me, but it was still really good! I would recommend getting a portion size that gives enough rice. (Maybe a single?). Anyhow, their tonkatsu (pork) was pretty soft for a fast-food joint. Also, their sausages taste sorta similar to hot dogs, and if youre like me, thats a good thing. Also, they have a HUGE variety of possible toppings you can add on. They even have cheese!

Comment: Whenever Im craving Japanese curry, this is the place to go. Really good hearty portions and great selections to go with the oh-so-delicious curry. Favorite is the chicken katsu with curry. Definitely wished they opened a spot closer to home, but if they did I would probably end up living in there.

Comment: The place to go for lunch is here. The lines may be long but definitely worth checking out. Every month if you go on a day that has a 5 in it, they hand out free topping coupons and those coupons are worth it. You could double up your meat meaning you could get pork and chicken which is what I usually get. The curry just tastes really great here and it is my favorite.

Comment: One of my favorite spots for lunch. They have some of the best Japanese curry (not spicy) with rice and pork katsu. Definitely try some of the toppings, and toss some hot sauce on your food. Not a lot of seating, and it can get quite busy on weekdays during lunch, so plan your lunch break accordingly.

Comment: Ive never had Japanese curry before but Im glad I tried it. Portions are pretty big and cost is low.The chicken or pork cutlets are fried and there must be a ton of salt in the sauce, so look elsewhere if youre looking to eat healthy.

Comment: The food is awesome! The curry is very rich and flavorful, also the portion is huge for the price. you will not go home hungry. Unfortunately, the decor is disappointing...I understand its more like a take out restaurant, but when I go in, I feel like I want to get out of the place as soon as possible. thats my only complaint.

Comment: I came across this place while going a random search for Japanese food; I decided to give it a try and I was happy I did. Go Go Curry isnt along my usual way (work and home), so I dont go as often as I would like, but I still make the effort to drop by every once in a while to enjoy their curry and katsu. Their portion is fulfilling and I finish every time. I like that there is a water cooler, so you really dont need to buy a drink. This place isnt fancy, but there are a lot of news articles and memorabilia hanging on the walls and there is a cozy feeling. In my opinion, I think the chicken and pork katsu tastes very similar, so sometimes I cant tell the difference, all I know is- they are both delicious, so you cant go wrong with either, or why not have both! They also have specials where you can get a free topping coupon, so you can check out their storefront poster or website notifications for the dates.

Comment: GO GO Curry has the best Japanese Curry Dish anywhere in the NYC area. I go here a couple of times a month and never get sick of it. They dont have sushi or any other Japanese food but only their very delicious curry. Try the Chicken or pork curry with rice and youll understand. They are the best!

Comment: I just ate at a go go curry in Japan, and the curry was comparable to the one there. Big portions. Soul food, especially great on cold days.
