Comment: I found the same type of yakiniku restaurant owned by Hiroshi Nohara❤️🔥~The overall environment makes me want to have a drink or two.I looked at the wine list and saw Dassai 23. It was the same as what I bought outside.There is no price increase. But there is a personal tax.There are three packages. No need to do the whole process yourselfIts all about putting it in your mouth.Each piece has a different taste with different heat!

Comment: Came here for the first time tonight for dinner and was totally blown away. The quality of the food, price for the amount of food, and the deliciousness of the courses were beyond my expectations. Also loved the ambiance and getting your meal cooked at your table. Most of all the service was outstanding and a really fun experience. I live in the neighborhood and I’m so sad I only discovered Hiyake now. Can’t wait to go back and bring family and friends who are visiting.

Comment: Me and couple friends are in Williamsburg area so decided to give this place a try after a good experience at their Chinatown location.This location offers a little different menu, but the service is still excellent. They cook all the meat for me for us, definitely need some skills because the meat are very marble and delicate, if using too much force it looks like they will break apart.We ordered the basic Yakiniku box ($58) which only available Monday to Thursday. Comes with 4 different cuts of meat each 2oz, total 8oz of meat it isn’t a lot but very satisfying. They also have a house salad that’s very refreshing to begin and a matcha crepe cake to finish. Each meat cook differently with different topping hat complement the meat really well to enhance the tastes. Meat are very fresh and fatty. If you are hungry, I highly recommend to try a bigger box.

Comment: Came here on Saturday during lunch time. There was no wait and we got seated right away. Nice and clean inside. The place isn’t very big. Have a few booths with 1 grill in the middle, and few tables without the grills. There’s also a bar in the middle. They offered high chair for children.We ordered:•Ribeye steak (which you cook yourself)•Pan fried chuck rib bento box which comes with rice, seaweed salad, an egg and 1 asparagus cut into 3 tiny stripes.*I personally really enjoy the chuck rib. Loved the flavor and the juiciness and tenderness of the meat.Both the waitresses who tended to us were very nice and attentive. Making sure everything was alright with our orders and our needs.

Comment: My coworker and I visited Hiyake for the first time this past week and had a lovely dinner. Neither of us had ever had Japanese style BBQ before so we opted with getting items from the ala carte Yakiniku menu. I really liked that the menu had pictures of all of the cuts of meat that was offered. This was a life saver for us newbies. The server also gave us recommendations on which ones to try. We ended up getting the short rib, ribeye steak, chicken breast, garlic shrimp, eel, and mushrooms. We also got some cooked appetizers of takoyaki, shrimp tempura, and seaweed salad. We loved the cooked appetizers that we ordered. The Takoyaki was delicious, and the shrimp tempura was fried perfectly. The seaweed salad had bits of fried garlic on top which was a nice touch.The staff were very attentive, and our server cooked all of the meats for us. Most of the meat are either lightly marinated or just seasoned with salt and pepper. There is sweet soy sauce and chilli powder for dipping the cooked meat. The focus is really the cut and taste of the meat, and you use the dipping sauce to add flavor. The ingredients all were fresh and good quality. My favorite was the short rib which had really nice beefy flavor. It was tender and juicy. The ribeye steak was more filling, had more bite and was a bit chewy. Another favorite was the eel. It came to the table partially cooked and then was grilled at the table. It was very tender and juicy. The shrimp was just okay. On the menu it said it was garlic shrimp but I didn’t really taste any garlic flavor.Although the portions were small, the quality of the food was great. I also liked the straightforward approach to how the food was cooked and served. And I must say this was a really great introduction to Japanese BBQ.

Comment: Came here last Saturday, and there was no wait. The stuffs served the food very quickly, we were non stop eating the whole time, very satisfied, especially it was so cold outside, BBQ just so perfect, very cozy inside. The meat quality was pretty good, we tried all beef BBQ, we love pretty much everything. But my favorite was Kobe Waygu, Tenderloins and Blade Steak. I also love their dry pepper flakes and secret sauce, so tasty and perfect for the meat.

Comment: Had a Saturday night reservation and service + quality was top notch. Wagyu was unmatched, meat was thin and has amazing flavor. They even did a gratitude poor where we were served sakè in a Masu square wooden cup. My boyfriend and I had the best time and the owner and his sister made us feel so welcome with great service. Will definitely be back!
