Comment: Went here for the first time with family, we were celebrating a birthday. We got there just before 9:00 and it wasn’t busy at all which was nice, we got a table right away. However the rest of the experience wasn’t great. Our chef seemed to be sick and the hood above the flattop was broken and the smoke wasn’t being cleared at all leaving the smoke to be all in our faces for the whole show. Ended up being very unenjoyable since smoke was in our eyes and one of the kids in our family has asthma. Manager came over and his only suggestion was to move to a new table however food was already being cooked so I don’t know how that was supposed to work. Food was good but I don’t know if I’ll be back

Comment: The service is timely, the sushi is fresh and it is run by a nice Japanese family.They have a great intimate bar with a large screen TV as soon as you walk in to the left.Dined in a few times at the Bar early in the evening. Clean also, girls room always has been orderly and clean. That says a lot about the place as well.

Comment: I decided to come here last minute after seeing the taco bar across the street was closed and was pleasantly surprised. The service was quick and food tasted good. The staff could have been more attentive (we ran out of soy sauce and it took a while for our bill to come), but otherwise no major complaints.

By the time the five of us were finished eating, every table was full.Five adults ate enough to be stuffed, did not drink any alcohols, and the check was only eighty nine dollars.Everything was prepared beautifully and was delicious. There was no trouble communicating with the wait staff and they were polite and helpful. I cant wait to go back.

Comment: We were a party of 20 at the hibachi. Hostess was extremely nice. I had sushi and the maki rolls were delicious. Better than Izumi off Sunrise imo.Cook did upset one of the party when they squirt the sake into your mouth. She clearly wanted him to stop but he kept squirting it at her. My recommendation is to skip the sake squirts.I see a few reviews talk about understanding the staff, and it was hard at times but everyone was nice about it. Also, it is worth mentioning that a few times the waitress forgot to bring out a drink that was ordered but once reminded she went right in the back and grabbed it immediately.

Comment: Amazing sushi (we had the mango sushi,) talented chefs and great atmosphere. Little on the pricey side but its is worth the bucks for great service, upscale atmosphere, and amazing food.

Comment: Absolutely love this place I enjoy the atmosphere the food is always fresh and delicious a few of the waiters are not too friendly and talkative can be a little straight face at times but overall I enjoy visiting this place the delicious food and the waiters who are friendly and do interact with their customers make up for the few who dont.

Comment: The scorpion bowl says its for two, but after last night, Im certain its just a suggestion. Our waiter Shawn was very good. Fried cheesecake was a bit disappoint, but everything else was fantastic.

Comment: If you dont like this place youre an idiot, you cant find a better sushi place outside of NYC (Ive never been or of the country). The owner has introduced himself on several occasions, the bartender in the front knows how to make some mean cocktails and serves great cold beer, the hibachi grill is amazing and entertaining. Other than that good luck finding parking.

Comment: I usually go to the Hoshi in Stony Brook but this one is just as good food wise. The styling inside is not my favorite in comparison to the feel of the other Hoshi but that doesnt mean its bad.

Comment: A wonderful place for sushi, hibachi and other Asian cuisine. Their prices are reasonable always, but I highly suggest visiting during the afternoon for their lunch specials. You can enjoy some of their best dishes at a significant discount.The atmosphere is swanky, but comfortable and the staff is attentive and friendly. Youll feel like youre at an upscale restaurant. Ive never had a bad experience. Its great for small lunch dates and meetings as well as a fun dinner party spot.

Comment: Ive been here twice, most recently last night. I have had a generally good experience but I did see something last night I was not thrilled with.My wife and I were waiting for 2 friends to arrive for hibachi. As we waited, a waitress (Piper) came out of the back speaking loudly to another employee about how shes tired of the hostess screwing something up. She came to the hostess stand and proceeded to berate the hostess in front of customers and other employees. That should have been done in private, regardless of what the hostess did. It was unprofessional.As a waitress, she was fine. The food is fine and other service was also good. I agree with other customers that the place is a bit pricey, but Ive seen worse from establishments of equal quality. The prices are probably high because the reviatlized Patchogue area thinks its a major hotspot.
