Comment: Amazing from start to finish! It was complete mayhem 2 days before Christmas; the waiting area and bar were packed, but the front staff handled the chaos with pure professionalism! Yes we were seated 45 minutes after our reservation time, but we understood how busy they were and were willing to wait for the scrumptious dishes Ichiban is known for. The wait staff were attentive and expeditious with our orders. Chef Joseph, who we learned later is the new owner, was absolutely fantastic and entertaining. We have been going here for 15 of my eldest daughters 30 birthdays and can definitely say this visit was the most fun and entertaining. He kept us engaged the whole time, and he is one hell of a good cook!! I was a bit Leary when I learned it was under new management, but I feel it is just as good if not better than before. Kudos to the entire Ichiban staff, you rocked it!! Thank you chef Joseph, we cant wait until our next meal from this delightful restaurant!

We brought her tonight and they were so accommodating and had a solid food allergy plan so I felt very at ease. They prepared her dinner separately and she ate it with no issues. Great experience!

Also they no longer provide the adorable Geisha and Buddha mugs 🎎 with tiny umbrellas for the Alcohol beverages 🍹 (those really MADE the drink and were awesome souvenirs).But on the up side, my 55️⃣ year old son was completely attentive 👀 and entertained 🤩 with at table cooking. He was amazed with the fire 🔥🌋 show and thought the hibachi chef 🧑‍🍳 little tricks 🥚🍳🍤 were hilarious 😃.And he thought his floating marble soda was the coolest 😎(Ramune; non-alcoholic, caffeine-free beverage in glass bottle with pinched bottle neck and floating glass marble atop the pinch of the neck. Similar to carbonated lemonade. Comes in variety of flavors. He picked orange 🍊)He was so amused he ate without fussing that he didnt like it because he didnt know what it was 🥡 and he even attempted using chopsticks 🥢Definitely a place of many happy memories 🌸 around the dinner table, with great food and family, friends and strangers alike 💗

The table had a little crum on it, which I excused, but only because it was hard to see anything else due to the dim lighting and black marble finish. Then the plates came out and did not look as clean as they should have been visible smudges.

Comment: Can I just say, WOW! I was kind of skeptical because of the bad reviews, but this is hands down one of the best meals Ive ever eaten. For sure, the best lobster. If you are into seafood, the garlic butter lobster and shrimp is a must try.. Ive never tasted anything so good. It was such a pleasant surprise and nice ending to my day at Six Flags. The drinks are strong and service is friendly. The freshest ingredients, homemade soy sauce, and delicious fried rice, and I couldnt get enough sushi. It was such a treat. Still talking about it and I went 4 days ago. The hibachi cook is so skilled and does amazing unique tricks, no wonder this place has been open for 20 years! Mom and Pop at its best! You get what you pay for. I will be back!

Comment: Sitting at a Hibachi during COVID, with strangers, was a little uncomfortable at first but Ichiban has done a really good job with placing partitions in between groups. You can still enjoy the full experience, talk with the other groups all while maintaining social distance. And, most importantly, the food was delicious as always! I had the Filet Mignon Hibachi and my husband had the Seafood platter Hibachi and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly.

Comment: Much improved since my previous visit. The first and only time I had ever gone prior to this was miserable. Because of my seafood allergy and dislike of most meats, I ended up having veggie fried rice and paying almost the same as those that got a full hibachi dinner. That was probably about 10 years ago but Ive pretty much refused to go back since. I finally gave in because as much as we like japanese food, between my seafood allergy and my husbands mushroom allergy, we cant eat at most Asian restaurants. This time my husband called ahead and made sure they could accommodate for our allergies and they said they could, so I gave in. Im glad I did! Aside from some very complain-y people at the table next to us, it was delightful. They cooked things separate where necessary without sacrificing the quality. My husband even got his own special batch of fried rice just to make sure there was no mushroom remnants in it. Anywho, I am no longer anti-Ichiban! Their prices are comparable to all of the other japanese places around here and they are able to accommodate where most of the others cant. They are also willing to allow you to order from the childrens menu if youve had bariatric surgery, so keep that in mind if youre a wls patient!

More expensive than the usual night out, but definitely worth it for the added fun of the grilltop table. The steak was cooked perfectly and the chef caught all of the shrimp, so he gets extra bonus points, and a sixth star if i could add one.

Comment: The food is always amazing. Much better than the Hibichi places in the Utica/Rome area. The food was cooked and flavored perfectly, not bathed in oils or heavy sauces. We also had the Yoshi Roll, which was honestly the best sushi roll Ive ever had. It made for a lovely birthday dinner, with enough leftovers for 3 meals!

Comment: I love Ichibans! Excellent atmosphere and wonderful chefs! Great signature drinks and dishes. It is quite pricey but, in my opinion, it is well worth the price. There is an incredible selection of sushi plates. The experience is worth it to see atleast once.

Comment: I have been here handful times and always enjoyed the hibachi. This visit we decided to have a regular table which is just as good cause you can still see the Hibachi show. This visit was better than others the both of the hostess were so friendly they checked on us a few times and chatted for a bit, suggested some of their favorites and made our visit generally a pleasure. Our waitress is also very wonderful and helpful answered our questions and kept our glasses full. In the past they seemed to be just trying to get through their shift and not enjoying their job. Well done Ichiban this visit was fantastic!

Comment: Food is absolutely delicious. I am following a points program for weight management and my entire meal definitely fit into my meal plan with points leftover. The restaurant is clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. It did seem we waited longer than usual, but the food was worth the wait.

Comment: Party of 5. Came in without a reservation at about 2:30PM. Happened to walk in with a party of 6, and we were seated in less then 5 minutes.Waitress was more than helpful and especially nice.Ordered 2 speciality sushi rolls. Dragon & Pro Roll. Tasted great!The hibachi chef was well mannered, and he allowed people to retake instagram photos after they missed the shot, for the third time.Portions are large and I recommend the filet mignon with teriaki sauce. Everything tasted wonderful.

Comment: Fun experience to have the chef cook your food to order in front of you. Used to go with the crew for sake bombs and now take my kids there to enjoy the onion volcano light show. Wait times can be long but you should know this going in. Prices are steadily climbing thru the years so be ready for that.I generally get the Sushi and Sashimi platter and never have had a bad experience. Rest of my family gets something off the Hibachi.Their mustard sauce is truly amazing. We pay for more when we leave so we have it at home.
