Comment: Very popular and the wait time can range from 30min to an hour (or even longer -really depends on the days). Would recommend to come in an hour before they close because it’s not that many people coming in around that time.So far… THIS IS THE BEST RAMEN I’VE EVER HAD BY FAR!!!

Comment: If you wish to have a truly Japanese experience and great ramen, Ichiran is your place. After queuing (not for long in our case) youll order at a screen. The typical choice is their famous Tonkatsu (pork broth) Ramen. You can customize your Ramen by adding extra meat, noodles or some sides. Youll also choose the firmness of noodles, amount of garlic and chilli and so on while ordering at the screen. After that youll be assigned a seat which is a unique way of dining. Each patron is sat at a long table that is divided by a wooden separation for each seat. In front of you, the staff will hand you your order and then close it again. A very new and interesting experience. However if you want to talk to your neighbor the separation can be removed. The Ramen are simply amazing, best Ive had so far, hands down. You dont have to order a drink, water is available for free.

Comment: I love ICHIRAN in Japan and was happy to try it in NY. The soup was ok but the noodles were a bit different than in Japan. Over all a nice place but way to expensive! The staff came along a bit rude which isn’t really the Japanese way! I wouldn’t visit this place again because it is overpriced.

Comment: When it comes to ramen, Ichiran is top tier. This is the second location I’ve been to in Manhattan. Due to it being close to Times Square, I imagined it being a miserable wait but the staff is not only friendly, but has a great system for seating. A must try while in the city.

Comment: The ramen was nice, they serve only tonkotsu so the menu is limited. I went to a few places in Japan like this private booth eating, but here you had much more interaction and the guy next to me was on his phone shouting the whole time, stuff you expect to get in New York but would not be tolerated in Japan. 3.8/5

Comment: I arrived at opening time, yet half of the seats were already taken. This place is bustling! Being Koreans, we opted for level 2 and 3 donkotsu ramen, and level 3 turned out to be quite spicy! My boyfriend and I were thoroughly pleased with the flavorful broth and the delightful matcha dessert. While the prices arent low, its definitely worth a try.Good for party of 1 !! (혼밥러 추천!!)

Comment: You need to understand the system here to value it. Order and pay at the door. Then through a curtain to a cross between a perch and a stable stall - solo eating space with your food delivered through an opening at the back of your booth. Kinda dystopian but delivered with friendliness. Think blade runner solo dining. Couples can fold the partition to talk but it’s no more sociable than that. Noodles are really fresh and the broth is tasty. Customisable to taste, it could become a favourite for a no-nonsense noodle nosh near Times Square. Taken together a great experience as a one-off and a handy place for regular dining for tonkotsu lovers.

Comment: One of the best & real ramen in the states! My husband had tried this ramen in Japan, and he said it was exactly the same as the ramen he had in Japan. So if you want to try real Japanese ramen, you gotta try Ichiran. You can choose the spiciness. But if you cant eat spicy, I recommend the lowest level. I choose the lowest level as well. For the price, its Manhatten, so its expensive for ramen. The way people sit at the table is unusual. You cant sit across from your companions. Its a Japanese style and a different and new & fun experience. The staff are friendly.

Comment: Ichiran is amazing but be prepared to pay the difference for Times Square prices. In Japan, a bowl of ramen at Ichiran costs about $7 USD, at this location, it’s $21 per bowl. Two of us went, we both got a drink, an add on side and a matcha pudding to split and our total was $96. If you’re here try Ichiran, you won’t regret it but be prepared for the price.

Comment: Although I didnt try Ichiran when I was in Tokyo, but I was so so happy to finally try this delicious ramen directly in Ichiran. I tried their Halal version of Ichiran instant ramen before, but believe me, if you could eat Non Halal foods, do try their Classic Tonkotsu Ramen. Its totally worth to try!!!And just like Ichiran said in the the front store, it is WORTH THE WAIT! Just like us, who had waited for around 15 minutes, finally we got seated with the typical Japanese solo seating booths. They also provide hanger for us to hang our outer or bag, especially during the cold or winter day.We tried their Classic Tonkotsu Ramen with additional toppings as recommended by Ichiran 😁A bowl of thick and straight noodles with tender pork, boiled egg, seaweed, green onions in a classic Tonkotsu soup that is made with pork bone and rich in collagen along with the spicy red sauce (it tastes moderate spicy). It came up in a huge portion, especially with additional toppings. But it will make us satisfied to the max!Well done, Ichiran! Its totally recommended!!! ❤️

Comment: 10/10 the best ramen I’ve ever had. I’m usually underwhelmed by vegetarian ramen compared to its meaty-brothed peers on the menu but the veggie ramen here is absolutely divine (the fact that you can customise it and tweak it to your liking is honestly worth raving about for another paragraph). I’ve never been so addicted to the broth, would recommend it as a cure for every cold winter-y afternoon. I also love the atmosphere that accommodates to solo customers.

Comment: ICHIRAN offers an unconventionally fast food experience wrapped in an efficient operation. The restaurant has developed an system to move patrons through the restaurant at maximum speed without impacting quality. While there is a trade off in atmosphere, the system is well optimized. Before you walk into the restaurant, each patron is handed a sheet of paper to select how he/she wants their Raman customized. The display on the wall tells waiter which spot is open to accept a new customer. There is no table in the restaurant and all customers sit at a long table with wood dividers between tables. Divider between ajoining stalls may be collapsed to offer additional interactivity. The Raman broth is deliciously dense without a hint of the fake flavors from MSG often felt on restaurant of a lesser pedigree . The added side dishes included a perfectly prepared egg with yolks still tender. The noodles are chewy with excellent texture. While the additional pork may not be earth shattering, it tasted fresh with a light hint of seasoning. Overall, the store delivers its signature promise of a delicious bowl of Raman without compromise.ICHIRAN is often rated as one of the top RAMAN restaurant for a good reason. Any compromises is taken deliberately and the system has been optimized for efficiency. If you are in the neighborhood of Radiocity or Time square. A short line is ultimately worth the trade off for this interesting experience.

Comment: Great service, great food (and Yakibuta) as always. This one is cramped with the seats seeming to be tighter together, as expected of the location.Honestly though, I prefer the Ichirans in hk, because they had taps (for water) in the booths themselves! It was a good introverted experience back there. But of course NY has its normalcy and trust issues, so none of that here lol

Comment: *To be clear the place was really good*. Maybe I just had HIGH expectations. Have always wanted to experience this level of ramen, mind immediately goes to the original store in Japan. I feel like this one just fell short. Again maybe I had unrealistic hopes. Was still a very good bowl of ramen. Had probably a 45minute wait, but every place here at 6pm has a line it seems. Price was on point with everywhere else in times square. About $100 for two ballpark.

Comment: Their ramen is genuinely amazing. Its completely different from usual ramen, not just in the sense that it tastes incredible but in that the resulting dish is a completely different experience. The noodles arent as chewy or thick or wavy like regular ramen noodes but they are perfectly firm and tasty. But the killer is the broth because the flavor is deep and rich, with the spicy sauce actually being spicy in a way that supports the dish instead of taking center stage. The ramen is genuinely one of the best foods Ive eaten and you can customize it as much as you want. The only thing Im upset about is that the new payment system is upfront and using a kiosk. Its probably more efficient and less error prone and cheaper but it does ruin the experience. I liked deciding my ramen beforehand using the written menu and handing it in. Now all you get is a generic, unpersonalized service with an ugly receipt as the main method of ordering. I admit this is just complaining because I understand why the change was made, but it still makes me sad.

Comment: A little overhyped but i’m glad i got to try it! the ramen here was really tasty and is rich in flavour. i got the classic tonkotsu with an egg on the side. the egg came in its shell and on the side which was a little surprise to me lol.i like how you are able to customize the ramen to your own liking, and it really gives the same vibe as how they do it in Japan. the atmosphere here is great honestly, and I can appreciate the single seating.i personally prefer thicker noodles but that is a personal preference that i can get by. the thin noodles were great and were cooked to my liking.they have a no tipping policy here which is also great! however with no tipping, the ramen is on the pricier side ($20+ USD) but this would be similar to paying for a ramen with tip anyways.i would recommend this place to try it out one time, but it would not be a go to.

Comment: Tasty Tonkotsu ramen in a unique and authentic setting. Seating is in individual booths, although you can fold the partitions so youre not completely cut off from the rest of your party. There was a bit of a line to get in the restaurant so be prepared for that. Orders are taken just inside the door on touch screens. I got the classic ramen and just followed all the recommendations on noodle firmness, spice level, etc. Loved it. Definitely wish I could have this ramen more often.

Comment: I loved almost everything about this place. Once youve paid and are inside its like youve been transported to Japan. The atmosphere and the food are too notch! Its individual seating, however if sitting beside a friend you can always fold away the divider and eat together. The only thing that stops me from coming back here is the price. In Japan ramen is a staple food and at a good price almost everywhere you go. Here however youre paying at minimum 30 dollars for a bowl, and thats highway robbery.

Comment: Lined up even early dinner 4-5 pm Sat. Perhaps 30-45 mins.Unique experience! Booth seating with many hooks for coats and bags.Ramen with recommended toppings was the popular option. Here there is much customization, from dashi, noodle soft to firm, spicy...Though let Tonkotsu Ramen was great and aligned to the price and location.Downside was the egg ... Was explained that need to crack and peel the eggshell, and was not a soy sauce marinated egg like some higher end ramen 🍜 meals.Still a good choice for visiting in cold weather unique dining experience.

Comment: Interesting low-social contact (but not zero contact) dining model serving tonkatsu ramen only. Order at kiosks in the entrance lobby, and a few minutes later your name is called out and you are led to your solo dining booth. That was it for human interaction. Water is self serve from a central dispenser, both hot and cold water are available. The ramen is very good, clean-tasting tonkatsu broth with the traditional straight hakata-style noodles, made in house. Heed the posted suggestions and dig in as soon as it arrives; the noodles will change texture while you eat. The standard tonkatsu bowl comes with chashu, scallions, and their signature red pepper paste as toppings for $22. Adding the recommended toppings set (nori, more chashu, kikurage, more scallions, and a soft-boiled egg - though mine was more medium) brings it to $29.50. Come if you want to get the Ichiran dining experience, but there are more reasonably-priced ramen bowls in Manhattan

Comment: Ive eaten at Ichiran in Japan and it took me long enough to eat at their NYC location in midtown. Usually a wait, which is why I havent been here till now, and came about an hour before closing, but was still pretty full inside. My gf and I both ordered the classic tonkotsu Ramen with all the recommended choices and added a soft boiled egg. The chasiu pieces were really small and thin but tasty. The broth was rich and not as salty as other Ramen places, which left me thirsty for hours. It was just the right amount of food that didnt leave me feeling stuffed, and felt comfortable. Would def come back again!

Comment: The best Ramen I have EVER had in my life.Disclaimer - I am not a Ramen connoisseur. I have not eaten in the best Ramen shops in Kyushu. But I spend a lot of time in PNW and we have a lot of Ramen options here. There will be waiting. Even though we came early for dinner (5pm), we had to wait about 20-30mins. If you have a group of 1-2 people you will have a chance to get seated sooner. We were 5 and to be seated together, will require seating planning in the tiny space. The Ichiran experience is very unique and I dont want to spoil it here but its quite cool. How they have a digital seating chart to how they serve you food.We followed their instructions on what to order and what to order. And it is really awesome! I have never eaten a ramen that has such good complementary flavors that blend perfectly. One note - we ordered 2 vegetarian options and they still put meat in it (by mistake). Luckily, the folks who had ordered it didnt mind just removing the meat and eating the rest. We didnt want to waste such good broth.Go early and go in smaller groups. Food comes fast and is so worth it.

Comment: Enjoyed a visit to this ramen spot - its good, but falls a bit short of expectations. The broth lacked the depth I was hoping for, and I ordered my broth with level 1 of burning but if what came was level 1 I don’t even want to dream of imagining level 10. However, the ambiance was pleasant, and the service was quick. With a few tweaks, this place could be a standout. Good experience overall. 🍜😊

Comment: Price: $22Its such a good deal for ramen on this location. However, it can get pretty crowded and busy later on! Get on the line on time or wait for about 10 to 20 mins. It is worth the time.Service: ExcelenteI usually come here once every 3 - 5 months because the ramen is expensive with the add-on toppings. I do really recommend this place alone or with a group. Also, it is a No-Tipping establishment. Meaning that it isnt required to tip for the food, and the price is what you get. They do serve alcohol if you are into that, I prefer ramune.Atmosphere: BusyIf you arent used to be around people be prepared to be around people. In addition, you get private stalls with coverings. The experience is out of this world.

Ramen was excellent, it always hit the spot :)

Comment: The ramen taste just like in Japan. Very consistent and delicious. Definitely need to get the combo that comes with egg, black mushroom and extra cha siu.We waited for about 30-40 minutes to get a seat. But it was weird because inside had a lot of empty seating but filled up as we ate. This place helps fill in the Ramen void but it is literally $30-35 for a bowl of ramen.

Comment: I’ve been wanting to try Ichiran Ramen for ages, based on all the YouTube videos I saw online. After I’ve landed in NYC, I immediately head over to Ichiran. This location is located in the heart of Times Square, so there was a decent amount of people waiting in line at that time. What stands out here is:The cubicle seating environmentThe customization of your orderThe ordering process - good for introverts! The many toilet paper rolls in the restroomNo tipsI waited almost 1.5 hours on an early Friday evening. While waiting in line, I was able to receive a paper menu to write what I wanted.Once seated, you will hand off your menu to the person behind the window in your cubicle seat. The water is self-served, and there is a water dispenser in each of the row seats. Once you are done eating, you will pay at the front register.Food: There is only one ramen available here, the Tonkotsu. Ichiran has a “basic” Tonkotsu ramen set, but basically, everyone orders the additional upcharge “Recommend Toppings Set”.(+) Pros:The tonkotsu broth is pretty tasty in the standard way. I like how the broth isn’t too fatty and thick, like some other ramen places are.The meat slices were pretty flavorful and tender, albeit a bit cold and thin.Their original spicy red sauce!!! This is the star of the show. I like how it doesn’t taste like only chili peppers, but has some depth to it.(-) Cons:I can tell the “Recommend Toppings Set” has already been pre-prepared due to the slightly cold temperature of the egg and meat slices. The egg itself was not as runny as I would have liked and tasted like it to me as being only salt-flavored. Also, you would have to peel your egg!I also bought their instant ramen at the register to go. Please bring your own (durable) bag since the instant ramen is pretty heavy and they charge additional for their paper bags. There are three servings in each instant ramen box, costing almost $10 per serving. My verdict: Very good for instant ramen, but is it worth it for the price? Not really. I would rather pay more and eat at a restaurant or eat cheaper instant ramen at home.

Comment: The broth is delicious and just nice for my taste. I love that we can customize how we want the broth to taste like. The char siu was very tender, noodle has good texture. If you want a more chewvy mouthfeel, do go for a harder level instead of medium. And their service is wonderful too! Very attentive.

Comment: My favorite ramen chain. This location is way better than the Brooklyn one and it’s actually authentic. The broth is rich and the noodles are properly cooked to order. You get to customize every single detail of the noodle from the texture of noodle to the richness of the broth. The concept of eating alone is quite convenient for those who just wanna grab a quick meal. No complex ordering process and constant checking in from the servers. Ichiran is also a non-tipping establishment. Each person would spend a bit over $20 for a meal.

Comment: As far as comparison goes, this place is 90 percents experience compare to Japanese Ichiran, the soups and noodles are almost identical, both rich and full of umami, just like japan you can select the way you want your ramen done, it is however, very expensive, almost 2.5 times more pricey than Japanese Ichiran. As of Aug 2023 a bowl of noodle cost 22 dollars without any additional toppings. Expect long wait time especially in evening and weekends. I wish the bathroom had bidet toilets and a wall of toilet paper rolls just like japan, minor inconvenience.

Comment: I havent been to Japan but I would assume this is the atmosphere of real Japanese ramen restaurant. I was very skeptical of this place as I assumed it was overrated through tourism and brand name. The first mouthful of noodle changed my mine as of why this place has such reputation. Comment: 🤤: would never leave NYC without a visit to Ichiran. taste pretty similar to what I had in Japan (including the original spot in Fukuoka). the thin straight noodle is my personal favorite for the classic tonkotsu broth. be careful with the spicy level, it is not like the usual mild spicy in other Japanese dishes. for a spicy lover, 8 would be an idea point without overpowering the broth.😰: can skip the soft boiled egg.ignore other negative reviews. it’s always worth the wait for me. plus, how rare it is to have a no-tipping establishment in NYC.

Comment: I ordered it to go, and this is what it looks like. I expected more broth and felt like eating in the restaurant we are served bigger portions. Line was ridiculously long at closing time, and I was one of the very last ones to get my food. Food was delicious, but I wouldnt recommend ordering this to go. The experience is better had sitting in the booth and eating in the restaurant with bigger portions. I was happy at least we got the buy one get 1 free promotion on the soup kit but it is pricey especially without any meat.

Comment: Ramen was a chef kiss. I selected all the recommended but choose it to be just one up spicer. It’s not overly creamy or less rich. It’s perfect for all ramen lovers, Id perder a little more but it’ll be another trip for me to test it out again! I’d definitely go again, 10/10 recommend getting all the suggested items for first timers.Water is self serve, tables were clean and service was pleasant. I didn’t understand the wait of having to wait for over 15+ people having to finish eating before at least 5-8 of my party of 2 and the others behind me, but it may just be easier for themLine was not long as we went on a Wednesday

The soup and noodles were great, and the serving size was satisfying. However, the service became quite slow when we wanted the matcha pudding to be served. Comment: You can customize your own Tonkotsu ramen from saltiness, richness to spiciness to have the best experience. You can order extra chashu, soft boiled egg or some of other options for topping. The texture of noodle is chewy and perfect blend with the broth. The place just focus on what they do best: class tonkotsu, simple and unique. I like the booth when you have to eat by yourself. Comment: It’s very simple. You come here because you’re craving ramen, and you’re gonna have a great experience. Don’t overthink the price and whether it’s worth it. It is, and so is the 30 minutes or so wait. Just get the ramen, set your preferences (I think the default medium spice level is perfect, has just the right kick), get all the toppings, and enjoy yourself. Recommend getting the Japanese soda as well, not only for the taste, but it’s also a fun experience.

Comment: Nice and organise, with an easy to find locationPretty much the same concept as the one from Japan just that instead of vending machine, you queue up first, fill in your preference and wait to be seated. They have the same 🈳️ outside the seating area. Once they have vacancy they will direct you in.One of the few difference is they have baby child for kids and kids menu. The ramen taste the same, it’s equally delicious compare to the few branches I had in Japan. The pork Cha Shu was fantastic too, unlike the one I had in Hong Kong which was terrible. The noodle portion seems bigger, but it maybe just me. I enjoyed the ramen here. They have this little placard for you to make payment outside the stall, hence there’s no vending machine. And they stated no tipping required too.

Comment: Wow! Stopped by for a quick lunch on a Friday and luckily there was no line. I was promptly seated along with quick intro on where to get complimentary drinking water, how to order, etc. The order came out quickly and I was in and out in less than half an hour. Upon first sip of the broth, I was blown away - this place is popular for a reason! The noodle is fresh and I especially like how the Chashu (Sliced Pork) barely have any fat unlike most places (personal preference). Besides drinking water, there is also napkin and hand sanitizer at common station. Additionally, there is a coat hanger behind your seat so you can eat more comfortably in winter. After the meal, you take pay card with you that is in cubicle and pay on your way out. Such a good meal and will definitely be back. Make sure you come before 1pm to avoid a line!

Comment: If you like Japanese franchises in the US, youd love this place. The line is a bit long and ordering food can be a bit confusing but once you get used to it, you get good noodles, soft meats and broth that helps take some edge off from the cold from outside. The only gripe I have (the reason why they get 4 ⭐ instead of 5 ⭐) is the price. I cannot justify paying $40 for a bowl of ramen. I get it its NYC its expensive real estate, The staff are paid well and all that but for $40, I can get a decent steak dinner. Its too expensive for the price. If its was $25-30, thats be awesome but I doubt theyll change the price.

But to be honest it’s not as good as I thought, it’s still good but just a pricey. The broth was very watery but flavourful. There is nothing much specific or special about their spice, its like Indian chilli powder mixed with some lentils and other spice powder.I was feeling like I was eating in a canteen at my school or dorms, one booth at a time one person at a time. Wouldnt pay this much for their ambience and food.

Comment: A magical pot of gold at the end of the rainbow awaits those who brave the weather and long line. First time sticking it out and waiting on that long line to finally visit the new location. True to their art, youll find the same single private booths like the original Brooklyn location and the Tonkatsu broth is the same as their original location. We got sat pretty quickly once we made it inside the place and the order came out hot and ready to be devoured. With their no tip policy, a classic Tonkatsu dish with the $7 dollar recommended toppings (2 slices of pork, seaweed, 1 egg, and some diced green onions) comes out to $29. WORTH IT!

Comment: This ramen place was unlike any other that I’ve tried. I tried the Tonkotsu Ramen and the Vegetarian. The only reason why it’s not completely a five stars for me, is the wait time. The broth was rich and flavorful, but not overly salty like most other places that I’ve tried. The noodles were also a lot thinner than I usually see in ramen, but it gave the soup a very delicate texture.I also liked how they gave you a sheet to customize your ramen to your liking. A lot of the experience had limited interaction with both your hosts and party. This was a really interesting way of dining, and it was something different from the typical restaurant. Everything felt very organized and clean. I would definitely come back, but hopefully the line won’t be as long as it was for us.

Comment: Best ramen Ive ever had.Came here on a Friday night around 6:30. Wait was about 20 minutes. Worth the wait. Not sure about more than an hour though.Broth is very heavy with recommended choices but super rich.Matcha pudding is 🔥🔥🔥. Do not share. Get your own, youll thank me.Would come back once in a while but the price for a bowl is steep. But youre paying for the experience as well as probably the best ramen youll ever have. Definitely recommended.

Comment: Let me start by saying holy smokes the dessert is SO good. If I lived nearby I would go just for the dessert. The premium yakibuta is very reminiscent to cambodian kor, filipino adobo, just any kind of standard braised porkbelly. Delicious but a bit expensive for what it is though. As for the ramen. It’s pretty good and what you expect. The broth has deep flavors. Definitely on the better side of ramens I have had but nothing that would make me go out of my way to get it. The egg also might look like just a plain boiled egg but it packs a lot of flavor. Very pleasant.Would visit again but only if the line was short.

Comment: This place is up to the hype. I went there on a Sunday, middle of the afternoon, and waited about 30 min to be seated, so there might be more of a wait in busier hours. But it was worth every secondThey only serve the Tonkotsu Ramen and any additional toppings you might want, and the individual booths are just like the Ichirans in JapanThe flavour of the broth is something else. Its not the cheapest, but then again, if you like ramen, this place is a must

Comment: Went in on a Sunday, they open at 12 and I was there by 12:10. There was a short line, the restaurant had not filled up yet. We waited a bit before it was our turn to be seated. Service was quick once seated. There is only 1 item to order on the menu and that is ramen. You can customize how you want it served & choose to add toppings. I got the reccomended topping set and extra pork that I shared. For the the portion was more than enough and I was really full by the end. For someone who eats more you can order extra noodles. My partner got the extra noodles and it was the perfect amount of food. You can always request more items by pressing the button and filling out the sheet hanging on the side of your seat.

Comment: A unique dining experience that is directly copied from Japan! You get your own booth (which have walls that can collapse if you would like to talk with your neighbors), a call button to confirm your order and a curtain to completely separate you from the hosts/waiters. The ramen is amazing - easily the best in the U.S. in my opinion due to its richness, customizability and simplicity! There is no over the top or extravagant ingredient, and there’s a combination for everyone - you just have to find it! If you don’t know what to get, just start with the regular options for all the options! Vegetarian options exists, and the restaurant does not use peanuts nor peanut oil!

Matcha pudding is very good but very small size. Definitely love the tiny customization sheets. Overall awsome place would recommend.

Comment: Ichiran Times Square location doesn’t seem to sleep. There is always a long queue but we stoked to be there for lunch and the queue wasn’t too bad. It was super fun dining at my own booth and your food is delivered through a curtain. The Tonkotsu Ramen was delicious! I do prefer the noodles to be thicker as it was quite thin. The soup was rich and you can adjust soup and condiments. We have a lot of yummy ramen shops in Vancouver and I was expecting tastier ramen here.It was a fun experience!

Comment: Only customizable (down to saltiness, noodle texture, spiciness, toppings, richness, etc.) tonkutsu ramen available here. A bit pricey, but generous noodle portions. Quick service.Pork is nothing special/could be more flavorful.Egg is a soft-boiled egg that isnt marinated.Medium noodle texture is a bit too soft, I would recommend the firmer textures (I chose firm).

Comment: I’ve been so eager to try out Ichiran Ramen for YEARS!! It absolutely did not disappoint. This was one of the best bowls of Tonkotsu I have ever had. The noodles were cooked to absolute perfection, and the broth was so heavenly I wanted to take home a 2 gallon jug to drink on tap.The experience was also very unique. I loved the overall energy of the restaurant and staff, and they even decorated for the holiday!! Service was quick (even for a party of 6 like we had) — but there was a VERY long line outside. A testament to how delicious the food is!!Staff were quick, courteous, and professional. I would absolutely recommend this shop to ANYONE in NYC. You gotta try out this ramen — highly recommend spending the extra $$ for the egg and extra scallion. 😋

Comment: We went first thing in the morning and there was already a line before the place was open. Forget dinner. The place is rather quiet, and the seating is individual. Staff is really friendly upon entering. The ramen was so freaking delicious. The presentation was also great. TMI recommend getting the premium meat. So much better than the regular chasu. Also, you may not need a whole extra order of noodles. I got half an order and it was still a lot.One of my broth spoons was dirty, so they need better attention to detail on the cleanliness of their utensils. The Calpico drink was delicious. Gotta look for it at H Mart. The Matcha pudding was lackluster. Not that great. Very funny for pudding for my preference. This is the only thing Id skip here.

Comment: It is as good as they say. In fact its arguably the best tonkutsu ramen Ive ever had in the U.S. The broth is smooth and complex with so many flavors. Most Ramen broth I had in the U.S. is just salty, and nothing else. The noodles are small and the texture is just right. The sliced pork is thin and almost melts in the mouth. I also ordered matcha pudding and it was intense in a good way. It is small and I was really sad when its gone. Its that good! I spent about 15 minutes in line when I came at around 2pm. So be prepared to wait but its really worth it.

Very clean to the tastebuds. The noodles were perfectly cooked. I also had the matcha beer which also good to try. I did order the extra Char Siu as an appetizer, but there was a lot of meat there already. It was pretty filling but nevertheless it was good. Definitely worth trying especially if you like ramen.

Comment: Wanted to have a real experience of eating at the #1 Japanese Restaurant for Ramen. The experience is very unique and some friends who’ve been to the Japan one said that everything look the same.First, there’s no reservations and the place is crowded. We waited 30 minutes to get in.Good news is, everything is super organized. The menu is straightforward, you got the ramen, some toppings options (I picked the flight option so I could try 4 to 5 different ones). One dessert option (which I really liked) and then some extras and drinks. The place and dynamism is very unique. You get your own “cabin” and you don’t see any employee face to face. You fill out your form with your order and leave it in your cabin, they grab it and close the curtain. Once it’s ready they open the curtain and bring it to you and close it again.I think it’s nice if you are looking for a different experience. The flavor is amazing but there are other ramen houses around as good in my opinion. Also if your idea is to hang out with your friends and have a nice and long talk around the table, this is not the place.Be ready because the price is a little above the average.

Comment: Delicious broth and toppings, but pretty pricey. $20 for a bowl of ramen (at least there’s no tip). If you like spicy food, get at least level 4x. Comment: Hands down the best ramen place in NYC.Been to all three locations, and while the difference in minimal, I believe that the Times Square location has the best food overall. Its usually $20-$30 per person (no tipping establishment) and will definitely fill you up for an entire meal. The broth is very flavorful and you can choose an assortment of toppings. For any first-timers, going with the starter kit on the menu is probably the best choice. The Japanese spice they add is wonderful. It can get very spicy very quickly. Definitely a place to order seconds etc.If youre planning to go here while on a trip, plan to arrive a tad early. Wait times can get from 15 to 45 minutes and they will cut you off early if the time is too close to closing.Best ramen in NYC

But to be honest it’s not as good as I thought, it’s still good but just a little pricey. The broth was very flavorful and you can tell it’s been cooking for a while. The spice at first didn’t feel so spicy but it kinda lingers around after every slurp you take. The Pork was honestly very mid, nothing special about it. The dividers can be folded up if you’re eating in larger group but I would recommend sticking with groups of 4 or less for the best experience still you’re sitting next to each other. The food is mindblowingly delicious with so many ways to customize the dish to exactly your preference. Comment: We came to NY with a couple friends for a day trip. My usual go to place in NY for ramen Ippudo but we were recommended by a friend to give this place a try and so we did. We arrived at 7:30 which is 1 hr before closing. The line were out the door. We waited about 40 minutes to get seated. When we enter into the restaurant it was definitely a different concept of a ramen restaurant then what we used to. You will see different entrance to different rooms. Our served guided us to our seat where you are given a sheet of paper with one one ramen choice. You get to customize how you want your ramen. The water is self served. There is a call button that you need to press at the counter once you ready to order then they come by to collect your order form. You do not get to see the server. I thought I wasn’t hungry until the noodle came. My husband and I each ordered our own noodle and we also order the topping set to share. The soup was just so flavorful I could not stop drinking it even though I was full. This is a no tipping restaurant so you do not have to tip. It was definitely a cool experience. I call it the “anti-social” ramen noodle shop. I would definitely recommend those who never had this before to give it a try. Even though we had to wait 40 minutes outside in the cold it was all worth the wait. I would definitely return back next time we visit NYC.

I love how everything is customizable. The highest spice level includes a good heaping of chili powder which does well mixed in. Maybe next time, ill ask for more. The pork here is also great. So tender and meaty also. A bit different than the fatty cut in other ramen. I got firm noodles which were great. For my kaedama, i got extra firm to try but that was a bit too firm for my preference

Comment: Superb food quality in a unique setting. Each seat is an individual booth where servers slide open a screen to bring you food when its ready. Although the menu may look a little confusing at first, it actually allows you to customize everything to your liking or just take the defaults. Comment: Excellent business model, service, and of course, ramen. Originally designed for solo diners in mind, each person gets to have their private dining booth to enjoy the experience. Was in the area a week ago for an appointment and as my husband picked me up, we looked for where we could do early dinner. Ichiran was a 4 minute walk and it was pretty easy to line up, answer Covid-19 questions prior to being seated etc. Covid-19 protocols were noticeably enforced strictly and I really liked that. Husband and I were then led to booths 7 and 8 and it was a pretty fun new experience to order individually once that window in front of you is opened. We both ordered their Classic Tonkutsu ($19) and both added the recommended toppings set for an additional $5 each ( (seaweed, mushrooms, scallions, chashu, soft boiled egg) and everything was sooo good! We also decided to share the Premium Yakibuta dish ( Smoky yet sweet marinated pork) and it was delicious for an additional $10. The immediate thing that comes to mind is its all coming out so expensive but fret not, gratuity is included with their price so it kind of balances it all out.Now I must say, while essentially self-service, their staff are one of the most courteous and nicest that Ive encountered in all of NYC. I forgot the name of the guy who was both welcoming customers and acting as the cashier as well (Sean perhaps?) but he was super good and really observing the traditional way of receiving payments and handing back your card and receipt in both hands and true Japanese style. Must commend! Such a great dining experience! Cannot wait to come back once we crave for ramen again! Keep it up, Ichiran! :)

Comment: My friends and I were craving ramen on a chilly day and Ichiran was right around the corner. Between 4 people we shared 2 bowls of the classic tonkatsu ramen with extra noodle refills and recommended toppings set. They have dividers between seats which you can remove if you want to share or actually want to dine with the person next to you. Ichiran has some of the best ramen Ive ever had. Rich creamy broth with fresh thin noodles. The bowl itself was plenty for the both of us. The chasu was thinly sliced, seasoned well and very tender. The hard boiled egg was very in our ramen and was still gooey when we cracked it in our broth.Love the concept herea s you can dine alone or with another person. Food comes out really quickly and flavors were 5 stars. We agreed that if we could we would come back again on our trip. Highly recommend Ichiran if you want authentic ramen with quality ingredients. Covid wise they take things very seriously with temperature checks, and employees wearing masks and gloves. We came here on a Sunday and the restaurant was at half capacity.

Comment: This place exceeded my expectations. The broth was everything - fatty and flavourful! The noodles were cooked perfectly and the egg as well. It’s pricier than other ramen shops and I think that maybe because of the name. This is popular chain in Japan so I’m not surprised.

Comment: Cool place, a little Japan in the middle of Manhattan. Good ramen, good service. Credit card only and they are no tip establishment. Usually there is a line outside. This isnt a party spot, this is in and out kind of place. Good for a couple people together.

Comment: On a rainy New York evening me and my mom were super hungry and trying to find the closest place to us with something warm. We ran across the Ichiban not knowing anything about it but knowing that we had a taste for Asian food. When we went inside we didnt know what we were in for was more of an experience then we could have imagined. We were asked if we wanted secluded seating or if we wanted to be around everyone and we decided to be around the other guests. So they took us to our booth and open the middle between me and my mom so that we could have a cubby together. The service at this restaurant was unlike anything Ive ever experienced. We did not have to speak to our waiters if we didnt want to because we had to write down our order on the unique menu and never had to see the servers eyes as there was a bamboo curtain in front of us. The food was absolutely delicious. They only serve one type of ramen so that they can have the best ingredients for that specific type, but I was kind of hoping that they had other meat options. I have to mention how strong my sake was btw.. Cuz you know I like my drinks with a kick! 🍶🤗This was the perfect stop for me and my mom as it was fulfilling and a New York Adventure in one meal. I would definitely recommend and I will definitely go back. Dew approved 👍🏼😉

Comment: Good ramen and very interesting cultural experience at the least. The individual compartementalised seating feels authentically Japanese but isnt too awkward for conversation either (we were a group of three). The queue was fairly long, but, once we were in, the process was very efficient. There is minimal human interaction, which some will love and others might not. Its nice being able to customise all aspects of your noodles. The ramen is fresh and delicious, though its a shame there are no vegetarian options.

Comment: I loved the experience at Ichiran😍Ichiran Times Square just opened today, once you get inside you will be able to feel like you are in Japan. There are no communal tables just 2 rows of seats and you order pressing the button in front of you and getting the food delivered from that window.Amazing!!And ramen was delicious!!!
