Comment: Best ramen I’ve ever had! The vegetarian buns were also delicious. When we went, it was a 45 minute wait for our larger group but it was well worth it. They also have a great sake selection

Comment: One month ago... was perfect day for ramen lunch. First chilly day in NY after long weekend.Just across, I arrived at Ichiran where I found lines formed before noon opening. Thus, we were so relieved to see no line (although no more table, just bar seats) at Ippudo when rushed to get there in time.Hmm.Karaage was saltier. I ate this numerous times here. So I know the flavor. I asked my company to try. She agrees it is saltier. Degree of saltier-ness... not much saltier, nor slightly. But somewhat... feeling bit unhealthy to eat especially with sauce such as mentaiko mayo.On the other hand...Miso ramen... soup bland without depth, ingredient mix not right.Noodle curvy and bit al dente which is fine. Two strikes.I remember midtown location took awhile to open after downtown to ensure training on uniform cooking.Very rare for Kawahara-sans creation who is religious on consistency.Unfortunate this is happening when quality competitors sprout in numbers.I may be tempted to go to Menchan-ko... Or, maybe I should stick with reliable donkotsu ramen?... save me from writing scathing review. What a shame... last time food was great. Plus starstruck with Toronto Blue Jays Korean pitcher Hyunjin Ryu.Today... back to normal... good classic donkotsu. Pork bun oishi. Selection of nama biru. Stay safe. Stick with consistent menu.

Comment: Venturing into Ippudo for a unique ramen and dining experience in New York, I found myself in one of the citys coziest and most comfortable spots. Although reservations are not accepted, we opted for seats at the bar, which turned out to be a delightful choice. The staff at Ippudo was truly exceptional. While waiting for our seats, they suggested spending some time at the outdoor bar, seamlessly transitioning to our actual seating when the time came. Now, lets talk about the star of the show—the ramen. Ippudo unquestionably serves one of the best ramen dishes in New York. The flavors were extraordinary, making this visit a memorable culinary journey. If youre in search of a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience, paired with remarkable ramen, Ippudo in NYC is undoubtedly a must-visit.

Comment: I frequently come here whenever I crave for ramen when I am in NYC. I ordered pork bun and Karaka spicy ramen and it’s sooo good! So far one of the best ramen I’ve tasted! They don’t accept reservation, so make sure you arrive early because usually, there’s a long wait to get in especially on a weekend. It’s worth the wait though because it’s really good. The service was good, so far I often got my order fast.

Comment: Service was good, minor issues. I received mayo instead of honey mustard and received pork loin instead of chicken. The waiter noticed the errors quickly and resolved them. :) The oishii karaage was nicely made! The ramen was good too and the portions are decent!! I would definitely recommend to give this spot a try.

Comment: It was a cold night after watching the Book of Mormon. Really felt a need for hot and soupy stuff. I searched for noodles which got hits for Ichiran and other places which close earlier. I just had Ichiran in Tokyo in October. Search for ramen in google to get this place. Walked in and sat at a big bar table with a few others. Satisfaction. Surprised service was fast!

Comment: Ippudo dates back to 2008 in NYC.A few friends and I were there for the first week and I remember the loud いらしゃいませs yelled at us fondly after we walked into the restaurant all those years ago.Life and your experiences are not without irony though. Anyone who visited Japan and its cities know how different the Ippudo experience is there. It hits differently and not in a good way.Consider this - McDonalds is better in Japan. You cannot convince me otherwise.Like the comparison above, Ippudo is better in NY than in Japan. 🤯Shocking. I know.I was at odds when I had experienced Ippudo in Tokyo 2011 and even more recently in Osaka during my 2022 visit. Ramen is in fact considered fast food in Japan (I know, crazy right) and there are some amazing ramen yas in Japan that make Ippudo NY seem like an afterthought. For an apples to apples comparison though Ippudo NY wons on decor, presentation, food, and service and thats probably because its treated like a fancy restaurant here.Everyone I have taken here (even friends from Japan) are always surprised. For my friends from the rising sun, I think the only thing that continues to shock them is how much New Yorkers are paying for ramen. In short we all agree that it is way too much.Like the St Marks place, you cant go wrong if you need a bowl.So why not 5 stars? Well, its the heat. After living in Japan and now having visited there several times, Ive come to appreciate a really hot bowl of ramen and expect it to be served this way.I think NY in general does not serve its ramen hot as we tend to take legal action on things that slight us. Im sure if I asked though, they might actually heat it up even more for me.Heat aside, the taste, consistency, and options all make it worth my continued visits.

Comment: All the dishes we tried were absolutely delicious. The staff was prompt and cordial, contributing to an overall good dining experience. However, my rating for service is a 4 because of a small oversight: one of the items I initially ordered was unavailable. I opted for an alternative, only to discover that both last ordets contained the same predominant ingredient of chickpea paste. Although both dishes were tasty, knowing they had a common base would have allowed me to make a more varied selection. It would be helpful if the staff could alert customers to such similarities when changes to the original order are needed.

We were given amazing recommendations and clear descriptions. We tried their season items : duck tataki and dreaming of you (sour lemon drink) which were both extremely tastey. Comment: The recommended Ground Pork Ramen with the pickled Mustard leaves was DELICIOUS. The portion size was large and at a reasonable price. The wait was about 8 minutes before being seated, and less than 10 minutes receiving my food! I recently returned here and realized that the menu changes continuously! Forces you to be adventurous!Updated: after moving away in 2018 I recently visited again. I was surprised that eggs no longer came with the Ramen and you have to pay $3 for one. Additionally, the Ramen was not as good as I remembered. I have been trying ramen in every state I travel to trying to find one as good as Ippudo, but Ippudo isnt as good as Ippudo anymore. This is also the most expensive bowl of Ramen I have had. It was $30 after egg and tip. Seriously insane. Glad I finally got to go back so I can stop thinking about it and most on lol. Also, I noticed they started doing takeout which they didnt before because they said the Ramen would taste the same but now they are, so I guess that doesnt matter anymore.

Comment: Stopped in before seeing a show nearby. We had the Akamaru Shinaji, the Karaage Rice, and the Miso Ramen. All dishes we tried were amazing. The depth of the broth in the Akamaru Shinaji was unbelievable - probably the best broth any of us had ever had. The mentaiko mayo on the Karaage rice dish was so flavorful, and the chicken in this dish was crispy perfection. This miso ramen was delicious as well, and the corn added a sweetness that complimented the dish. The only minor issue was our cocktails never came, but staff made sure they were removed from our bill. We would love to return again soon.

Comment: Found this to be much better than Ichiran, both in flavour and value.Akamaru - slight spicyness and noodles cooked semi firm, soaked up pork broth nicely and comes with tender pieces of chashu with a slight char flavour. Broth was flavourful and bursting with umami, plus the strong but delicious aroma of the garlic oil, which is a must get for garlic lovers.Pork Bun - Bun was soft and pork was pretty tender and deeply charred, giving it a depth of flavour, but mayo was a little overpowering.Check out @bredgyeats for food pictures!

Comment: To describe Ippudo is like describing your idol, your dream place, your one of a kind experience. To sum up, Ippudo is one of the best ramen place or if not the best. I have tried their ramen at their many locations, in Tokyo, in Narita, in Jakarta, Indonesia, In St. Marks location and this visit is at their midtown location. They stand out in their broth, noodles and their exceptional service. In this visit I tried their Edamame with Yuzu Salt for sprinkle. The broths in all category of ramen is fantastic. They have seasonal dessert. I have tried many of their seasonal dessert and it is phenomenal. Take a note at their service, you will be impressed. I challenge you to leave your water empty, and in just seconds they will come to refill it, and it is the same quality of service in many of their locations, whether here in US or abroad.

Comment: IPPUDO WESTSIDE has never failed to satisfy my cravings! Staffs are attentive and nice, the food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Ive been to Japan, so I would say IPPUDO WESTSIDE is so far the closest delicious ramen that reminds me of Japan. Dont skip the TAKOYAKI and PORK BUNS you wont regret it!This location is my favorite since I came here in US. Ive been to several IPPUDO locations and yet they somehow make my stay disappointing. Thats why I specifically go to this location every time I crave delicious ramen! The only reason why Im giving this place a -1 star is because Me and My fiance came here for our Anniversary, I booked a reservation through Resy and add a special request (maybe a small gesture for the celebration ice cream with a candle or a small cake) they ignore it.I will still come back, Overall great!

Comment: If youre looking for an exceptional ramen experience in New York, look no further than Ippudo Westside. I recently visited this restaurant and was blown away by the quality of their food and service. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen, poke bun, and chicken wings and each dish was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. The spicy tonkotsu ramen had the perfect amount of heat and the broth was rich and flavorful. The poke bun was a tasty appetizer that perfectly complemented the ramen, and the chicken wings were crispy and full of flavor. One of the standout features of Ippudo Westside is the service. Despite the restaurant being busy, our food arrived quickly and our server was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is also cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal with friends or a quick solo lunch. While the prices at Ippudo Westside may be slightly higher than some other ramen spots in town, I believe the quality of the food and service more than justifies the cost. Overall, I would highly recommend Ippudo Westside to anyone in search of an outstanding ramen experience in New York. Its a hidden gem that is not to be missed.

Comment: This was the highlight of our NYC trip. Lunch was fast and we got seating right away. Service was fast and efficient. The portions were perfect to try many things and not be too overfill. The server was great and helping pick more or less dishes. We had the perfect amount and left full and satisfied. The karate chicken and rice was hot, crunchy, and JUICY. So so good. The ramen was so good. The noodles were perfect. Thin, chewy, mmmm perfect! The broth was full of richness and flavor without being oily.It was amazing. I’d go back to NYC for this ramen.

Comment: If youre looking for the ultimate ramen experience, look no further than Ippudo. From start to finish, my meal was an absolute delight, and I couldnt be happier with my experience. To begin with, the traditional pork bun was a perfect appetizer. The bun was fluffy and warm, and the pork was tender and full of flavor. It was a great way to whet my appetite for the main event. And speaking of the main event, the bowl of ramen was truly outstanding. The broth was rich and savory, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The pork was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the egg was perfectly cooked with a runny yolk. The flavors all came together in a perfect harmony, making for a truly memorable meal.To top it all off, I also had the house sake, which was excellent. It was smooth and clean, with a subtle sweetness that paired perfectly with the savory flavors of the ramen.Overall, it is an easy decision give this restaurant a perfect score. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, and the service was top-notch. I cant recommend this place enough, and I cant wait to come back and try more of their dishes. If youre a fan of ramen, or just great food in general, you absolutely need to check out this restaurant. It is my favorite place to dine in Manhattan.

Comment: Ippudo is snug into a not-so-little spot on 51st and 8th. And the food’s a 10/10.We were sat by the noodle bar which was alright! Not too loud. I wish we had a private seating but the food…I’m still thinking of the crispy Tori Kara-Age (ippudo-style fried chicken) and it’s dipping sauce! The chicken is hot, juicy, and flavoured well, and comes with shisito pepper. Recommend squeezing your lime generously over your chicken before you enjoy. The ramen is the star of the show, no surprise! My friend and I opted for the spicier pork ramen- super filling, and ended with me scooping every drop of the broth. You could request for extra noodles once you’re done with your first helping. Trust me, portion size is first class.Okay but at this point my button’s about to pop, but I need dessert.Behold, my favorite dish in the world, Tiramisu. With a twist? It’s matcha tiramisu!Served with a red bean reduction, the cake falls a bit dense but nevertheless, a perfect end to our night.I’m definitely coming back for my ramen-cravings!

Comment: My wife and I love this spot! They have THE BEST pork buns in NYC, with a legit amount of delicious pork and a very tender bun. The karaka spicy ramen and fried gyozas are also fabulous. The servers are nice and attentive, the space is very comfortable and modern and we come here everytime we visit nyc. Also, its a great pre or post theatre spot!

Comment: I first discovered Ippudo when I lived in Shanghai and when I moved here, was happy to see they’d opened in NYC. The ramen is very solid - the noodles have a good bite to them, the chashu thinly sliced and tender, and the broth has a nice complexity. The service is great and the environment more stylish than your typical ramen spot. I will say they do put their own unique spin on the dishes so don’t come here if looking for very traditional versions. The gyoza for example is served in a chili sauce, a bit sweet, with cilantro that’s more reminiscent of Sichuan flavors than what you might find on the streets of Tokyo. Still very good though! And as I can attest, as popular in Asia as it is here.

Comment: I stopped by Ippudo one night because of a random ramen craving. It definitely left me feeling satisfied. I enjoyed their cozy atmosphere where you could choose to sit up at the bar or in the dining room. I had the wings as an appetizer and they were so flavorful. I couldn’t stop eating them. I chose the Karaka Spicy for my ramen and it was exactly what I needed. It had medium heat and the pork paired really well with the flavors of the broth. I had a great experience dining here and would recommend it to anyone!

Comment: I really like the open space kitchen and the bar concept where we choose to eat both times we’ve been. The facade isn’t the most visible but once you understand what it is there’s no going back…you must try it!The ramen is very good, although you have to get the egg as an extra. The side dishes were great, takoyaki balls were nice and in a generous portion. The buns were delicious, I definitely recommend the shrimp and chicken. The karaage was a bit disappointing, tho. Two big in size, big balls, too heavy and overcooked on the outside (good portion tho), just not what I expected from this dish.I totally recommend the pork rice pot, it’s so delicious. The ice cream is good and tasted good after so much food I had.The staff is very friendly, I just didn’t like the pressure over the tip when I considered giving 10% on the second night, rather than 18%, as I think it should be me deciding what to give and not be forced to tip another amount.Overall the experience is great and I recommend Ippudo 100%!

Comment: Came here for dinner after a show. They are one of the few places open after 10. We waited 15-20 minutes. Everything was so good. Chicken karaage was so good and I don’t usually like it. Shishito peppers were cooked perfectly and went nicely with the yuzu salt. The bowls of noodles hit the spot too. The Akamaru Shinaji was perfect. I’m can’t handle spicy and it had just a little heat.

Comment: I’ve been coming to this place a lot and it is still one of my favorite spots to have ramen in NYC 🍜 I know usually people prefer getting tonkotsu ramen here since that’s what they are famous for, but I love their miso better. For miso, you get thicker noodles which is most likely Hokkaido style, and the butter on top makes the bowl more flavorful. I love the way they takes different approaches on each ramen, not many restaurants do that. Also, their desserts are huge so it’s good to share with 2-3 ppl🍰

Comment: Great ramen. rich, flavorful broth. the chashu was nicely proportioned meat to fat.the takoyako was excellent but i missed the kewpie mayo that is usually drizzled on top as well.the karaage was… not what i was expecting. they are huge chicken meatballs and have a sort of burnt flavor to them. because of how huge and thick they are, the inside is basically tasteless. would’ve preferred if they were the traditionally sized chunks of chicken.

I’m glad I finally got to check out this place but to be honest I don’t think the ramen tasted different enough from other ramen places I’ve been to to justify the extra cost. Comment: The most impeccable Japanese restaurant I love eating whenever I visit NYC! The taste and atmosphere mimics those from Japan so its worth the price and the opportunity to eat.My friend and I came around 12pm and we had a brief wait to sit at the bar. We didnt want to sit at the tables since the bar was more brightly lit and had a better feel for the two of us. We each ordered our own ramen, plus their Aburi Unagiri and Oishii Karaage. Both appetizers were top notch and was amazing to the taste. I highly recommend trying both, especially if you enjoy fried chicken and unagi (eel). After dining, as we walked out, it was snowing outside and seeing it through their window was a nice scene to walk out to. The food and experience was worth waiting in the cold and it definitely filled us up before head to MoMA.

This ramen spot is on the pricey scale for a very small bowl of ramen.Egg was an additional charge of upwards $3 which that is the price of an entire carton of eggs.Drinks are well done and delicious. Loved the open kitchen concept as they prepared the meals. This is one of the most elegantly designed ramen establishments in the city. Comment: Ippudo Midtown WestShiromaru Motoaji - $18 + $3 (egg add on)Broth - 4/5. Fat and creamy pork broth. Not heavy surprising but could be more concentrated.Chashu - 5/5. Thinly sliced and the ratio of fat to lean was 60:40. It was so~ good. Also, three slices instead of the typical two in other places. Yes~~~Noodles - 5/5. Thin noodles. It’s been sitting in the broth for 11 minutes (seriously) and retained its firmness. I’m beginning to truly appreciate these kind of thin noodles which can maintain their firmness.Side note:You get a whole egg instead of half when you order it. Like other places, the egg has a deep soy sauce marinade flavor.Surprisingly, the menma was really delicious and concentrated. Other places taste “watered down”Side notes:Pork buns - $5. Lots of glaze but the meat was too lean for me. No charred/smoky nor was it fatty. Note: This seems to be from a different cut of pork from the ones used in the ramen.Karaage - $13. Crunchy outside. Juicy inside. Truly “fried naked” and the Mentaiko Mayo helps a lot. A new standard for me to replicate when I make Karaage.Takoyaki - $9. It was over cooked or over-fried. The exterior was VERY crunchy and the octopus piece was extra chewy. When pointed with a chopstick, the balls are as hard/tough as rocks.Total - $52.46

Great balance of flavors and temperature. The ramen was very interesting, peppery and buttery broth. The best part was the texture of the noodles, but the broth was lukewarm. The unagi rice rolls were presented well and tasted great but on the colder side like it was sitting or not warmed properly. The cocktails were colorful, fun and delicious as well.Highly recommend

Came on a Thursday night at around 8pm, and the wait was about 30 mins, which wasnt bad at all.We ordered a chicken bun each, which was more sweet than spicy, and was like a general Tsos fried chicken lol it was tasty! Also Got the Karage with mayo dipping sauce, and the sizzling beef and Cauliflower plate. For the Ramen, I chose the Akamaru Shinaji, which is the Pork tonkatsu broth, with garlic oil and umami paste, and added a poached egg and corn. My friends ordered the Spicy version, called Karaka. Havent had Ramen in awhile, so I enjoyed it. The serving was just right amount, and didnt leave me wanting more noodles afterwards. Comment: From the outside looking in, you did not expect to see a place with such a nice atmosphere. The dining area has an almost bistro feel to it, and is a great place to socialize with friends and family. The staff is very welcoming and extremely attentive to your needs. The moment you drop something on the floor or may need your glass topped off, there is a waiter or waitress coming up right behind to take care of you. While the food was very very delicious, I did have higher expectations going in. However, the menu was very diverse and I did enjoy everything that I was served! If you are looking for a ramen spot to go to, Ippudo Ramen Westsude is definitely top 5!

Comment: Since all of the branches around Times Square are quite busy, make sure to allow some wait time or arrive before opening! The place offers a decent selection of ramen also suitable for vegetarians. We had 2 veggie ramens and the chicken bao Buns, which were quite good. The padron pepper starter was also nice. They did offer a special edition beer, which was quite disappointing, especially considering the fact that they charged 12$ for it.

Comment: The food is good but the ramen could be better...i think the thin noodles would be a bit better if it is softer. The takoyaki and spicy tempura roll is really good though. The staff are great as well

Comment: Put on your noodle hat, Ippudo is the best Ramen Ive ever experienced. Located mid-block in Hells Kitchen, the west side location of NYCs best purveyor of broth and baos is just one of 160 Ippudo locations around the world (with 100 in Japan). Love the atmosphere at this location (especially at the counter), the service, and of course, the chow. The wait is LONG, but definitely worth it, since its the worlds most famous Japanese ramen chain. However, its easy to pop over to a nearby bar for a drink while you wait for a table. I went on a Saturday night recently, put my name in for a two-top, and got in in about an hour or so. The best bao is the shrimp tempura, by far. Chicken wings are amazing (I wish I could order a mountain of them, instead you just get three). For ramen, I always get the Karaka Spicy. Yum town.

Comment: I ordered their tonkotsu ramen and it was probably one of the best i’ve had in NYC to this day. the broth is by far the most balanced in terms of flavor and consistency. it is not too thick nor is it overbearing in flavor. the noodles were also a great texture (they use the thin ramen for this dish, as pictured). the pork chashu was sliced extremely thin and had great flavor and texture. all in all, if there is a ramen place i’d consider a “must try” this is the one.

Comment: Highly recommend Ippudo. There’s a reason why theres always a crowd outside. The trick is to put your name down at 5 lol. Regardless, you can hang at the bar for drinks while you wait which is pretty nice. As an appetizer, you must try their pork belly buns- it’s an ippudo classic. For ramen, you can’t go wrong with any, I prefer spicy so I ordered the spicy chili broth which was delicious as usual. A solid ramen spot with decent prices

Comment: Im always skeptical of ramen. To me, ramen is fast food, but its peddled as expensive orientalism in north America, in contradiction to its roots.Compared to ichiran just across the street, ippudo is cheaper and tastier with less gimmicks. I had the vegetarian ramen, which was rich and flavourful (the extra dollop of umami paste was a bit too much). The karaage bowl was quite good, not overpowering, with a delightful cabbage crunch. The takoyaki was lava in a ball, coming right off the griddle to the table. Overall, pretty good, and not too expensive.

Comment: First time at a ramen theme restaurant. The waitress was helpful with recommendations that did taste very good. Service was quick and professional. Per NYC guidelines they did check for vaccination status upon entry and had done a nice job of using barriers for further protection. Can recommend the Shiromaru Motoaji and the Akamaru Shinaji.

Comment: Now THIS is ramen! I was highly impressed with the flavors of my bowl. I got the tonkotsu and my husband the shoyu. The tonkotsu was on a far greater level than anything I have had in Louisville. As a ramen artistan myself, it has inspired even me to do more research and up my game. The Hakata noodles were cooked wonderfully, and had a great chew. As far the broth, I first tasted the part without ma-yu get the true taste. Some restaurants use ma-yu to mask imperfections... The pork bone broth was porky, had a crisp flavor, and perfect salinity. Most importantly, it was very hot and savory to drink. I truly enjoyed my bowl as did my husband, his. This was also my first time trying karaage. So crunchy, hot, and favorful! I could make a meal out of these and just a beer alone lolI drank a Kirin, and a Yamazaki 12. All in all, it was a pleasant evening meal. My only regret is not getting there earlier, but that was due to flight delays.

Comment: I had the karaage bowl because I personally don’t like ramen and it was perfect. I usually always get chicken cutlet bowl whenever I go to a Japanese restaurant and I can confidently say this is probably in my top 3. The beef teppan reminds me of steaks I used to get at Ikinari (RIP). The beef is very soft and tender when it’s first served and overtime gets more cooked on the pan. Eat it fast if you like it rare-ish!My boyfriend had the ramen and it was of course very very good.

Comment: I ordered the cucumbers, karaage and spicy tonkatsu ramen. I wouldnt recommend the cucumbers. I thought it was be like fresh spicy pickles but its just cucumbers with some soy sauce, sesame oil and red flakes. Not spicy or sour at all. The karaage is delicious and must get. Very crispy and good portion. Finally the ramen is delicious. I added the egg and the egg yolk is wonderful gooey. The pork slice in the ramen is also very good. Overall the ramen is very tasty. Good soup, noodles and topping. One small complaint i have is that the soup is too rich and salty. It tastes good at the beginning but in the end i feel bloated and couldnt finish the soup. The wait staff is attentive and gives me what I need in a timely manner. Also i like that they will send me a text when a table is ready. They told me its a 45 minutes wait but my table is ready after 20. I used that time to walk around the neighborhood and enjoying the nice summer weather.

Comment: Simply unbelievable food and quality consistently delivered. We have visited this place once every time we visit NYC and it’s one of our happiest moments of the trip. Fantastic pork belly buns and chicken buns. Followed by Karaage chicken rice and Karaka spicy pork ramen. I wish I could consume 10 entrees but thankfully I’m limited to one each time. Comment: This is still the best place to get ramen and Izakaya (appetizers)With the pandemic giving us some sense of normalcy, I got the chance to go back once more to my favorite Japanese restaurant. Ippudo is that one place you’ll keep on coming back for a multitude of reasons. The place has a great laid back vibe, the customer service is always top-notch — and the food is oh so amazing. Their appetizers or izakaya is one of THE best. Get their pork buns, karaage, takoyaki and you’re in for a treat. But the main star of Ippudo’s show is their ramen. The broth is rich, tasty and heavenly. The portion is just right and the toppings are kept simple. There is no mistaking that this place is a jewel that you shouldn’t miss in the westside.

Comment: Amazing place for Ramen, and easily my favorite place for ChaShu buns. They mark their buns with the restaurant logos which I thought was very creative but the flavor was amazing, juicy with a hint of spiciness. They offer two types of ramen and we got both. I personally really liked the Hakata thin noodles to go along with my noodles

Comment: I’m in for the ramen, the ippudo buns are delicious (I had three and really wish I had more room in my stomach)… Shishito peppers kept me on my toes but the goma (cucumber) was amazing; unassuming and far beyond expectations. Tea was tasty and refreshing -great value as it easily serves a thirst duo. One cannot go wrong with anything on this menu (allergies and dietary restrictions aside). Delighted they survived the pandemic -I remember plenty of occasions where I waited to dine here and have been lucky as of late to snag an impromptu place to eat.

Comment: My fiance and I came here on a whim. We were immediately seated (pre pandemic the line would have been out the door). The Ippudo team did a great job with covid protection (contact log, temp check, seating shielded from other customers, individual bags for utensils, wipe down tables, and mask wearing). In addition we ordered the pork buns (must have!). It was so good that I ordered an extra. Then we had chasu don and the karake (spicy) ramen. The chasu don was small but the portion size was sufficient. The mixed chasu tasted well within the rice. You dont taste the difference between the chicken and the pork. The ramen broth was delicious even though the chasu was underwhelming. The spicy mix was the highlight. If you are feeling adventurous try the new Tokyo wavy noodles. Overall great experience and would come again!

Comment: I would say this is the best ramen I have had in the United States so far.I planned to go to Ichiran but it didnt have the dine-in option, then I found Ippudo and ended up visiting here. I was so happy about my decision. For those who are concerning about dining in, the COVID precautions were followed really well in Ippudo, I felt pretty safe dining in this restaurant. They measured everyone’s temperature, all the saffs were wearing not only face masks but also face shields, and each table were quite far away. The most surprising thing was the utensils shown in my uploaded picture (it was sealed in the bag for every customer). The food was also really tasty. Ramen isnt the only must-have, I also highly recommend giving takoyaki a try. I have ordered takoyaki in many different places before and this is the most quality one. (they are all in similar price, thats why I mentioned it)

Comment: Super yummy! We ordered Ippudo pork bun, karaage rice (fried chicken), shiromaru motoaji(pork Tonkotsu ramen with straight noodle), akamaru shinaji (spicy Tonkotsu ramen with wavy noodle). The difference between the spicy Tonkotsu and spicy one is just that add $1 for the fragrant garlic oil plus umami Dama paste.I personally prefer the wavy noodle and just the regular Tonkotsu. But add the $1 for the extra sauces was fine since they are on the side anyway. Their pork belly cha-shu was super good! Highly recommend the pork belly cha-shu plus pork bun (tiny bite spicy for my daughter) with the ramen. The friend chicken was yummy for my daughter too. She loved the noodle and the chicken.

Comment: We went here on a rainy Thursday night around 7pm and the wait was about 10 min which wasnt bad at all. We ordered a pork bun and a Shiromaru classic ramen with the treasure topping. The pork inside the pork bun was DELICIOUS, but the sauce and lettuce kinda reminded me of a chick fil a sandwichs spicy mayo sauce, cheap. The ramen was above average but considering there are so many good ramen places in NYC, it didnt impress me too much. The price was a little above the normal ramen price range but you know... Its ippudo.

Comment: Awesome experience!! Great Ramen. So far, the best ramen in NY. We will certainly be coming back!I have tried some of the greatest ramen this world has to offer and have been searching for a ramen spot that would be close to the tastes, textures, noodles, broth, flavor, etc and Ippudo is coming very close to quite a high bar.The shishito peppers and karaage are awesome (although I think need a side sauce or something more of a dip of some kind). The ramen is delicious. I added an order of corn for texture and taste which was a good call. Could have been a bit spicier but it was really good the way it was.See you soon Ippudo!

Comment: Personally I think the ippudo NY on 4th ave is better (and more lively) but if youre in the area its a good quick lunch stop. There is a bar here as well, serving an ok selection of sake as well as a revolving sake tap (Brooklyn Kura, when I was there, which was pretty mellow and very approachable without anything special about it).The spicy ramen was an average level of spice, the pork a little small but the noodles were good. There are a bunch of other dishes on the menu, and the team were pretty friendly.Compared to ippudo in Sydney, Auckland and Japan the broth is a little thinner but its still ippudo ramen. If youre collecting the set its worth a visit.

Comment: Had some fantastic ramen here, I will definitely be back. This place is loud and energetic with great staff. The ramen broth was delicious but the noodles are on the thin side which is a matter of preference of course. The soft shell crab appetizers were very good but the sauce really made the dish work. The crab by itself was alright. We asked for green tea and got Jasmine tea which was mild but okay. It came by the kettle rather than by the cup. The service was very quick and we were able to get an appetizer, 2 bowls of ramen and a dessert in about an hour. Our wait to sit at a table was basically non existent. The dessert was really something special. We got something with Eskimo in the name. It was simple and not very large but was excellent and I highly recommend it.You may use my photos on your social media.

Comment: Ippudo was fantastic. The service was astoundingly efficient even though it was packed. You can literally be in and out in 15 minutes if you know what you want. As a visitor, I took a bit longer to order. I went with my sister, whos a native New Yorker. This is not a place to come to if you need to change things around, which I dont view as a negative. The appetizer was steamed buns, two vegetarian and two chicken. There is also a pork option. The buns were very good, and the main reason we went. The ramen was also great. My sister ordered the Shojin, a vegetarian option which actually required a shot of seltzer water beforehand in order to cleanse the palette due to its delicate flavors. I had the Ichiraku, which featured chicken, fish, amongst other things. It was very full-flavored, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.The dessert was Golden Toast. Its delicious buttery toast with ice cream, whipped cream, and strawberries. It was the perfect finish to the meal. It was sweet but not overly so.One last note: I literally never had to wait for a refill. It was lovely. You cant go wrong with Ippudo.

Comment: As you walk in, you enter a little bar/waiting area and order a drink while you wait. The bartender/mixologist knows what hes doing. From the sake selections to the mixed drinks that are on the menu, you will not be disappointed. If you are fortunate enough, you are placed in the main seating area. A U-shaped bar where your are greeted by the whole staff, as you enter, and your server tells you the days special. Plate after plate nothing disappoints. Set in a traditional Japanese setting, you are served traditional Japanese dishes that do not let you down. From the charcoal chicken to the ramen, every dish is a delectable delight. The wife and I didnt think we would stay for dessert, but believe me, make room as you will be pleasantly surprised. The chefs know what theyre doing and your food comes out fast, hot, and tasty. Im sure that the seating area with the tables must be nice and cozy, but if you want to experience eating like youre in Japan, and want great service and food, come to Ippudo Westside. Youll thank me later.

Comment: Visited here two years ago before eating at the other Ippudo stores including some in Japan. I rated this place five stars two years ago and have to change it to four stars after eating here again today. The service was a bit slow even after 1.30 pm. The classic tonkotsu ramen base was not milky white but rather brownish. Plus its so salt that we felt very thirsty the whole afternoon. Suspect the tonkotsu soup base has some miso mixed in which is not common practice. Also ordered chicken wings as appetizer and they didnt impress either.

Comment: I love ramen and wanted to see what New York ramen is like. Did some research and decided to check Ippudo.Arrived here for lunch and put our name down on the waiting list. The wait time was estimated to be an hour. However; we got a message in half an hour letting us know one table is ready. We ordered the pork bun to start with and they were very good. They were coated with a sweet and spicy sauce (Ippudos spicy sauce). Those ingredients blended with the others in a flavorful way.I ordered the Karaka-Men and my friend got the Akamaru Modern. She wanted thick noodles but they didnt make it that way. They were nice enough to offer a way to make them a bit thicker. The ramen I got was spicy enough for it to be good.In terms of service, they were prompt, attentive and courteous as well.Overall, this place is not bad to have ramen.

Comment: Overall: 5 stars======This review is based on ramen - and it is one of the best I had! Include experience in Japan.Food: 6 stars======Within the 3 meat options we ordered classic and second one with garlic flour. Both extremely good, the pork bone broth very tasty and can taste real bone broth. Meat is good. Noodle is similar with Ichran in Japan. Portion is smaller but perfect for us. Like all rame it is salty - I asked less salty which is better.Reservation & Wait time: Bad======================This places proves how popular ramen is, this is crazy. Don’t take reservation, Heard about the long line, so this is a Sunday nigh experience:- Arrive 6:50, wait time 45 min. Waited 30 min table is ready but as one of our party is not here yet they need to see both of us to sit us- If wait time is under 1 hour, they don’t take number to call you.Tips:====1. Like many most ramen place, no container to take left over, bring your own.2. Heard Sake bar is not bad, while you waiting, out down your name and have a drink or snack at bar3. They have 3 veg selections - we did not try4. Ask less salty

When seated, I realized the hype and how it was worth the wait.I started with karaage as an appetizer and it was delicious. Comment: This place definitely lives up to the hype that it has. We got the pork buns which were very good, Im NOT a fan of mayo but I could eat this pork bun, everything about it just worked so well, the tartness of the mayo with the hint of spiciness from the sauce. The Shishito Peppers, you wouldnt imagine them being all that great, but I would definitely give these a try! They say theyre spicy but they really arent and the dry-rub sauce that it comes with absolutely makes the appetizer worth it. Now for the main reason everyone goes to Ippudo; the RAMEN. You CANNOT go wrong here, I had the Karaka-men because my friend suggested it to me since I like spicy foods. It was the right about of kick, it doesnt make you sweat, but the hint of heat is there. The flavour of the broth if absolutely perfect, so much so that I emptied out my bowl. My friends go the Akamaru-Modern which is essentially the same thing, but not spicy. The thing about it not being spicy is that it presents a different taste obviously. Its definitely good, and if youre not into getting a kick from your Ramen, I think this is a solid choice and you wont be disappointed! The portions are great as well, Im a huge eater, I finished my entire bowl and was absolutely stuffed, I pushed myself to finish my significant others Ramen and was about to burst, you wont leave starving here, thats for sure.Whenever Im in the City, this place will always be an option when discussing where to eat! 11/10 would come again and would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Comment: This place was highly recommended by our friends, yelpers, and googlers. The food here was amazing! The only con was that you cannot Togo any of your leftovers, so order as you go. I got the akumaru ramen. It was delicious, the broth was perfect. The cost 16, plus another two for poach eggs. I also for their chicken buns($9), and it was saucy, savory, and crispy. You only get two very small buns. The Ippudo wings($9)was awesome as well, but you only get 3 pieces. This place would have been perfect if it wasn’t so expensive. Our wait time was 15minutes. We went on a Monday at 5.

Comment: Was visiting Time Square for a few hours on a work trip. Wanted something not so touristy. A friend recommended this plane that was up a few blocks away from Time Square. Man it was so good! Great Service, top Ramen Ive had so far. Also, the atmosphere was great.. I still how they welcome everyone customer when they are being seated. They all yell welcome in Japanese I think.. But its so catchy

Comment: I arrived at Ippudo at 10:50am before they opened their doors at 11am. Already, a line had formed outside the door. Enthusiastic Japanese greetings filled the air as each guest was seated. Their service is very attentive and their food is a must try in NYC! I highly recommend their pork buns ($9) and their Akamaru Ramen ($15). I added a poached egg ($2) which I probably could have gone without.

Comment: The spicy veggie ramen was very good. Very flavorful and good portion of noodles. Extremely filling. Is it worth the wait? For me yeah! Just dont drink too much beer while waiting. Makes your ramen experience go south. Haha! The choc forest dessert was very good. A very shareable portion.

Comment: The best! Every part of your experience here was memorable. From the moment you walk in to the dining area, you are greeted by the staff in the Japanese language and there is a feeling of warmth and hospitality. The pork belly buns we had were out of this world. I have never had steamed buns that tasted this good. And the Ramen was very satisfying. Though we had to wait a little bit, it was worth it!
