Comment: I wondered in with friends on Friday night, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staffs and incredible of Udon Cabonara. The restaurant was filling up quickly but we managed to snag a table. We ordered Salmon Salad, Grilled Squids and so on, all them flavourful and yummy. By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit. ❤️

Comment: Such a cute vibe with amazing food. We came here for my bday dinner. I made sure my two non raw food eatin family members had things they could have off the menu and there was a great variety. We had the fried squid, fried oysters, beef tongue, bento box etc but dont forget the Sapporo. Seating was fun and the small sharing plates are perfect for a night out with friends. Cant wait to bring friends here!

The house sake was over warmed, so I’d recommend getting it cold rather than hot. Comment: This place is an absolute treasure for so many reasons, but the staff is not one of them. I do, however, love the food and atmosphere of Thai place. All of the dishes are well prepared, but I highly recommend the yakisoba noodles. The sauce is unlike anything you can find at a typical Japanese restaurant and the egg ties the whole dish together. The low lighting and posters tie the vibe with the food and create a unique experience.

Comment: Late night food shenanigans: at Izakaya, what more can you ask for? Walked in on a Tuesday night at 10:30 pm with my brother. Ordered a few things including takoyaki, chicken teriyaki don, karaage chicken, and omu yakisoba (latter two not pictured). Overall, filling but flavorsome dishes; small yet decorated interior. Servers were kewl and easygoing, for we had to visit a nearby ATM when we received our check (it’s cash only). Matter of fact, our checks were handed to us in a retro Jaws DVD! Love the quirkiness and I hope they continue to embrace that. Great spot for an after hours bite!

Comment: Creative and funky spot with a welcoming staff for any time eats but especially late night eats and drinks.They offer some sashimi, chirashi bowls and hand roll options but really come for the hot Japanese eats like fried squid tentacles, takoyaki, ramen, cod roe udon dishes, kaki fried oysters and such. Ooh they did serve my fave ankimo (monkfish liver aka foie gras of the sea) and that was super fresh and delicious!!! Loved the variety of onigiri that they served as well as the variety of grilled options like beef tongue, whole squid, mackerel to name a few.Its a tiny spot, so I wouldnt recommend this place for large groups, unless youre doing a buy out of the spot for a block of time (and not sure if they offer that) but its great for singles, for two even four tops.Well definitely be back for more!

I sat down on one and ordered the chashu don.The pork was great, the hot tea was the same fine Yamamotoyama green tea I have each morning. I got the check in a star wars DVD box. Maybe a bit loud for a date, but not bad to bring some buddies to. The kitsch hit the spot just right.

IKA SANSAI: i found this interesting so I ordered it and it was delicious! It is octopus marinated with vinegar, similar to ceveche but more lighter, i think its good with sake! BLACK GARLIC TONKATSU RAMEN: omg talking about flavor!! The smell of it was devine! And when i sip on that ramen soup it was heaven! You can taste immediately the black garlic! I love garlic so I love the stronger flavor of it! The pork is soft and melts in your mouth! Comment: A small hole in the wall Japanese place. My 3rd time visiting and I will keep coming back again. Make sure you bring CASH! The interior gives me Japan vibes. They also sell Japanese snacks inside. We started off with tako wasabi, which tasted super fresh and the wasabi added a nice kick to it. The takoyaki was standard, wish there was more octopus inside. Love the creamy mentai pasta with bacon (I always end up ordering this!) Also, had the garlic soy skirt steak, which was a bit salty for me. We also paired our meal with Choya Umeshu which made it super delish!

Salmon Box and Fried squid were my favorite. Prices are reasonable considering the portion size.Service here was also very friendly. Comment: I often frequent Izakaya Fuku since it’s not just a 5 minute walk from my apartment but this place meets all the things you want in a lowkey casual restaurant. The atmosphere is very nostalgic of a Japanese Izakaya bar. The music is usually all oldies and they age about 4-6 tables to sit small or groups of 4-5.Now as for the food! Everything I’ve tried here has been fresh and so good. The Kaarage (fried chicken). The mentai pasta and the Grilled Sirloin Steak are my favorites. Great selection of Sake and Beer.Probably my ONLY thing about the place I don’t like is just that’s it’s cash only. So just come prepared for that. Other than that, the food, atmosphere and staff are 100!!

Comment: First time eating here and enjoyed the experience. The ramen isn’t the best but it’s still pretty good ramen. The broth has flavor and the pork just melts in your mouth. The kara age tasted more doughy than fried but it wasn’t bad. But everything tasted good. The only real downside overall was how pricey the food was. For the price, the portion is on the tiny side. They look big in the photo. Like the beef tongue looks huge in their menu but it’s actually pretty tiny each slice. About the size of a ring finger in length. The size portion of the ramen, omu yakisoba and onigiri were very good in portion. I would totally come back. They only accept cash but they also accept Venmo.

Comment: Definitely a very solid izakaya. Think of this place as a upgraded version of Oh Taisho in East village. The place is smaller but kind of has a Kenka feel. The food is authentic and it made me want to go to Japan again. The place is very cozy and offers pretty strong drinks. Overall experience was great, price was fair, the only downside is that its in Woodside.

Comment: My girlfriend asked us to try this place out after seeing an ad for their squid on Instagram. The restaurant is a bit small, but the aesthetic is amazing. The owner put a lot of work decorating the interior. The food was great as well. We were both full after three dishes worth of food.

Comment: Food is phenomenal. Weve been long due for an authentic japanese food experience in Jackson heights. Not to take away from Happy Kitchen a few blocks away, but youre not gonna find takoyaki anywhere else nearby. Not to mention the gyu don is delicious as well.

Comment: WOW WOW WOW! And thats not even saying much. Ordered from Izakaya through uber eats for the first time and was highly impressed. The presentation of the food is lovely. Had the garlic soy skirt steak, excellence and made with much care. The black garlic ramen really shook me up.... the best Ive seen so far, close to Ichiran. The pork was a little bland in flavor but you can obviously tell the texture and the preparation is top tier. Black garlic isnt my top choice but worth a try! Will order spicy next. You guys, check this restaurant out for yourself. Thanks to the kitchen.

Comment: A small restaurant on Roosevelt Ave, home to a delicious medley of Japanese dishes hidden in plain site. Came here for one of my friend’s birthday and we happened to be the only customers there. We ordered a variety of dishes: fried oysters, takoyaki, Mentai cream udon, karaage bento box, and a salmon don bento box, and spicy ramen (unfortunately, I did not get a chance to taste the ramen)Each of the food was equally delicious and did not lack in flavor. The fried oyster was crunchy on the inside and creamy on the inside with bits of oyster pieces within. The takoyaki was flavorful and surprisingly was cooked in the middle (some places tend to serve takoyaki with the batter still runny inside). The Mentai cream udon was not as creamy as I had expected. Instead it tasted more like a stir fry udon, that had a kick of spice in each bite. The bacon bits on top did finish of the dish splendidly. Highlights of the meal was the bentos. The karaage bento had elements of crunchy, soft, sour, salty all on a bed of rice. What was missing was the element of sweetness which the salmon don provided. The salmon don, contained three different types of salmon- salmon sashimi which was fresh, sautéed salmon which had a sweetness element, and salmon roe which had the salty element (and was fun to pop in my mouth). The fried egg and salad provided a good palate cleanser and a break from the salmon in the dish.I definitely would buy the salmon don bento box again... this is by far my favorite type of salmon dish.Note: This place is cash only

Comment: Love love the decor and the ambiance of the place. The food is quite delicious too. The omuyakisoba was definitely on the list. A previous visit that I made to here I enjoyed the sashimi and I must say one of the best quality fish Ive seen anywhere near the area. The hamachi(yellowtail) was fantastic quality.

Comment: My friend found this brand new Japanese restaurant in Roosevelt Ave and I’m already hooked! They just opened 2 months ago as of this writing! The vibe is very chill and feels like I was in Japan!The food was great with great price. They had less selections since they just opened but we loved it! Most of all the service was exceptional!!!They were still waiting for an alcohol license but the staff bought us Sapporo beer right across the street and served them to us consistently. Amazing service!!! Highly recommend you try this place!!!

Comment: Amazing place, amazing food. The place is a hidden gem. But they changed service lately, and those girls behave like in cheap fast food chains. They should let people at least finish the meal before kicking the guests out. There is no need to hurry a client with a bill when he is still finishing his meal or its just been 2 minutes since he finished one. Let the client ask for a bill, obviously, unless a person just sits for an hour without ordering, but thats a different case. Especially when the restaurant is not full of guests.Or dont take the food and glasses when theyre not finished, and dont stand and wait for guests to finish it. Its uncomfortable and inappropriate. Please bring back the old service. It was always an outstanding experience.
