Comment: This is actually my favorite yakitori spot for chicken skewers and beer. Staff are always friendly when I go. Best spot on the house is right in front of the grill. Stellar atmosphere. You know its good when Japanese customers come in, and the place gets super lively. I highly recommend spacing out really large yakitori orders, because they cook them fast and itll come out all at once. Id say, best for smaller groups of 2-4 or solo.I normally order the entire selection of chicken skewers; some are better with tare/sauce, some are fine with just salt and pepper.

We showed up closer to opening time and we were able to be immediately seated but as we left there was a short line to get in (Friday night). Strongly recommended!

Comment: This place is so cute and was such a great value! we came on thursday night and got a bottle of sake 50% off plus they had specials for only $1. the interior is super fun with neon lights and vintage japanese ads. the food was really tasty and way bigger portions than i expected. our server tenzin was so attentive and friendly in addition to all of the other staff. the vibe is lively but you can also come and enjoy a nice end of day late night bite. i will definitely be back :)

It’s a sub level establishment which if you blink you might miss it but their outdoor patio seating hinted that I was at the right place which I questioned myself since this was a very expensive neighborhood and not one you expect a Yakitori place. I ordered a bunch of skewers and it did not break the bank. There are some dishes you don’t see much like fried skewers which I feel did not taste as good as grilled ones. They got raw octopus app which usually served cooked most places. This was spicy with wasabi. Crowd picks up around 6p and I imagine packed around 7p and this was a weekday.

Seafood tepanyaki need more seafood, doesnt come with too much, more noodles less seafood.We ordered Sake to drink and it was great, however, Service has a lot to improve..I had to ask for water refill several times and leave the table to ask for stuff ...Nobody asked if everything is good like in other places.Great vibes, after all they left us stay after closing and treated us well. This is an experience I would repeat

I highly recommend mochi wrapped in pork belly yakitori, short rib yakitori, and motsunabe. If you like sweet and spicy food, i also recommend Toppokki as well. I will definitely visit this place again and wish the best for the new location they are opening soon.

Comment: I’ve been here a few times and while I don’t consider it to be the gold standard of izakayas (which I find are rare in NY), it does scratch the itch I developed in Asia for yakitori. But this place does have the vibe, service is good, and they do have a good range of yakitori options including chicken skin and cartilage - two of my favorites - which are both decent. So yeah, I’ll be back.

Comment: This place is one of my new favorite izakayas in NYC. This little gem never disappoints. The food is very good and not too expensive. The short rib and fried oysters are at the top of my list. On the downside, if you use the bathroom youre basically in the kitchen and with all due respect youre treated like youre in the way (which you are). I never knew who my server was so I didnt order seconds. Overall I would highly suggest that you check this place out for yourself. I will be back next time Im in the city!

They do dim the lights in the evening so it becomes very intimate but dark. Cool music playlist.The deep fried squid legs were a great appetizer. Chicken and scallion skewers were delicious! It is VERY affordable for the huge piece of chicken on there. Eggplant, shishito peppers (they’re not spicy and were sweet), and the pork with bacon skewers were also delicious. If you like fish, the Hamachi Kama is a must!! The Takoyaki was not my favorite since it was 85% batter. Although I sat outside on a humid day, 3 different employees perpetually checked on me, and were very accommodating. Food was cooked properly, fried food were crispy on the outside and moist in the inside (not greasy), sauce on the yakitoris were not too salty or too sweet, just perfectly balanced.

Comment: Came here on a Friday night (around 6:30) and a table for 2 took around 10 min. But soon after I noticed there was a line so be sure to come early. The wait staff was pretty good even though the place was really packed and busy.We came here for the yakitori but also ended up getting the karaage and okonomiyaki which were both really good. For the yakitori we had a few from each category. The chicken ones seemed a bit dry but thr others came out really nicely. My favorites were the pork jawel and the pork wrapped enoki.Its very easy to keep ordering here so try to keep a mental count of how much you ordered in total since it can get expensive very quickly. Oh if you end up setting at the bar you get a nice view of all the cooking and if youre lucky they might even give you free yakitori if they made extra!

We came here on a Wednesday night around 6pm, and there were plenty of seats, though they started filling up later.We shared a warm sake and a few skewers which were all delicious. In particular, we enjoyed the mochi wrapped in pork belly, the pork jowl, and chicken thigh. We didnt any plates, but I would definitely come back again to try more on the menu.Prices are reasonable, though as is true with yakitori anywhere, it can quickly add up since the skewers seem so small.

Just a bit disappointed if that is how they really serve for that item.I ordered two drinks from Happy hour, one is mixed with Oolong tea and it’s pretty good. The aroma and tast of Oolong, Slightly sweet with booze. The other one is like a mojito but I forgot the name. This one also good sweet and sour but a little into the sweet side.Overall, I like the vibes, the food and the service.

The yakitori skewers include chicken meatballs, chicken neck & skin, short rib and pork belly and come grilled or deep fried.
