Fried pork dumplings are perfect and the dumpling sauce is tangy! Cold sesame noodles arent too gooey- just enough sauce to be light. Comment: Very nice Chinese/Japanese restaurant, beautiful decor very impressive. The food is choices of both regular Chinese and sushi. Very nicely served and had a good taste. Waiters came around to make sure everything was fine, and to fill water. We got a combo of rolls, rice and apps. Definitely try this place you will want to go back

Comment: Wonton soup was delicious, dumplings were perfect consistency, beef with snow peas was super delicious and the shrimp with lobster sauce was amazingly good, fried rice was not overly dressed, so not salty. Lunch/ dinner was reasonably priced considering that lunch the other day at a bagel place cost us $32.00, todays meal was $40 and we have enough leftover for tomorrow. Needless to say, we’re coming back pictures to follow

Comment: What a wonderful restaurant!! The food was amazing. The restaurant was decorated with the owners tea pot collection. It reflects the owners personal interest in everything about the restaurant, from the menu, the service, the tea served. Really amazing.It is rare in this day for a family of four, for us to all leave the dinner feeling we each had a great experience, but we did. I cant wait to go back, the menu is deep and varied and I will enjoy exploring the culinary delights again and again.

Comment: For the longest time I refused to come here because my last time I was with my in-laws and my kids were 7,4,1, it was an awful experience. I blamed poor Jani. Well I’m here to tell everybody that Jani is a very good restaurant, the decor is beautiful, the service was attentive and quick and above all the food was delicious. The early bird special is the best deal around. Please forgive me Jani, I will be back.

Comment: First time there. Place is beautiful. Decorated all around the restaurant with tea pots. Very clean, staff was great. Friendly and welcoming. Online it showed a pu pu platter. They didn’t have it so we pieced it up together. Ribs had a lotta meat, soup dumplings, egg rolls, beef on a stick, cheese wontons. We had soup wonton and egg drop. We were celebrating a birthday so we just ordered a few different main courses. Everything was delicious, had boneless duck with brown sauce, sesame chicken, moo shoo pork. The server actually put it together for us, fried rice and lo mein. Had a few zombies, drinks were strong but not too strong and not watered down. Sodas, juices, tea . Everything came out to $248.00. And we had enough food to go. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable. People very friendly. Will be back again for sure.

Egg roll is fresh and the decor is old-time but lovely. I wish they would modernize the booths though like the one in Hicksville did. Leave the tea pots ! They are great

Comment: I love Jani. It’s clean, professional, they do everything with excellence. The food is well prepared and service is fast especially if you are taking out. You Can always trust a restaurant with an open kitchen. On very busy nights, they managed to get the food out reasonably fast. We have other Chinese restaurants closer to our home but prefer to take the extra trip to eat at Jani. Besides they are one of the few restaurants that still put egg in their fried rice. LolIt’s the little things…Enjoy!

That said, every time I go back to New York to visit my parents take me to Jani and Im never disappointed. Comment: What a surprise! For us, (Americanized) Chinese food has become a delivery thing or something I make myself. This place harkens back to my youth days when we would regularly go out for Chinese with family. The ambiance belies its strip mall location, I would go as far as to say its stunning . The service was old school Chinese restaurant which is to say outstanding. We didnt have anything from the Japanese side, but the food was good traditional greasy - sweet-carbolicious fare. Tip, the $2 free(!) early bird special is a deal. It says wine, but you can sub a soft drink. For $.0.75 less than what they charge for just a drink, you get the drink, 3 dumplings and a bowl of very delicious wanton soup. I guess the biggest complaint I can make is the very reasonably priced soup dumplings are just ordinary. We had a ton of food, bringing home leftovers for ~$25 per person, very reasonable considering the service and ambiance. We will be back!

It was a tasty treat.Entrees were, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, BBQ Duck, Janis House Special Udon, Blossom Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice.My favorite, was the Udon but all were delicious.The service was very friendly. What I appreciated is that you are able to enjoy your meal without being rushed. The atmosphere is quite pleasant.I highly recommend eating here.

Comment: I just want to give jani a thumbs up today. I placed an order at 4 pm. I was told to come in 45 minutes. When I got there it was very busy. Honestly I didn’t think it was going to be that busy. But being Christmas Day I should have know better. While I did have to still wait a bit other people were complaining. There was one person doing the take out and numerous people taking calls. They ALL WORKED SO HARD TODAY. so people just remember to have patience on such a busy day and give respect to the restaurant industry. Once again thank you for your delicious meal.

The crunchy noodles were perfectly salted and cooked, and they were crispier than ever. I ordered chicken and rice soup and it was phenomenal, the Broth was very well salted and the chicken was nice and juicy and the rice was great. Then we ordered dumplings and they were amazingly fried and greatly filled. Finally I order a small bowl of the soup because I couldn’t get enough of it. Perfect white meat on the general, and they actually gave enough extra sauce to go around. Dumplings were great, and each bite of the boneless spare ribs was great. No complaints in this order at all. Will definitely order from here again. The inside looked really nice too when I picked it up.

Comment: We just moved to the neighborhood and have been working on the house and unpacking. We went to Janis for their early bird special. The food was great and you get soup an appetizer and a good if wine. Miso soup was the best Ive ever had, dumplings were great and I got Buddhas delight. So good! Highly recommended!

Comment: The place is beautiful. They do need new cushions in the booth though because my family and i were sinking in the booths. Their roasted porks buns are my favorite! One of the rare places in long island where you can actually order them. Their lunch menu is decently priced. I really liked the sweet and sour chicken.

Comment: We had to make reservations as on Christmas Day few restaurants are open. The 9 of us had reservations which eliminated a long wait. Those people of non-Christian faiths still need to eat and face it a holiday for one is a holiday for all. Most of the diners appeared to be Jews and Asians with a few actually celebrating the X-mas holiday. In a few words : the food was excellent, and inspire of the fact they were jammed it truly amazing!! I would love to try this restaurant when they are. Not so busy, as it would probably be that much better. Tone slightly sobering however the service was understandably slow, but again one has to understand the situation of an exceptionally busy evening. Not one in our group felt the meal was sub-par or was underfed.Great dumplings, and entrees were tasty and generous. No room for dessert.This place is busy for a good reason... great food and a large selection. Oh, did I mention the decor, with mirrored ceilings?

You can get for example shrimp fried rice that is NOT that yellow rice but real fried rice lots of onions (if you like) & peas with nice chunks of egg to boot for about $8.00!! OH did I forget you get at least 20+ plump tasty shrimp with that. they have sushi as well & a large selection of food to choose from. You will enjoy. They have about 5 locations but,,, huntington is my least favorite & the one in hicksville is my second favorite with the one a few miles belmont racetrack a close third.
