Comment: Nice place. Host (manager?) was super rude. He berated a delivery guy, simply pointed at a tablet when we asked to put our name on the list and then yelled at us when we followed him to the table and sat down, because he realized it hadn’t yet been cleaned. Ramen was pretty good, tho, and the wait staff were all lovely.

Comment: Located right down the street from Central Park and the American Natural History Museum, this was a good ramen shop we stumbled upon. The Tonkotsu and Spicy Tonkotsu ramen were really yummy. Also the service was really good and they were accommodating to us bringing a 2 year old despite the limited space - they somehow made it work! Also the chashu fried rice was unexpectedly really tasty. Would recommend if you’re in the area.

Comment: Good no frills ramen. Average NYC prices, decent bowl. One thing I didn’t love was my bowl of ramen wasn’t super hot, but they sat us down and served us super fast. Crowded but not super loud. Not necessarily a place I’d go to to wow someone, but a good dinner vibe.

Comment: Delicious ramen. We went there when it was packed at a 15 minute wait, which took about 5. The service was a little slow, but thats because they had a full house, and they still did a very good job. We ordered two of the vegetarian ramens, one mushroom and the other just the vegetarian ramen. Both were phenomenal, and at $20 bucks each its hard to beat, especially in UWS. Its a LOT of food, but if youre HUNGRY hungry Id recommend getting the veg ramen with extra noodles. The mushroom ramen has a meat option, and it comes with a ton of noodles already. Its also nice if youre sitting near the kitchen as you can see them cooking the food, and if you are facing the street you can watch a video of Jin Ramen and how they make the soba. Its neat

Comment: Their Green Coconut Thai Curry Ramen is SO good that Id been dreaming about it since our last trip to NYC a couple of years ago. They have a vegan version of it, which is the one I get due to my various food allergies, which they were very helpful with on our most recent trip there a couple of months ago. I also really enjoyed their edamame. I thought it was perfectly cooked and seasoned.

Comment: Came to Jin Ramen prior to a museum of National History visit and was not disappointed. It was not crowded but it was busy. For starters we had the pork buns which was good. Our party had the volcano tonkotsu which was very good and spicy, regular tonkotsu also very good, kakuni the pork was delicious but the soup was a little more vinegary than expected. We will be back to try the other items.

Comment: Went here for Saturday dinner it was very busy, they dont take reservations but we got a table in about 20 mins once we put our names in the queue. For the table ordered chicken nanban buns, these were too good. Crunchy on the outside and juicy on inside. Full flavor loaded. Tried kimchi ramen with ground chicken, the quantity was huge. Its a small and cozy space but food is delicious.

Comment: One of the best ramen spots in NYC no doubt. Ive been here multiple times and all the stuff Ive tried were amazing. My personal favorite is kuro tonkotsu - the broth has a rich flavor of pork without weird meaty smell. I believe they make their broth from scratch and I can taste that authentic flavor. You may think all ramen shops do this but youd be surprised to see how many ramen restaurants in NYC use generic powder/extract products for their ramen. In addition, I want to point out that the service was really good. Ramen shops are usually super busy so I didnt expect great service (I was gonna eat and leave soon anyways). However, our server (cant remember his name but he was a tall dude with short hair) was super nice and very attentive. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and all of his recommendations were great.5/5 overall and def recommend this place.

Comment: This is the 4th time this week that Im having ramen from this place. Being under the weather for the past week, the food brought me so much comfort and relief! I usually get the vegetable ramen with different preparation options (broth & protein). Sooo good! Food is plentiful, well packaged and delicious! I get two meals out of this easy. Love the little spicy mix that they send me to adjust my spice level- as I like it SPICY. Knocks the congestion right out. I got delivery but Id like to try it in person soon. Thanks for getting me through this week! Great place!

Comment: Great ambiance for a cold Saturday night. A lot of options in the menu. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and even though it was good, I believe it needs a little bit of work to find the flavor. Comment: The establishment is a little cramped but there was no line at 7:30pm on a weekday. The service is attentive and the food is served pretty quickly. We ordered the tofu Nanban Buns which had a delicious sauce but the buns were a little soggy. I ordered the Volcano Tonkotsu and customized to be curly noodles instead of the thin. It was DIVINE. The broth is extremely flavorful and creamy, the charsu pork was very tender and juicy, the toppings were plentiful, portion sizes are enough to take home. Considering there was a bunch of spicy icons, it was actually not very spicy. They only provide a half of a seasoned soft boil egg. The price point is the downside for me. Very happy with the meal and definitely would come back again.

I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu and my boyfriend ordered the Volcano Tonkotsu ramen, I’d say that if you’re okay with Buldak kind of spicy, the volcano one isn’t as spicy and is extremely flavorful. Everything tasted amazing together, we could not get enough, the next time we visit New York, we are absolutely making sure we eat ate Jin Ramen again.

Comment: Came here on a weeknight after visiting the museum of natural history. Service was great, and the ramen was good. Only thing I would recommend is getting one of the specialty ramens. We got a basic tonkotsu and, although it was relatively tasty, it was *very* basic — just noodles, pork belly, and a few peripherals, and the presentation was underwhelming. As we were leaving we regretted not getting the specialty ramens that we saw on the other tables, which Im hoping tasted better. Would probably try it again if were ever in the neighborhood.

Comment: Wanted ramen while in NYC. This place had great reviews, and while at lunch at another restaurant, this place was recommended by people. We stopped here for lunch before the airport. The staff was very helpful with explaining the options. We ordered the pork bao buns for an appetizer and two ramens for lunch. Both of our choices were very tasty, the spicy Tonkotsu and the Kakuni. The spicy Tonkosu was just the right amount of spice, while the Kakuni was not spicy.

Comment: Definitely the best ramen place in the US so far. As a foodie I enjoyed this place so much. All the ramens I tried were amazing. The volcano, tonkotsu and another which I dont remember the name were amazing. The flavors are so diverse, strong and delicate at the same time. You can really enjoy every aspect of it. I would definitely go back and recommend. Worth every penny, which you dont have to spend a lot.

Comment: Visited the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and despite how busy the area was (Thanksgiving balloons being inflated nearby) they were able to seat us without a reservation. Our group of three all tried different entrees, ramen and one rice bowl. It was delicious. I wish I lived closer so I can frequent them to work my way through the menu. The service was quick too. A definite must try, and try again!!

Comment: I’ve been searching for the best ramen spot in NY and Jin Ramen really lives up to the hype! The food is good and the service from the staff is even better. It’s rare I find myself thinking the food was heightened by the service of the staff but at Jin Ramen it was true. I was open to suggestions, the waitress told me what was good, what was better, what was popular to most guests, and what her favorites were. She recommended we change our order on one thing and directed us to other items she believed we would enjoy more. Well, the food was all delicious and the experience is what will keep us coming back for more.Jin Ramen is a homerun. Couldn’t recommend it enough!! Is it worth going all the way to the UWS for....? Yes yes yes!

Comment: Such good ramen! The spice levels are definitely dialed down, for example I ordered the volcano tonkatsu which has a 5 pepper rating but as someone who likes spice/heat I would call it closer to 3 peppers which is perfect to enjoy the flavor and the spice- but if you want it truly hot you may have to ask for chili oil. The gyoza were good as well. The staff is very nice and the location is great right next to a small tap house as well so you can enjoy a few beers before their 5pm open time.

Comment: Some very good, genuine ramen here. I also was a fan of their buns, green beans, and japanese soda. The spicy tonkotsu was good but not very spicy, so good thing they provide extra spice on the side at tables. The ramen was great but doesnt stand above a couple of my other favorite Manhattan ramen spots: Tonchin and Ivan. However there is a wide variety of ramen offered here that I dont see at many other places which is nice. Also I love the atmosphere here! Ill be back to try their different ramen variations for sure.

Comment: Came here on a Saturday with 8 friends before peak dinner hours and they were able to accommodate. Really cant complain about the atmosphere and service of the restaurant. As expected for a upper west side ramen restaurant, the prices are between $15-20. I order the Kuro Shio as part of their signature ramen list but I shouldve stuck with regular Shio ramen since the karaage (fried chicken) just gets soggy in the broth. But I did enjoy their house noodles so overall this is a fine ramen restaurant that I wouldnt mind coming back to.

Comment: My son loves their teriyaki chicken Don, but the carrots and broccoli was too hard for him. The Tonkotsu noodle bowl was good. The price is really good considering their location in the upper west side. They showed some videos about their food and restaurant while we were sitting inside, and that’s good to look at while we were waiting. We will try more of their dishes.Make sure to put your name down in the device outside of the front door to get in the wait list. The people there were very nice.To-go order was good too. I did ordered the pork Katsu twice, but they were too dry and tough for me. The Chicken Kara-Age was great.

Comment: Fantastic! Eaten here twice, first time was take out and today we ventured to eat there (outdoor seating). The ramen ($16) tasted very authentic, good noodles likely made in house. The gyudon was also very delicious, I ordered the small ($11) and had to ask the waiter if I mistakenly got the big one, because it was actually quite big for a small! Some places will give you an actual small size bowl but this one was almost the same size as the ramen!

Our waiter was so patient with my parents. They had a lot of questions - my mom loves spicy, my dad does not. And the hadnt had ramen since college out of a styrofoam cup. But our waiter provided suggestions and answered their questions as best he could.Everyone was happy with what they ordered. My sisters bowl was completely empty - she ordered the miso ramen.I got the kiro tonkatsu (thats probably not what its called but something close to that) and it was delicious. Comment: Food: 3 starInterior: 4 starService: 4.5 starWe arrived at Sunday night and before opening, and there was already a short line waiting. However, I have to say it is just average ramen. It’s not amazingly good. The fried chicken is not as fresh as expected. The dipping sauce is just the basic one thousand island you can get from any supermarket. No surprise there. I’ve been to Japan multiple times and tried ramen each time I visit. The ramen may be authentic, but it is just so average. Since it is inexpensive and the staff was friendly, I will give it a four-star. But I was surprised by its popularity. I would assume most ramen restaurants should taste like that.

Comment: The staff is super friendly and considerate. They give kids water in plastic tumblers and easy-to-use chopsticks. The noodles are thin and cooked perfectly. The soup is the best Ive had, clear and tasty. You can order it as less salty as well. Cannot wait to go back again.

Comment: Great local ramen shop - for the upper west side. Considering all the more authentic ramen shops are further downtown, I feel extremely luck to have this gem only a few blocks away!

Comment: Ducked in for an early dinner. Was pretty quiet and started to pick up around 6:30pm. Hot buckwheat noodle soup with fried chicken. Was not bad. Came with a small salad. Portion size was large, couldnt finish it all. Service was prompt and friendly. Cost $17... not bad!

Comment: Its delicious! Its also on a popular street with a lot of great shopping places and popular venues nearby. The ramen is great! The kimchi ramen is delicious. Unfortunately its not the best ramen in the city and because of that I cant give Jin Ramen 5 stars.
