Comment: Loved everything: service, food and draft Sapporo beer which stayed cold the entire meal. The house salad is a Mt Fuji of crisp lettuce swathed in a piquant dressing. Adored the al dente dry ramen veg bowl including multo mushrooms, the best on the UWS and the house made chicken gyoza. A perfect meal crafted by an excellent chef Muhammad and served by the elegant Mansoor. We were so impressed we asked their names.

Comment: Given the wild popularity of Ramen in this city, I dont offer this recommendation lightly. Jin Ramen is truly superlative.Their ramen bowls all demonstrate a complex affinity for what ramen is as a complete dish, every ingredient is clearly carefully chosen for cohesion and elevation. Its the rare menu that Im enjoying so much that Im trying everything at least once. The noodles are spectacular as well, the perfect balance of melding with the flavors of the broth and bowl without becoming too soggy or messy. This is truly a magnificent ramen spot.

Comment: Jin Ramen is great most bad reviews are very pretentious. The spot is small, quaint, and cute. The service was really quick! Only complaint are the tables are a bit small but we ordered a lot of food and had no problem accommodating to us. We can in about 1hr 30 before closing and we did not feel rushed. The strawberry Negroni tequila cocktail was very well thought out. Matt was an awesome server. I’ll surely be back to eat with them again. I had chicken boa buns, Kimchi Ramen, my cousin had pork ramen, and we shared a Donburi bowl.

Comment: I’ve been to Jin Ramen twice and it is definitely my favorite ramen place I’ve been to in NYC so far. It’s right across from the H&R Block, so my husband and I have made it a tradition to go there to have dinner or celebrate after we finish our taxes. I love their karaage chicken and shishito peppers. Both are solid appetizers and are executed well. I’ve had the tonkatsu ramen before and this time I got the black garlic yuzu ramen with shishito peppers and karaage and the broth was peppery, spicy, and had a lot of umami. It was great! You cannot go wrong with tonkatsu ramen here -the broth is rich and flavorful. I’ve been to other ramen places in NYC where the broth is so disappointing in comparison- either not rich enough, not enough umami, or too sour. I prefer traditional Japanese ramen over the fusion styles that are rampant across NYC. If you’re looking for high-quality traditional Japanese ramen, Jin Ramen is the place to go!

Comment: Jin Ramen serves up some truly delicious ramen and other tasty dishes. If youre a fan of ramen, you wont be disappointed with the flavors and quality of the noodles and broth. That being said, its worth noting that the restaurant has become increasingly popular in recent years, which unfortunately means that it can get quite crowded and the prices have gone up as well. While its understandable that the popularity of the place would lead to higher prices, some customers may feel that its become too expensive for what it offers. Nonetheless, you must try this place if you are a Ramen aficionado.

Comment: 4.5 stars actually. The Tonkotsu ramen is soooooooo flavorful. I read it takes all day to make. I usually get food out that would make absolutely no sense to make at home and Tonkotsu ramen is one of them. One small thing is that the noodles are not top topquality. I think MOMOFUKU has them beat on that. But not the broth.

Comment: Ramen is my ultimate comfort food whatever time of the year, whatever weather or climate I may be in I need Ramen. I stopped by Jin Ramen as a newish New Yorker as my first ramen experience it was decent. I went for lunch which they do specials for some dishes from 11:30am to 3:30pm (Spicy Tonkotsu was $16 instead of $19) the spot is small and clean. Service was quick and efficient. I ordered a Sapporo Black, Spicy Tonkotsu Pork Ramen, and a side of Chicken Karaage. The Ramen was good just not spicy at all I even proceeded to get the Volcano side to spice things up... Still nothing maybe my spice tolerance is beyond restaurant spicy now. Chicken Karaage was good. I would definitely recommend. I will definitely be back!

Comment: This is my preferred to ramen place. I’m a soup person so trust me I loveeeeee ramen and tried many places. But Jim is my top fave to go to when I can. I love in the Bronx (fairly close to the bridge to cross to Manhattan Jin is a 15 min drive from me) I order and I pick it up. They never fail. They’re broth is hearty. Has a lot of flavor and it’s packed they aren’t cheap with toppings. However I would like for them to include a full egg rather than half an egg and not make me pay for my whole egg. Other than that I love this place. I give it a one star because they are a little pricey but ramen usually is pricey ¯\_( ˘͡ ˘̯)_/¯One of my fave places.

The kara-age was moist chicken thigh nuggets and the spicy mayo dipping sauce was such a good pairing.Normal and karu Tonkotsu ramen were both tasty. The pork was okay but the broth was flavorful. Served with a softboiled egg, bamboo shoots, seaweed, and noodles.Would definitely come back here again when in the mood for noodle soup

Comment: Great portion size, but really unfriendly staff. This is coming from someone who was a server for 8 years. And no, its not a cultural difference; in Japan, waitstaff is VERY friendly. At Jin, multiple American men will give you very minimal service and plenty of attitude. Im always surprised when I encounter staff that genuinely seem like they hate having customers, but the food is great. They wont seat partial parties, though, even if youll start ordering without your 1 remaining! Instead of letting your already-there members sit and start ordering, theyll make you wait outside, in the cold, because, Its too busy in here, even with 4 tables open!

Comment: Jim West Harlem is a gem of a place! I went here with two friends for a change of pace from the underwhelming ramen spots on the UES, and it did not disappoint. The soba noodles are sturdy and have a great bite, and the tonkotsu broth is simply amazing, especially the spicy version. As for appetizers, the pork buns are a must order, along with the karaage. For those that are vegetarian/vegan, worry not because there are options for you as well!We sat on the left side of the space and while the tables are close to each other, its not terrible. It does get busy, but the staff are polite and service is good. This might be my new go-to ramen spot!

Comment: Unbelievable! Going to say that this may be the best ramen restaurant there is. I’ve been to others that have better ramen or better Japanese dishes. However on variety and types of ramen, including different broths, this place has it down. There is a ramen here for everybody’s tastes and it’s delicious too. For a real ramen experience (ramen alone) this place is the best.

Not the best place for a person in a wheel chair. For a vegetarian like, their veggie donburi (rice base) and green curry noodles were excellent.

Comment: I had a mixed experience. The first time I went it was amazing. The food came quickly even though it was crowded and it was amazing. I regretted not switching my noodle type to curly because it looked more like traditional ramen where as my flat noodles seemed more like flattened udon. But the black garlic oil was really good, and even the salad exceeded my expectations. The second time I went though, it took a long time for my curry udon to come, and when it did, it was only average. The katsu on it was stringy and hard to chew in places. The Karaage was super good though.Im still going to go again though. I think the experience you have at this restaurant depends a lot on what you order and whose working at the time.

Comment: I dont usually eat Ramen but my friend invited me here earlier today for lunch. I found a solid vegetarian option and it was delicious and satisfying. Fast and very friendly service.I wouldnt go again because ramen isnt my type of food, but for everyone else who likes it, Id definitely recommend this place. My friends rave about this fairly often.

Comment: I enjoyed the food so much! Jin is a tiny place right outside the 125st station. On this rainy day, there are people waiting outside the restaurant. I had to wait for over 30 minute to be seated. Use yelp to checkin before you go. Will save you time. I had tonkotsu, karaage and sapporo draft. The noodle is impressive, the broth is very tasty yet not so salty. easily one of the best ramen place in the area!

Comment: The Spicy Tonkostu was very good. It had a silky/creamy texture, a suitable level of spice which was enjoyable and not overpowering, tender chasu and goey soft boiled egg. It was a little heavy on the menma (bamboo shoots) but to those who enjoy it, its a plus. Presentation is nice and atmosphere as well with a nice modern Ramen shop look with a traditional feel. The interactions with staff feels slightly tense and they seem to gravitate toward the front and wait for food to come out or talk when someone should stay around the back looking for customers who have plates off to the side, need water refills, or are done so they dont have to wait as long or have to grab someone attention. Customer service seems to be an issue with this spot based on other reviews Ive seen. Surprised they had no rice and had to tell customers they had to order something else. You can hear the customers were disappointed and it is surprising to see from a new business. Overall the food was great and the service could use some work. At the cost of the Ramen ($17), I would say its more towards dinner than lunch. That being said, Id recommend going to Ippudo where the level of service is better and the food slightly better for the same cost.

Comment: Oh gosh, where to start? Jin Ramen is excellent! Their staff are friendly and professional and their chefs are experts (and you can watch them work as they make their delicious broths). My wife and I recently went to David Changs famous Momofuku Noodle Bar hoping it would be at least on par but it didnt hold a candle to Jin Ramen. They have quite a few varieties of ramen and all of the different ones that we have tried so far have been hearty, hot, and perfectly seasoned. You can find any level of spice and flavor that you would like here. On top of all of this, if you come by on a Sunday morning, you can get yourself a surprisingly delicious sakemosa.Overall, an excellent place that we find ourselves returning to time and again for some good old-fashioned comforting ramen.

Comment: Solid ramen and a low key atmosphere describe this place. The ramen is good and filling, but it is nothing special. It has flavor, and was not too spicy for me. The portion size was also on the bigger size for my miso ramen. The service was very accommodating and pleasant. It is fairly priced and worth the visit if youre craving some ramen.

Comment: Never judge a location by the authencitity of staff or the dimly lit decor, otherwise youll walk right past the best ramen and Japanese food spot in West Harlem.Their offer of 1/2 price apps for dine in guests only, prompted me to walk in and give the location a try. This was my first time at a Jin Ramen and if all the franchise taste the same, I will gladly add this brand to my list of go to Japanese restaurants.Their menu selection is fairly standard and includes the classics like fried chicken bites (karaage) and pork bao. My decided to test the location by ordering my go to items which are the pork buns and the tonkatsu ramen. Both items utilize the pork belly and because its 1/2 priced, I threw in the chashu don to try it 3 ways. The chashu don is mildly flavored, open for guests to customize with more soy sauce or spice if preferred. The pork buns was a winner as I gobbled the two buns down wanting three more. A little messy to eat as it soaks up the house sauce, but definitely worth using your hands for the full experience. Finally the tonkatsu ramen which utilize a 6 hour broth had body without the heavy oil taste. It was a lighter take but conveys the message that it is tonkatsu soup. What really wowed me ontop of the pork bao was the consistency of the ramen. As they make it in house, these noodles picked up the flavor but doesnt bloat or become soggy as I enjoyed my meal.It was truly an eye opening experience and a reminder that you cannot judge a book by its cover, much like a restaurant by its chef.*bonus- this place does delivery which means delicious food is only a click away.

Comment: I stop by fairly regularly for takeout, though its definitely intended to be a sit down place for the most part. Its fairly small, but the service is great, and theyre usually busy during lunch time.I usually get their gyudon, which is a very comforting food for me. It is usually very moist, with the sauces messing with the rice well, though there are some days when its a bit dry. Overall would recommend.

Comment: The ramen and rice bowls here are phenomenal! I love spicy food and their spicy ramen is actually pretty spicy. Unlike some places that serve spicy food that isnt spicy at all. Comment: Pretty solid selection of ramen varieties, a bit pricey but that is to be expected in New York. The flavor wont compare to ramen shops in Japan but above-average for a shop in the states. Comment: Excellent ramen with delicious broth and great service in a nice setting. We chose to sit at the bar were you can observe the cooks in action. It can be entertaining if thats your thing. Both the (seasonal) garlic and regular Tonkotsu ramen were great. Even though the garlic oil is a nice take on the regular one, the regular is still the most pleasing (IMO).Following some review advices, we also had the Chashu Fried Rice (as appetizer). Really tasty and quite large and filling. Definitely something to share.I honestly think the place deserves a 4.5 but considering whats around, 5 stars doesnt seem undeserved.

Comment: Really glad I finally made my way over here. Came here on a Saturday night solo mission around 8:30. If youre comfortable doing it, going by yourself is a good option. There will likely be a seat open at the bar for you to sit down and skip the line of people waiting for tables. I only waited for about 2 minutes while they wiped the bar space. I ordered the chicken buns, which were pretty good. They come with a cabbage slaw that really adds to the dish. Also had the spicy tonkotsu ramen. They initially forgot my pork, but they brought our some later in a separate bowl. I really REALLY enjoyed that dish. Broth was delicious, and I didnt need additional noodles to sop it all up. If I go back, Ill get that again and order additional pork to top it off. This isnt my favorite ramen spot in the city, but its a quick bus ride from where I live in Harlem. Ill definitely be back.

Comment: Finally made the trek up here! We came as a rather large party, with people a little staggered, but the staff was really nice about it and seated us as we came.I really enjoyed the broth and toppings--I can see why Jin is one of the top ramen houses! Its a massive portion, and the broth rich but not nauseating. My only nitpick is the noodles -- it may have just been my bowl, but the noodles were a bit overcooked and stuck together. I prefer my noodles a little firmer, so this was a little disappointing. Ill be sure to try it again though!

Comment: Its a solid 3.5 stars, its one of the better ramen place that has solid basic shio, shoyu, miso, and tonkatsu options. I never tried their other gimmicky fusion ramen so cant comment on them. This place is your no frills neighborhood ramen shop, youre not paying for presentation and they dont care for it. Case in point, my ramen came with a beautiful egg hidden under a giant wooden spoon and I didnt even notice it was there... Same can be said of the service, the place was half full but we had to wait for a loooong time for the staff to come take our orders, didnt even ask us for drinks. But again, if you expect the level of service similar to a food stall next to a train station in Tokyo, then you should be a happy customer.

I was told I could order from the other place and they would bring it to my table but I just ended up going to the right location. That aside the food was good and the prices reasonable. Comment: Arguably... no definitely (!!), the best ramen spot in Manhattan. Wait for my party of 2 was about 10 minutes on a Tuesday night and this place was packed.Funnily enough, this restaurant has almost no Japanese waiters or cooks but delivers the excellence and more of Totto Ramen and Ippudo combined.Based on the Yelp reviews, I ordered the steamed buns and Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen with bean sprouts, mushrooms, and a side bowl of rice-- I was not disappointed. The broth for the ramen was so creamy and delicious. The noodles were thick and filling. The pork buns? They sent me to heaven and back.**Note: The best seat in the house is definitely the corner seat by the door. Most spacious and comfortable. They do accept Credit Cards ( I used my Amex). No reservations. The bathroom is reasonably clean.
