Comment: Came here one day after craving some miso soup. Cute tiny place that has classic family restaurant vibes. Very simple and you could definitel they had been operating out of this upstairs location for 30 years. I got the tofu bento box lunch special and they were nice enough to sub out the California roll for avocado cucumber when I asked for no meat. The sushi itself was above average maybe in the low to mid 7s. The tofu was silky and very Yummy. Good carrot ginger dressing on the salad. Nice courteous waiter. overall I enjoyed the bento box and would go back. Seemed like a chill nyc experience. Not for everybody but very funky and vibes. I think they added gratuity but I couldn’t tell. I got a soda which may or may not have been included with the lunch special.

Comment: I got a pickup order of sushi from uber eats. The rolls were quite good. However, the price before discounts for this small tray was about $55–what? Considering the buy one get one free deal on the rolls it was a good value, but the full price is crazy! Nevertheless the sushi was in fact good so I’ll probably be back to try some of the other items on their menu, without paying uber eats insane markup

Comment: I wish this was not located in New York but in Dallas instead because this place would be my ONLY go to sushi spot. They have limited sittings but had such a nice ambiance. The service was fantastic as they were very attentive and courteous. Now, the sashimi was amazingly fresh, miso soup tasted delightful, shrimp and vegetables tempura had the perfect crispy crunch. The sushi roll was made with perfection with such scrumptiousness that no other sushi place can be compared.

Comment: One of my go-to sushi restaurant here in downtown Manhattan.Dont be fooled by their restaurant location, it might be too small for a restaurant since they are just like in an apartment space but their food is amazing, they have these unique sushi rolls to choose from and they have good staff as well, very nice and accommodating.I will definitely recommend them with their sushi rolls.Visit them for some sushi cravings.

The soup was delicious, plenty of good toppings and good noodles and a lovely broth, and the California roll was good too. Fun view of the street from the second floor. Comment: A pack of 6 hungry LA residence on the streets of cold packed pre-Christmas New York in the morning. Good reviews and close proximity has convinced us unanimously.Fist impression, where is the restaurant? There is a sign, but no entrance! Oh, that is because the restaurant is upstairs, in a residential apartment. I should say - very authentic Tokyo vibe (by a Tokyo resident). That was already a good sign and a refreshing view. The restaurant is tiny, sits I believe only 3 parties, one being 6 people max. Which gives its own homie Tokyo vibe. The only reason we got a spot is the other party agreeing to leave the moment they saw us. We waited outside and got called in after about 10 minutes. Now, don’t get me wrong, this is a vibe description, and not at all a complain of any kind.Next amazing vibe we got was a Christmas music. You probably think “what’s so special about Christmas music in NYC almost before Christmas”. Well, it’s a collection they went with: an instrumental version of all the loved and famous songs. Easy to have a conversation, I’m big on that!Menu.This is we’re my first and probably the biggest complain is. Some members of my party are always on the look out for a “good deal”. If it wasn’t for them I would have missed it. Those people choose to go with a lunch special which (as stated on the menu) was there until 4:30pm. Well, Imogene our surprise, when we start ordering and “oh, it is holiday season, so lunch is into 3pm”. Hmmm. Please understand my complaint. A restaurant must make money in every way possible, and the city is packed more than normal. Raising prices for tourist season is perfectly understandable and normal. What isn’t normal is that neither have they updated the menu for the holiday season nor did they warn us about it when we sat down.What we tried.Beef Teriyaki Bento4 stars.Beef comes medium rare by default, large portion that can feed a grown man.Chicken Katsu Bento4 stars.Very filling, side of lemon is a nice touch.Tabayaki Udon4 stars.Large portion, very filling, interesting not boring toppings.Rock n roll2 stars.Comes warm, yummy, however its description threw me off. It said “cucumber wrapped deep fried”. I was a so excited to see how that works. It was not cucumber wrapped, it just contained some.Philadelphia3 stars.Used smocked Salmon, instead of raw. Granted, that is what the menu said, however I expected, if my favorite Americanized roll is served with this alternation, there have to be other modifications to the roll, to balance the flavor.Saba roll3 Stars.When a thought “Sushi Stop makes this better” comes to mind, it is not a good sign.Tempura Ice-Cream with Red Bean Flavor5 Stars.Was the absolute star of my lunch. Serves 2 people.

Comment: Tiny sushi spot on the first floor serving fresh sushi and other Japanese items. The sushi rice is really delicious and compliments the fresh fish quite well. Great for a quick lunch. Arrive before the rush otherwise it might take a little long to get your food. Make sure you have your vaccination card!

Comment: I love Kiku. It’s right by my work so I will often get the 2 or 3 roll lunch special which comes with miso. It’s great value and super fresh and tasty. I’ve also dined in before and have tried a few of their other dishes and everything is really good. Highly recommend, especially for the price, can’t go wrong.
