Comment: One of the best omakase I ever had! This rating isnt about the food but more about a few things that happened that could improve service.- Bowery location has a 10 course omakase option and the Columbus location only has 15 course. I was not aware of that as I booked the Bowery location originally- We paid $100 deposit. This is fine, the only issue was when i tried to add my tip, it didnt include the $100. The server came back to me in front of everyone asking why I tipped so low! It was very embarrassing, especially in front of family. Once we realize it was because i prepaid a part of the dinner already it was fixed. This should have been mentioned either before paying or taking out the $50 deposit as a whole on resy,- Overall, great food, just some rules that can be changed

Comment: The quality of the food was unreal. Along with the quality of the meat, I judge a sushi place by its side dishes, and it was A+. My all-time favorites are the toro tartare, Medium fatty tuna, spot prawn and scallop. The Tekka Don was a thorough surprise as the toro tartare and uni were really, really tasty. Another interesting aspect of Kissaki is that you can choose a set for Omakase, which made for a unique experience.

Comment: There was a birthday while we were there, and it was clear how they care for those they consider friends and family. All I can say is WOW! Every dish was so good. One of my favorite sushi dining experiences in the city and I cannot wait until Im back. The courses were amazing and worth every penny. Ambience was simple and classy. The dinnerware was so pretty, I wish I couldve bought a dish set from them hahaha.

The chefs are knowledgeable, attentive, and take a genuine interest in getting to know their clientele. Their dishes are edible arts! The atmosphere was quite lively and service was the best Ive ever had. Each dish was so delicious and plated beautifully. One of my favorite dishes were the sashimi (Medium fatty tuna and Striped jack).

Comment: Ill come back soon! They gave us a break-down of tuna and explained the different parts we would be enjoying. Overall amazing experience, would recommend for any event! This was hands down 100% THE best Japanese experience I have had to date (disclosure - I have not yet been to Japan). The restaurant is nice and cozy and - essentially one sushi chef per two parties. There is attention paid to every last detail of your dining experience.

Comment: I saw this place many times before but never got the opportunity to try it yet. Last Saturday was my first time to try this place. We went for a table Omakase. An absolutely extraordinary restaurant experience! The ambiance had a modern yet elegant vibe. I loved their tasteful and minimalistic decorations and exquisite dinnerware. Nowhere in the area could do the same as Kissaki! I really cant fault the meal at all in terms of quality and technique.

Comment: Our waiter gave us excellent service. This is probably the only sushi place I would ever go to constantly, and have recommended it to a few friends and cant wait to bring them here. The food here is top-notch, if youre omakase fan, you shouldnt miss this place. You have the option to add on to your baseline menu, we added Japanese sea scallop (amazing) to ours, and had the Nagano Soba Cha pairing.

Comment: I had heard about this place, so I thought Id try. We went here on a Wednesday night, and it was pretty full, but we didnt have to wait that long. We ordered the Omakase set, with miso soup, Yellowtail tartare and Spicy tuna Fat Rolled Sushi, Avocado Maki, and Ume Kimino Soda (for drinks). The Lean Bluefin tuna sashimi was my favorite - delightful, and we actually ordered two more servings of it. It had a really great flavor and was tender and juicy. Straight from the ocean fresh, and just melt in your mouth delicious. The Fat Rolled Sushi was huge and unique, flavorful and delicious.

Comment: The amazing price, convenient location, and absolutely to die for delicious fish, scallop and prawn is why you should run and not walk to this place! Im a sushi fan, so I cant help but order it when I go to sushi places, and while they were fresh, flavorful and umami, they werent overly seasoned, so the eater could taste and enjoy the real beauty of different ingredients. Staff was attentive, place was clean, and food was delicious. Parking is hard if you want to park out of the street. Found my new favorite Japanese restaurant!

Comment: After trying probably most of the sushi places, Ill have to pick Kissaki as my #1! The atmosphere is open and spacious. We got sat quickly and enjoyed the feast. And it was really a feast for both of us. Several serving of different sashimi and nigiri, Salmon Maki and Kanpyo Maki, side of nori, 2 bowls of miso soup and nice and crunchy edamame. Yuzu Kimino Soda was my favorite drink. Everything was super dope and amazingly delicious.

Comment: The employees here were super attentive, and worked with us well. They let us wait while my friend who was stuck in traffic came up to a half hour late. They were patient for respectful. We had Omakase Hachi set and some sashimi à la carte along with Spicy Negihama and Tekka Maki and Spicy tuna Futomaki. This was a lot of fun and well priced. The food was well flavored and cooked. Exiting quality and flavor profiles with interesting textures.

Fast service and I liked how the staff was willing to educate on everything about Japanese cuisine. Variety of fish to chose from is great. I recommend the Salmon-Cu thick roll and Bara Chirashi with their homemade Ponzu sauce on the side! Overall, very delicious!!! Will return 100%!

Honestly.We bought 4 of the Premium Omakase Maxi to celebrate a friends birthday, and I was amazed at the care and thought put into the experience. I ordered for pick-up, as we were eating at home, and it was two bags filled with boxes and containers that were packed carefully and snugly, so that nothing would move on the subway ride to the apartment.We unpacked the bags, and found, for each person, a container with edamame, a container with miso soup, a box with soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi, and a box with 12 pieces of nigiri and 5 futomaki. The boxes were high quality, so we were excited to have an omakase experience after almost a full year of not being able to eat out.After a short amount of time for everyone to get their photoshoot in, we tucked into the food.To start, the miso soup had an interesting red kelp in it, and also had a great smoky flavour. It tasted just a bit different than the regular miso soup that I was used to, but in a really positive way. The soup tasted more complex than your run of the mill miso soup, and the red kelp was a surprise, too!We ordered four different varieties of futomaki to make sure we were able to try them all, and so my friends and I were able to try all of the delicious varieties that we could order.For the nigiri itself, I do wish we had some sort of instruction or written component that explained what we were looking at or eating. My friends and I arent fish connoisseurs or knowledgeable enough about fish to be able to identify cuts of fish based on look or texture, BUT we did have a lot of fun trying to do so.That said, every single piece we had was amazing. Full stop.We worked our way through the box, together, commenting about what we liked and didnt like about each piece, sharing taste and texture notes, and that was really fun to do at home. The care and quality that each piece of nigiri appeared to have put into it is very apparent, and we could not have asked for a better at-home omakase experience.Kissaki gave us an amazing meal, and I cannot wait to come back and do it again.

Comment: Amazing addition to uws. Carefully crafted exquisite nigiri minimally adorned with a brush of yuzu or a dollop of caviar. The uni sundae don bowl and the Chu toro and otoro nigiri are two of my favorite bites of sushi I’ve ever had. Definitely very pricey but they also have surprisingly inexpensive maki rolls if you just want a quick bite. Their cocktail bar competes with any mixology inspired bar in the city. Great dessert as well. Very lovely sidewalk seating with heat lamps.

Due to a miscommunication, half of our party (me) ended up at the Bowery location whereas the other half of us (our friends) had made the reservation at the UWS location.Benjamin not only helped us get up to the UWS but also offered multiple options including moving the reservation and deposit down to Bowery.We will return to the Bowery location - not just because it’s closer to our home, but also because of the excellent consideration provided to guests.
