Comment: I eaten at different Japanese restaurants before and was disappointed I have to say. When I started to go to Kotobuki Japanese restaurant in Happauge I won’t go any other place now. The food is out of this world I love there pink Ladys, Tuna avocado,Oysters, 20 sashimi and anyone of there rolls. The only thing I have never had a taste for is cook eel. I would love to learn how to prepare all the foods they make especially there I believe it’s called undo they give it to you before your meal. When I go there I have to travel 20 miles from my house and I always buy enuf for two days. I have been going there for 8 years now. The food is great the people are great and the atmosphere is great. But you better get there earlier then it opens up it fills up fast.

In addition to Excellent sushi, they also have a great sake selection that should not be overlooked.Service is fast and friendly. Be prepared to make friends with people dining to your left and right. Its only avoidable if you choose to be rude. Youre packed in pretty close. Definitely not a reason to stay away. Babylon location is my favorite because theres a bit more room.

Comment: Ordered Kotobuki tonight! It’s raining out, ordered Uber. This place is always busy, dine in or take out. This is my go to spot if I want to eat sushi and only want the raw stuff. It’s so good over here. I forget sometimes how good they are. The packaging is simple not like the other fancy places. They spend their money on the food! The quality is really good! You get what you paid for over here! The ginger was so good compare to the other places. This is fresh ginger, hints of sweet and spicy to it. I loved the ginger, it was nice big pieces and crispy. The wasbi was good too not so spicy!! The sashimi were nice chunks compared to some other places that give you very thin slices. They don’t mess around when it comes to the food! This place doesn’t have fancy chopsticks and packaging. This place has the best quality of fish in Long Island! 🙌

Now to be fair it was extremely busy and packed but I would recommend spacing the customers out a bit. No one was 6 feet apart. My family is fully vaccinated but please be careful. I would rate 5* if there was spacing or people checking on the vaccine status.

Comment: The decor of the restaurant is sleek and elegant. Their service was very attentive with waiters consistantly filling our water but also asking how we were. The waiter gave very good recommendations for the table, was very personable and communicative. He told us about the history of the restaurant and even asked us if we wanted spicy mayo on the side. He checked up on friend to see if he liked our recommendations. He made very funny remarks before handling each of our plates, he made our visit wonderful.

Ive probably been to the Hauppaugue and Babylon locations 100 times and the only 2 times I havt been able to eat my meal have been the last 2. Comment: Sunday dinner at Kotobuki is a must! LOVE the food. The freshest sushi Ive ever had. Platters are huge. The 2 of us can just barely complete a sushi for one platter, which includes soups and salads. The sushi for two is huge and includes soup, salad and sauteed oysters which are insanely delicious. I love the white tuna crudo,Alaska role, teriyaki chicken, and shrimp tempura. Ask for a Banzi -half saki and half plum wine. All the waitresses are wonderful. Be prepared to encounter a line at the door at times Small but very clean and well maintained. Can say enough good things about Kotobuki!

Last night we went for our anniversary & I had the miso soup, Crazy Tuna Roll & Rainbow/Spicy Tuna Roll with the house plum wine (my favorite!).I was mpressed as always! The fish is the freshest Ive ever had. Great service - we always tip big at this place because the staff is amazing. Whoever set our table had only put down 1 pair of chop sticks but they noticed when we were seated and gave us the 2nd pair before we even had a chance to say anything about it. I was surprised to only wait about 15min on a Saturday night (we have had a longer wait but its 1000% worth it!!!!) Highly recommend this amazing restaurant!

Comment: The hot towels before your meal are a very nice touch. I ordered a tuna and avocado salad as well as the American dream roll (as this restaurant is known for its rolls). The salad was a generous portion size (over half an avocado was in it) and the spicy mayo dressing was on the side allowing us to dress the salad to our taste. The American dream roll was very tightly packed. Id happily come again.

Comment: By far, my favorite sushi in the area!! Marvin and I were really craving sushi the other day so we decided to try it out again. We ordered the appetizer KMAC sliders which were fantastic. The bun was extremely crispy but light at the same time. The sliders consisted of chopped tuna, avocado, rice and tempura flakes which were an amazing combination. I honestly have to say, this appetizer was the favorite part of this meal! For the main course, Marvin got beef teriyaki and I got two rolls, Out of control which was tuna and avocado rolled with topiko as well as the Remixed Caterpillar roll which was a delicious combination of eel, avocado, tuna, tempura flakes and a different type of sweet eel sauce. Both of these main courses were not only beautifully presented but they also tasted just as good at they looked. My only complaint is that the restaurant is on the smaller side so the wait may be a little bit long and when you are seated it might be a bit cramped, definitely a more intimate environment rather than coming here with a group. I highly recommend Kotobuki if you are craving high quality sushi or just a really great meal in general.

I miss it since I left NY.My favorites are the salmon carpaccio, the nabeyaki udon, the salmon avocado salad, and the hiyashi wakame.The horseradish sauce with the carpaccio is excellent, and we often ask for more.The service is great, and the waiters really got to know me and my friends.The price has gone up almost every time weve been there, but even so, its still extremely inexpensive (for the quality).The sushi for 1/2/3 is usually enough for 1.5x-2x the people.

Comment: I enjoy the Sushi here; however, there is always a long wait for a table and they do not accept reservations. There is no bar area where you can sit comfortably and wait. The waiting area is small and always crowded on the weekends. The seating is way to close together.They need to expand the space or move to another location. Take out orders take too long.
