Comment: Amazing dining experience for our party. I highly recommend the Angry Dragon Roll. Visual is on point and the roll itself tastes great. The stir fry udon is also recommended, slightly sweet and salty, the king oyster mushrooms in the udon really enhances the flavor.

For the sushi, they can quite literally make anything you want. They have SO many options for their food menu. The waitresses were very nice, helpful, and fast! They even boxed up our leftovers for us. The prices were very reasonable considering what youre getting. Will definitely be coming back here

Comment: A lot of people think downtown sushi is the best in Buffalo…. But boyyyy are they wrong… Kumo is lowkey the best in Buffalo, and the hidden gem of the Target-Walmart-Walmart intersection. Good basics, and excellent specialty rolls (rec angry dragon roll). Also have hibachi and Japanese beers (rec Asahi Dry with sushi, Sapporo with hibachi).I grew up in the area and went to their grand opening. Crazy to see their rise. Expect a slight wait at dinner time, it’s a small location but lots of people want to eat there. You can always call ahead to see how it looks.

Comment: Fantastic options on sushi with tons to choose from. They have special daily made rolls and also their regular menu options. Absolutely give the spicy, tuna, avocado appetizer a try. They are crispy little bites that you and your table mates will be fighting over. They also have hibachi and regular dinners, but just a few. Not tons of seating, so if you don’t feel like waiting, come at an off time. We went at dinner time and we waited maybe five to ten minutes.

Comment: Was invited here by my niece who has gone here several times and she wanted me to try it. Im glad I did. The staff was friendly and service, atmosphere and food was great.I tried the dumpling deep fried spicy tuna appetizer, crab love sweet potato, and my nieces, the Himalayas and the mummy which each was so tasty, fresh and full of flavors. Reading the menu had me wonder what to try and how would it tastes because some of the combination ingredients seemed like they wouldnt taste good together but for my choices and how they were prepared and tasted, each was very good. I also tried some general tso chicken broccoli with black rice which I ordered to take home for my husband and that was good too. My drink of choice was their hot Asian tea which I always enjoy. My niece asked if i would come eat here again and i definitely would. Prices seemed reasonable for the restaurants I enjoy.Thank you Kumo staff for an enjoyable lunch today.

We have celebrated numerous birthdays, anniversaries, and a number of several special occasions here.The service is great, and the sushi is absolutely to die for. We recommend venturing out of your comfort zone and trying some of their special rolls. It’s absolutely delicious.I’ve moved out of the Buffalo area to NYC, however when I travel for a work trip I always make a point to stop here and get my Kumo craving satisfied.Highly recommend!

Comment: I still think this is one of the best places to get quality sushi in Buffalo. I went on a Sunday evening and it was packed (both dine in and take out). People must like it haha. Staff were very friendly and accommodated food allergies when informed. They even provided on the house dessert for my party of nine. We were celebrating my girlfriends birthday. I didnt even ask for anything for the occasion (nor did I tell them ahead of time the reason for the reservation). I think they got the hint when people started giving her gifts. Either way, it was very thoughtful of them. A pleasant surprise :)The food presentation is just as good as the taste!

The onions and carrots with the negimaki were perfect. Im near them for work several times a week, and Ive always ordered from many Asian restaurants in the past near here but Ive found my new favorite. Fresh strips of ginger tops off the dish. The fried rice has very tender and juicy meat and is not dry or overcooked. It has plenty of meat and rice without being filled with too many vegetables. I did not have one nor did many other customers coming in. We did not have to wait for a table. Got seated next to the hostess cash out desk. We were a party of two at a four person table. The unused part of our table was used for storage of all the takeout orders waiting to be picked up. There were other tables available. I found this a bit odd but not terribly inconvenient.I will probably visit Kumo again or call for takeout. We had sushi and teriyaki this visit I would like to try something from their hibachi next time.

The sushi is amazing the staff was attentive the sushi was amazing the bathrooms were very clean the sushi was amazing the atmosphere was very relaxing and did I mention the sushi was amazing! They clearly made their own soy sauce in house, you expect this blast of saltiness from the soy sauce only to be met with a subtle flavor that does only one thing! I always take pictures to make my friends jealous, because their sushi rolls are to die for and are priced so affordably that I could live off of this food every day if I had no self control. I just had the bento lunch today and it was so much food for so little money and it was all cooked perfectly.The staff is so sweet and attentive. The decor is beautiful all throughout the restaurant with pleasant music. The plates are always so beautifully arranged and I can never quite decide what I want to try next.This place honestly soothes the soul and I want to thank the owners and staff from my heart for creating such a wonderful place to enjoy such wonderful food.

Everything was amazing, staff was friendly and helpful. This place can be very packed. But if youre willing to be sitted at the sushi bar it would be quicker. Remember to tip the sushi bar if you enjoy the roll. Also, if you sit at the sushi bar youll get a free seaweed salad appetizer compliment from the house. We will definitely come back.

It did take a little while to pick up my order as it was so busy on a Friday night... but the food was well worth it! Everything we ordered was amazing! My husband and I have enjoyed quite a few of their appetizers, their sushi rolls, their entrees and even gotten their sashimi and sushi platters. Their wine selection has a good variety as well as tasteful saki. The service is always spot on, and the atmosphere is stunning. The owner never forgets us and that to us says alot. When we get a night out this is our go to place. Would highly recommend if you are looking for high grade seafood, and a damn good spicy tuna roll. Would also highly recommend making a reservation because the waiting area is tiny!
