Comment: This is THE place for sushi! I have been coming here for over 10 years and I will never go anywhere else. The staff is amazing, the owner is by far the best guy! The food is out of this world! Order anything on the menu and you will not be disappointed!! Every bite is mouth watery fresh! I recommend the AJI, TORO AND KING SALMON!

Comment: Our got to sushi spot. Only sushi around thats always fresh and good. I must say though, the portions have gotten smaller and smaller. We ordered $100 (2ppl) and we were starving after. The sushi, sashimi pieces and rolls are laughably small now compered to other places we tried.

Comment: The lunch selection was great. Spicy tuna roll & a non-spicy roll were delish . The miso soup was lightly salted ( the way I prefer it), the pickled ginger was spot on for flavor and quality . More trips to come in the future .

Comment: The BEST sushi spot in Long Island. Always incredibly fresh sushi with a great variety of chef specials. Uni is always my go to there but you’ll never be disappointed with the fish selection and quality. The rolls are delicious, sake is always flowing and the staff never fails to impress. Comment: I live in NC and accidentally ordered from the wrong Kumo Sushi. After arriving to the NC Kumo Sushi and finding out they didn’t have history of our order, we realized that we ordered from the one in NY by mistake. We called to cancel the order, but they had already made the food (several rolls of sushi and teriyaki chicken). Without even asking, they said they would refund our money because of the mistake. I feel that’s unheard of these days, they were so unbelievably kind. If we are ever in NY, we will be by to try their sushi!

One of the toddler was making us crazy by shouting randomly and the people that were dinning along with the server were all nice and accommodated us thank you.Over all food was good. Comment: If you need a fast, fresh, and filling lunch, or dinner for that matter, Kumo is the place in Plainview. Their service is absurdly fast, some might feel too fast. The wrapper from the straw barely touches the table before a waiter takes it away. But its all done politely nonetheless, and all to make room for the next plate. If you know to expect this, you can leverage it when in a hurry. In and out from a solid, tasty, fresh, and very affordable sushi lunch in less than an hour. Their green tea is remarkably good as well. Ive left Plainview recently and will miss my frequent Kumo lunches!

Comment: Fresh sushi and delicious food. Little bit pricey but thats expected for good sushi. My only complaint is the special rolls are a bit large and lots of rice. I prefer my sushi to be single bite so you can have all flavors at once rather than 2 or 3 separate bites per peice. The bbq eel was one of the best i have had. Definately try the bbq eel and the crab salad with vinegar and cucumber.

So although you may THINK bad food should result in immediate symptoms, thats simply not the case, which is why its extremely hard to prove any establishment is the culprit unless a large number of people all experience the same thing. Given that no one else was sick from that restaurant, your wife was probably inoculated elsewhere, and given your (falsely) accusatory demeanor, their curt reaction was justified. Ask your physician; hell tell you the same thing.As for the restaurant: Excellent sushi!

Comment: Im very surprised at any negative reviews. Kumo is one of the best sushi places on Long Island. I dont work there or anything like that, just a happy customer. They have the most creative rolls for sure. Try the Pizza Sandwich (yes a ridiculous name)! Its has a very stylish decor and is a pretty cool place. The ONLY downside of Kumo is that it tends to get pretty packed and loud, so I dont recommend it for a romantic dinner if its during any peak times.
