Comment: We chose Lilli and Loo for my son’s special 7th birthday lunch, and it did not disappoint! We both have serious gluten intolerances and could not believe how many delicious gluten free options there were. He declared it was a “dream come true” to be able to eat his favorite dish, lomain and I enjoyed my Pad Thai and Spring Rolls. The staff was so kind and accommodating and even surprised him with a birthday candle and song.

Comment: Its hard to find good pan-Asian food, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the Unaju, Singaporean noodles, and egg drop soup was that we had for dinner. There is a large selection of different Asian cuisines and though Im not gluten free, there is a whole separate menu for it which seems like a nice differentiator!

Comment: Was really looking forward to an all gluten free Asian restaurant. I got the fried dumplings but they only fried one side and left the other side steamed and it was such a weird taste and texture experience. I had never had fried dumplings like that before. They said I had to ask for them well done to get them fried on both sides. They would have made them be great, so make sure to ask if that is what you want. The general Tsos chicken was alright. It was a little too hard. I hadnt had this since I was a gluten-eating kid and I dont remember that dish being so hard. I am still going to go back and try other dishes though. Hopefully, I will find some that I will always go back for.

Comment: I havent been able to casually just get dumplings anywhere since my pre-celiac diagnose days about five years ago, until I went to Lilli and Loo! Omg their gluten free dumplings are amazing! In both the fried and the steamed version (I prefer steamed though). What is even better than the dumplings is their gluten-free General Tsos chicken dish, omg to eat fried-chicken again! With sweet and spicy sauce all over! 😭🤤💞✨

Comment: I have celiac disease, and as a New Yorker, have been mourning my favorite Chinese-American dishes since I got my diagnosis. Lilli&Loo has a fully GF menu with all the classics! We tried the spare ribs, dumplings, lo mien, house special fried rice, and sesame chicken. They were all excellent (and I haven’t experienced any celiac symptoms, so they are actually doing it right!) And for the first time since I started having to eat GF, I didn’t feel like I had to settle for second best due to my food hypersensitivity. This is definitely first rate, delicious, Chinese food and I am so thankful it’s here!!!

Comment: Visited Lilli and Loos yesterday. My wife is coeliac so has to have GF. Chinese restaurants are really hard for coeliacs so finding a Chinese restaurant with an extensive GF menu was amazing. We shared a GF dumpling starter and then I had the spicy noodles with shrimp and my wife had a GF Kung Pao chicken. All absolutely delicious. Service was great too. An absolute gem if you are GF and miss Chinese food. So good we are going back again today.

I felt safe ordering things which is usually hard at a Chinese restaurant since soy sauce has wheat. They use a different soy sauce for people with allergies. I would definitely return!

Comment: This is my favorite restaurant in the city. Its where I take people for a great dinner. Its also where I took myself for my birthday. The food is delicious. Their gluten-free menu is extensive. And as many times as I have gone, everyone always loves everything they have gotten. This place is a must, gf or not. I strongly suggest the steamed gf dumplings, the gf rock shrimp tempura, the corn egg drop soup, and the tangerine beef. The ribs are great too. Those are my favorites.

Comment: Excellent service and amazing gluten-free options for those with food allergies! I tried the pom-teriyaki grilled chicken with veggies, my Celiac husband got General Tsos, and we shared the pan-fried potstickers. WOW, I didnt even know potstickers this soft and tender (but that actually stay together and dont fall apart) and flavorful were even possible gluten-free. They were beyond tasty, and Id recommend them to anyone! The only downside to this restaurant at all was that the tables were really tight and the music was a bit loud, plus the people next to us were so loud we couldnt have a conversation apart from them. I understand this is pretty normal as far as spacing goes in NYC, but we were visiting from out of state and werent prepared for the close quarters. Still, the food was worth it, and if we lived closer, wed be back. 🥟🥢

I love asian food, chinese especially and its difficult to enjoy and manage the gluten. I ordered steamed vegetables and shrimp with a spcy garlic sauce and brown rice. The sauce was brought out on the side. They had chocolate and carrot cake options for desert. BOTH gluten free. It was delicious. The entire experience!

Comment: I had gotten chicken and vegetables noodles soup. I felt there was too much noodles very little chicken and vegetables. I didn’t like the grilled chicken and the noodles but the broth came separately which I liked a lot. I had mixed the chicken, noodles and the broth together but didn’t like it so I just drank the broth. Overall it was ok but I felt the food was overpriced. I know we are living through inflation but I didn’t expect for chicken noodle soup to be eighteen dollar and change.

Comment: Nice restaurant with great gluten free options! Great food, so many options for gluten free, got food quickly. In the photos listed we got a starter salad and then i got the steamed vegetables with the ginger basil sauce and rice - it was very good! The sauce was not overpowering with ginger. This restaurant is on the smaller side so I would recommend making a reservation especially if you are dining during common dinner/lunch hours (call to make a reservation) and please use the address listed on the website! The address listed on google is the old address. However, both locations are only a 2 minute walk from each other if you mess it up.

Comment: We stopped in for a cold drink and an appetizer to share, we arrived shortly after 12 and the restaurantwas quiet. The gluten free menu was expansive offering most classics like fried dumplings, fried rice, sushi, sesame chicken etc. We have a great gluten free chinese spot near us, so we decided to try something that they dont offer. We tried the pan fried pork dumplings. It came with a tasty dipping sauce. The pork itself was great, but the dough on our dumplings was undercooked. Fried side wascooked fine but the opposing side was thick and chewy and was goo on the chopsticks. Sadly this is the only food item we tried. Many others have raved about this place but we probably would try somewhere else next time we are in the area.I had a Cosmo, taste was off but drink was strong and it was $10 so a deal in the city. Staff was nice and attentive.

Comment: Gluten free Chinese food is hard to find. They do it, and they do it with consistency and great care. Is it Insta-worthy, or interesting? No. But Lili and Loo an exceptionally safe choice, and if you’ve got gluten issues like I do, you know that that’s a huge compliment. They’ve NEVER made me sick, and I’ve been eating there for four years now.I stop in every time I’m in the neighborhood…. And if you’re as visibly trans as I am, you know that being up here is an exhausting clockfest, so I’m grateful to have this safe space.

Comment: Finally a decent Chinese restaurant! NYC has tons of places yet I couldnt seem to find one I liked. Places I grew up with on Long Island were SO GOOD and I could not find a place in the city to match that quality I was used to.But Lilli and Loo did it. Have ordered from here a couple of times and am always very satisfied. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Because Ive still had Chinese food thats been better than this. But no qualms with this place. Definitely give it a go.Prices are reasonable.

Comment: So we used to live in NYC.We moved to Denver CO 4 years ago. While we LOVE living in Denver it is nearly impossible to find good gluten free Chinese food.Whenever we come to the city with the family I take my daughter here. Today we traveled 1500 miles and all she wanted was LILYS. Her favorite is the pan fried dumplings and the general Tso chicken. The following is a review written by my 9 year old daughter Vivienne, Lilys was incredible and the service was amazing and most of all the gluten free food was like heaven on a plate 😍👍👍👍.

Comment: I come here every time Im in the city. You can get gluten free Chinese food that tastes every bit as delicious as the regular menu, with a wide range of options to choose from, and you wont get charged an arm and a leg for the privilege. Amazing! Excellent place for Celiac or gluten-intolerant diners! Comment: Hands down one of my favorite meals EVER (like, ever ever). I lived within Lilli and Loo’s delivery radius on the UES and have since moved away, but whenever I go back to NYC, it’s on the top of my to-do list. The black pepper tuna sushi roll (actually, all their sushi!) is amazing, and their gluten free Chinese food is out. Of. This. World.Lots of vegetarian options, too, and their WHOLE CHINESE FOOD MENU can be made gluten free. Some favorites include pan fried pork dumplings, chicken and broccoli, General Tso’s chicken, moo shu pork, and basically any of their appetizers. It’s small but they have about 10 tables, beer/wine/cocktail, delicious Thai iced coffee, an event space upstairs, and it’s really just so damn good. Stop at Baked By Melissa or Sprinkles Cupcakes for gluten free desserts afterwards!

Lilli & Loos staff has always been very knowledgeable about preventing cross contamination and Ive never gotten sick. Honestly, its the best tasting Asian food Ive had since going gluten free. This isnt a fancy pan Asian restaurant, but its not like a Panda Express either, something in between. Their wonton soup is great, though avoid the Scallion Pancakes (too greasy). Comment: Pleasantly surprised.Came here on a Friday night with a friend from work who cannot eat gluten. Can you believe that this place has two, FULL, 3-4 page menus; one gluten-free, one regular? Impressive! So many options for the Gluten-Free diet! There is a full bar on your left and seating area on your right when you walk in. There was live music on this particular night. A man playing the piano. It gives off a classy, relaxed, ambience but was totally casual. We were greated and seated immediately upon entering. After given the option, we ventured up to the second floor balcony seating where it was a less busy but you could still enjoy the soft melodies from the pianist below. The waitress was sweet. Not only did she double check but also verbally confirmed the food was gluten free when delivered to the table. I appreciate her accuracy. The food was delicious to say the least. It tasted better than I expected. Service was excellent. I really have no complaints.I cant wait to return for round two!
