Comment: Got the Tori ramen for myself and chicken bibimbap for my mother, as well as sides of edamame, kimchi, radish, and seaweed salad. Food arrived within five minutes and was absolutely delicious. The Tori ramen was amazing and the service was spectacular. Only thing that could have made it better was more greenery inside but that is a very personal opinion. Overall fantastic.

Comment: Visited Ithaca with my parents and my daughter for a day and planned to have dinner at Maru Ramen. We arrived after 6pm and got a table for four. Our order was taken immediately and the food arrived quickly. We started with hirata buns with pork, a steamed bun with perfectly tender slices of pork. This was followed with the beef dumplings, edamame, seaweed salad, and vegetable tempura (crispy and light shredded veggies). My stepfather got the avocado bibimbop, mom got the Hangover ramen (spicy broth with pork), daughter got the miso broth with pork, and I got the tonkotsu ramen. The noodles are fresh, pork sliced thin and tender, and the broths were perfect (not salty and flavorful) even on a sunny day.Clean place, wonderful quick service, delicious food and great selective beverage menu. Worth the visit.

Comment: Ive always wanted to try authentic Ramen (my experience before today was the bagged Maruchan). Went with my boyfriend, our 18-month-old son, and myself. I had the Bul-Go-Gi Ramen and a side of kimchi (also which Ive never had and Im glad I tried it cause it was really good) and my son had the Bul-Go-Gi BiBimBop. We ended up switching! My son loved the noodles. The Bul-Go-Gi was amazing. Im a picky noodle person, but the Ramen was still fantastic, but the purple rice was waaay better in my opinion.My boyfriend had the Tonkotsu and Ramune. It was his first time having authentic Ramen as well. He ate the whole bowl and is very adamant we go back again.The hostess and our waitress were also very friendly and patient with us! I was so worried my son was going to be a problem cause of how loud he can be and the mess he can make but he was very quiet and the hostess kept checking on us and telling us what an awesome baby he was being. She was also adamant not to worry about the mess and to enjoy this moment with our son. I highly recommend coming here!

The soups are so flavorful with an abundance of veggies and toppings. I have a cilantro allergy, so id recommend you examine the ingredient list if you have the same. Otherwise, the Pork Tonkatsu is phenomenal, which large servings and good rice and side salad. A great cheaper option than some of the other places in the area.

Comment: Ordered few things, only recommend the tantanmen (the dish is mild spicy).Avoid their appetizers: squid salad and shrimp tempura, I can buy better squid salad from Hmart, and the shrimp tempura really tastes the same as the frozen pack I bought from Costco, it is not a good product so I felt like I spent more money to have the same terrible food again… the same with the milk tea, $4! The octopus we had as an appetizer was delicious. As someone new to pho and ramen dishes I would probably choose a different entree next time, but thats based on my personal taste and not the quality of the food. Definitely worth checking out!

The place was buzzing with activity on Saturday afternoon but we were lucky to find a table for 4 without any wait.The food was top-notch - we tried the sushi rolls (shrimp tempura and veggie), the hirata buns (chicken and shiitake mushrooms), the ramen (Tantaramen and Veggie Shiitake), the Korean iced coffee, and a bottle of Ramune.Each of the dishes were really enjoyable and the Ramune and Iced coffee served as perfect complements to the meal. In addition, the service was extremely efficient. The place runs like clockwork!The.only thing that could have been improved was the Wasabi. It was extremely mild and lacked the kick that were used to. Nonetheless, Id love to be back if Im in town :)

Comment: Cute little place but packed when I walked in, with great food and kind staff! I am from Syracuse and wish we had ramen this tasty here. The broth was hearty and flavorful, I can practically taste how long they had it simmering for. Not to mention, they did not skimp out on the toppings either, I was very full by the end of my meal. My friend whom I was with is vegan and he had no problem finding things he could enjoy. Our waitress was very accommodating with that too, even noting that he should avoid the kimchi due to the inclusion of fish sauce. Definitely making this a stop the next time I’m in Ithaca!

First off, they have the best ramen Ive ever had and even though its a pretty small space I love the inside. They have very nice reusable chopsticks too. The sushi was so good and the presentation was a 10/10 ( it was made with purple rice). My friend loved the hangover ramen and the Korean iced coffee is so good. The service is very fast and all in all its great food and a great experience that is one of the best you can get.

Plain and simple youre going to get dished out an amazing bowl of Ramen with generous portions. Their appetizers and buns are pretty great as well!Im really glad I tried their bottled milk tea. I didnt think I would like it being it came in a bottle but it was a pleasant surprise!We had the Tantanmen and Tonkotsu Ramen this trip. The Tantanmen has a bit of peanut which somehow makes a sweet compliment to the spicy Tantan dashi in the broth. Theres also ground pork but it seems more like pork sausage with herbs and spices of its own which add to the delight.I only had a few tastes of the Tonkatsu but the bone broth was fantastic. Certainly a good choice especially if youre not a fan of spicy dishes.

First off, I was impressed with how well it was all packaged for delivery: soup broths were separate from the noodles, meat, and veg so that you add the broth yourself to the fresh ingredients. Tasted just how it would fresh from the kitchen at the restaurant. Ok, so the FLAVORS here...broths were so rich, savory & flavorful, perfect level of heat, lots of noodles and delicious unique flavors in the soup ingredients. The pork katsu is a show stopper! It’s so thin, crispy and topped with the best sauce. We were surprised by how well the cabbage slaw with sesame dressing paired with the pork and rice. We are addicted to this dish and might have to come back to town just for this!!

It would have gotten 5 stars if it were not for a few issues that could easily be changed. Their steamed pork buns have lettuce on them. Thats just weird and turns a perfectly cooked pork belly bun into a big Mac. The beef dumplings also lacked flavor and one was on the cold side. (Hopefully a fluke)The waiter was alittle on the rude side, but he didnt do anything that totally ruined the expierence. Overall I definitely recommend this place. Ive have a lot of ramen from a lot of different places in Ithaca, as well as in NYC, LA, and Sydney Australia, and I have to say that this is one of the best ramen places I have ever been to, and certainly the best in Ithaca. Everything on the menu is done extremely well and full of flavor! The eggs and pork belly are amazing, as well as the pork buns, and kimchi. I would also like to say that their octopus salad is incredible and fresh. They cook the ocotpus perfectly and it does not have that rubbery texture octopus gets when its been frozen or overcooked. I came here when they first opened, and back then I wasnt too impressed, but since then I really think they have refined their food and have improved significantly.

Clearly made with fresh homemade noodles, which worked perfectly with their robust and flavorful broth. Even the soft-boiled egg was well-seasoned. The broth is where the money is and this broth delivered. It was full of porky goodness and not overly rich. My wife ordered the Tori which is the shredded chicken in chicken broth. Personally I’m not a fan chicken broth, it’s a little overpowering, but the wifey enjoyed it so I’m happy. The chicken buns were delicious as well. The owner was very friendly and was very apologetic because we had a reservation, but he was unable to seat us because there was a wait out the door. It’s pretty decent for a small town ramen place.

Food is already made up with homemade broth and noodles and pork so the only thing left is assembly which was quick. The half a soy sauce egg in my ramen was definite from the fridge, the middle was cold, but the texture was nice anyway. Broth was rich without being too fatty which is a plus and the noodles had a great bite to them. I got a bowl of pork ramen and a pork bun and both were excellent. All of them were well portioned for its price - $12Tonkotsu ramen has a creamy rich soup base that with noodles that felt like they were freshly made. I would want a bit more noodles myself but it was delicious nonetheless. Comment: Nice, clean, comfortable decor. Small, cozy place. Got the miso ramen and pork buns. Pork buns well presented but a little bland. Ramen was filling, noodles had a nice bite and chew. Broth was tasty but didnt blow me away. I love ramen and will go back to try some other options.

Comment: Legit homemade ramen. The noodles are delicious, the broth is to die for, the dumplings are delicious, the pork buns are tasty, the matcha ice cream is homemade and delicious. You honestly cant go wrong. The wait staff is nice and friendly and the owner is super nice! Enjoy I insist!

Comment: I had mixed feelings about Maru Ramen. As far as ramen goes, Maru Ramen is just above average. I wouldnt say this is the best ramen Ive had, but for upstate New York, it is pretty decent. They nail the broth and the egg without question. But the noodles and pork are slightly underwhelming. However, this place has terrific customer service. My friend accidentally got the wrong type of noodles in his ramen, and the owner very kindly and quickly fixed the error. On top of that, that waiter and owner are very kind. The owner came by our table a couple of times to make sure we were enjoying the food.

Comment: Delicious pork buns, steamed dumplings, and ramen! We are looking forward to going back to try more. This weekend was especially hot, and Maru Ramen thoughtfully offered iced flavor pops to cool us down.Our server was attentive and very friendly, and we enjoyed people watching from the window.I would skip the green tea ice cream next time -- it came in a single serving plastic container, which detracted from the homemade experience.

Comment: Amazing homemade broth and homemade noodles - this is absolutely comfort food. Everything was super flavorful and satisfying. I got my ramen with pork, and the meat was perfect - really moist and flaked apart, seared just a little crispy on the outside. My only complaint is that I wish there had been more vegetables in the ramen, but the dish was so purposefully constructed Im sure this is a matter of personal preference. They also have chicken and veggie options. Actually, thats pretty much the whole menu, which is nice and simple: choose from pork, chicken or veggie broth ramen, and/or steamed buns (pork or shitake mushroom) and a few appetizers. Restaurants with a short simple menu are often the places that put a lot of work and care into each dish, and thats the case here. The prices were totally fair for such high quality food - it cost similar to what youd pay for a meal at Saigon Kitchen (Vietnamese; Pho) down the block, and it was a bit less expensive and less formal than eating at Maxies or The Rook. I went for lunch on the third day after Maru Ramen opened, and they were still working out a few kinks in the logistics for table service, but they made sure that the food was absolutely perfect. And, although they apologized a lot for some of the commotion among employees figuring out the logistics, honestly the service did not seem slow at all; I was in and out in 35 minutes I think. The restaurant was packed, and from what Ive been hearing from local foodies I hope this place will continue to be packed. Its really excellent ramen! I would recommend this as a destination for anyone.
