Their decor is brilliant with romantic ambiance.There were 6 courses ahead of sushi: Bluefin Tuna, Toro Tartar Toast, Crab with Gralic Butter, King Mushroom Salad, Kumamoto Oyster and Chawan-Mushi. It was an amazing start, my favorite was the oyster with sweet & fresh flavor and my husband loved the toast which combined all luxury ingredients like toro, caviar & gold.10 pieces of sushi, Wagyu Chirashi Sushi and Toro Handroll came after appetizers. They ran out of Uni that day which was a little sad but the chef’s fish selection was still great with proper seasoning.There is a lot of spots for omakase with average price of $100 recently in NYC but the quality is doubtful. Masaaki is definitely a great spot not only with reasonable price but also outstanding quality & freshness.

Comment: You’d be surprised how big and beautiful Masaaski in Bayside is from the outside. Open the doors and you will reveal a surprisingly state of the art design with friendly welcoming staffs. Don’t grab a seat yet. Take a tour of the venue so you can properly enjoy your experience here. There are plenty of tables with a sushi bar and an omakase table in the rear. They have three different kinds of omakase and two different sake pairing menus from $78 to $138 and $35 to $55 respectively. We sat down at the omakase table and chose the 19-course for $138 with the $55 sake pairing. Everything is fresh and tasty. We were so full we had to reject the handroll at the end. Finished the night off with crème brûlée to satisfy our sweet tooth. Stop by Masaaki in Bayside Queens without driving so far to the city for a wonderful treat.

I think the scallop bite was my favorite! Lots of truffle incorporated which I absolutely adore. We did the 19 course tasting menu.In addition, they have valet that I believe is comped, and Thursday through Saturday nights they have beer, wine, and sake, buy one get one free. Comment: I had my very first omasake experience and it was soooo 100% worth it! My cousins and I did the 15-course omasake and the food was out of this world! Service is incredible, we were def taken care of. Some of my favorites were the egg truffle soup, oyster with salmon roe, scallop with lime zest, seared king salmon with cheese, toro with caviar and gold flakes, and eel with foie gras. Honestly though every single piece was sooo tasty!! I’m honestly so impressed and cannot wait to come back!

The fish is higher quality than a typical sushi restaurant. 3 rolls for $18 or 9 pieces for $20 (tuna, salmon, or yellowtail). Lunch comes with a soup and small salad. We also enjoyed the gyoza. Very thin wrapper and crunchy. My wife enjoyed her sangria. They have a full bar and big selection.They also have an omakase. Obviously the price point is much higher. I may lean towards going for one in the city but I think this would be pretty good.

We wanted to try their Omakase since we’ve passed by it multiple times on Bell Blvd and finally wanted to try it out :-)5/5 stars for everything! The place has a beautiful aesthetic, very clean, modern and spacious. The food was impeccably made and delicious. Omakase is truly an art form and the chefs did a phenomenal job preparing and presenting everything. They deserve all the praise!My husband’s favorite stand-outs from the 19-course Omakase were the Miso Cod and Abalone, as well as the Wagyu!We definitely plan to come back! The toro scallion roll is fresh, delicious and good-valued as they give you a decent chunk of toro, but we are slightly disappointed by their sushi deluxe which has 10 pieces of nigiris (5 kinds total) and 4 pieces of california maki, theres no better pieces, like unagi/ikura/raw shrimp, I would expect 1 or 2 pieces of higher priced piece. Over time though they seem to have made a lot of big improvements and I’m happy to say I dig them.The menu has some excellent variety and the prices are reasonable for the area. My one gripe though is that the sushi/sashimi is never as chilled as it should be… or maybe it just becomes room temp more quickly than other nice places. My guess is because they use plastic serving platters instead of chilled stone/ceramic.Anyway, this is a full update of my previous review. As soon as I stepped in, I was taken aback by the beautiful hand-painted artwork that covered the walls. I have tried both their Omakase and their regular menu items (+delicious drinks).Their Omakase experience felt like a rollercoaster of flavors and textures that left me in awe. I was served a 15-course meal right in front of me, expertly crafted by their Omakase chef (who I heard actually went to culinary school in Japan). Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and exploding with flavor. The fish was incredibly fresh, some of the best I have ever tried (and that says a LOT). They have limited reservations available for Omakase, but this one-of-a-kind experience is definitely worth the splurge.I couldn’t help myself and went back to try out their regular menu, and was delighted to find that it is just as impressive! Everything was cooked and flavored to perfection, plus their portions are generous. The Fire Island Roll, the Rock Shrimp Tempura, and the Lobster Soup/Bisque are MUST-TRIES!Mouth-watering as I type. 🤤 I am definitely a regular here now.

Comment: Masaaki is a fairly new addition to the Bayside community. Ive been here once for lunch and once for dinner and both experiences have been great. This location used to be an Italian restaurant and they renovated it so nicely that you cant even tell what it was prior. What makes this place different from other Japanese restaurants in the area is that they also offer an omakase experience. I havent tried it myself, but its definitely something I want to try one day. Coincidentally, I had the same waiter, Ken, both times and he was very helpful and attentive.The first time I went was during lunch and it was for their lunch specials, which is pretty worth it in my opinion. The most worth it to me is the 10 pc Sashimi Lunch for $17, meanwhile an 18 piece for dinner is $36. Of course, you wouldnt get the same cuts of fish, but still a good deal.The second time I went was for a dinner and for a party of 7, they sat us in the omakase room in a section that was closed off. I really liked that because it was very secluded. Their tempura appetizer was presented so beautifully and it was fried nicely. Their sashimi deluxe was also presented nicely and they gave a good variety of raw fish to try. Our party tried a bunch of rolls and all of them were delicious. Finally, they have a Eel Kama Meshi Rice dish that is good to share. If youre not a fan of eel, they offer other protein options as well.There wasnt a dish I didnt enjoy and everything was so fresh. The prices arent bad and I would definitely recommend visiting.

Watching the dishes prepared in front of you shows how much care and thought went into the dish. Little details matter even the chef noticed my girlfriend is left handed and served accordingly, truly sharp eyes. The omakase bar is located at the back of the restaurant and provides a private and relatively quiet area. Best be on time or a little early for the seating as the omakase experience starts on time. Service staff was also great at keeping the table cleaned and hot green tea topped up. A must visit for anyone who misses Japanese omakase or would rather not travel to the city.

They also offer lunch special during the week.Toro tartare is a must have, toro is very flavorful and with caviar topping. Yuzu sauce is perfectly balanced not over powering. Also highly recommend the Masaaki roll, the torched toro on top is so delicious. Fire island roll is also a great special roll. I also shared the sushi and sashimi for two combo. It comes in two sets of five different nigiri. A rainbow roll and 5 different sashimi each comes in four pieces thick cut fish. Very big portion for two. The fish are very fresh. Definitely filling for two person.The space is cute and large. I saw them sanitize the tables, very clean. They also offer Omakase at $88 for 15 courses. Thats pretty good price. The food was delicious and the ambiance and decor in the restaurant are wonderful.We started with miso soup (delicious), then had a couple of sushi rolls (one a tuna specialty roll and one a hamachi roll), as well as Jalapeño Hamachi Sashimi, and shrimp and vegetable tempura. All were excellent!The Omakase room in the back looks very cool. May give that a try in the future.Highly recommend.

Comment: Got to try this new restaurant in Bayside and had a great experience! It was really big and I loved the ambiance. They have a wide selection of items from sashimi to nigiri and specialty rolls. I really appreciate how many different types of sashimi they had. And even if you’re not a seafood fan, they also have warm entrees and appetizers! Some of my favorite items were the udon which was very flavorful. The pumpkin soup with lobster was very rich and just the right amount of sweetness. All the sashimi was fresh and my favorite roll was the bell roll loved that it had a little bit of a kick. I also recommend the lobster ball and the shishito peppers as appetizers! The service was also super friendly and I definitely recommend anyone to try this place out!
