The drinks were delicious and so were the appetizers, The entrees we ordered were made fresh and very delicious. I had a chilli chicken ramen bowl and it was very filling and well worth it. Broths are very one-tone and overly salty, noodles can be a bit overcooked, and they dont have a chashu ramen.Their sushi on the other hand, is excellent. We tried the eel combo box and it was probably some of the best eel Ive had in NYC. They give giant pieces, no tiny pieces of bone, and a delicious eel sauce. Also definitely recommend the tuna tartare. The tuna is flavorful, the chip holds its structure even after 10 minutes, and gives a nice crisp to the dish.On a completely different note, there is a gorgeous terrarium behind the bathroom, there is 1 sided glass on both sides of it, so you can see it from both the mens and womans bathroom, really cool.

Comment: After visiting the Met I had lunch at Meijin Ramen (a 10 min walk from the museum). Ordered the Washu Beef Ramen and a lychee juice. The ramen was good, in fact it was just a little shy of being amazing, making it kinda disappointing. The broth was by far the strongest point, pure umami, almost creamy. The noodles were good but nothing out of this world, and the washu roast beef cuts might as well have not been there (they were rather bland, almost tasteless). I expected way more from the priciest ramen dish on the menu of a ramen place. Still, the rest of the menu looks awesome, theres a good chance Ill be back.EDIT: came back to here for lunch, before visiting the Neue Galerie. Had the soft shell crab buns and the bento lunch special with unagi, and both were delicious. Also, the lunch special has a really good price for the amount of food you get.

The place was packed to the brim with a line outside but the hostess had a superior way of service, ensuring we were able to get a table within 5 minutes. In the past, she even pushed tables together outside, making anything work to allow us to get a seat and taste their delicious ramen.I got the Shio Ramen. It was a chicken broth with corn, bean sprouts and braised pork. Within 5 minutes of placing an order, the bowls were at our table steaming and tantalizing. The broth was incredible and the egg was soft boiled just like it should be. The texture of the ramen was just right, not too soft and not too firm and the braised pork was tender enough. I would have liked to have bit more soy flavor to the pork but overall everything was thoroughly enjoyable.

Comment: Top 10 ramens I’ve ever had! Came at 7:30pm on a Saturday for dinner and still was able to be seated right away (2ppl). The Japanese fried chicken for appetizer was SO. GOOD. - crispy, flavorful, everything you could want. And the ramen, of course, was to die for. Spicy Tonkotsu actually had a great level of spice (normally I have to add chili oil to make it spicy enough) and the pork itself in the soup was juicy and delish. Highly recommend!

I was surprised to see it on the menu, as its uncommon to see at Japanese restaurants. The sandwich was very good: not too heavy, but did get a bit messy towards the end due to the sauces which is to be expected. My favorites here are the miso ramen and the chicken curry rice. The happy hour deals here on weekdays are also amazing. I love the ambiance and environment here as well. The best part of Meijin is the people that work here especially the bartender, Achida. She is the best and will do her absolute best to make your experience here wonderful. I generally don’t do “spicy” but since it was their best seller, I thought I give it a try. There are two sides of the broths. The left half has a very spicy kick to it but I can taste the creaminess. Prepare to have the pores opened and runny nose. The right half is rich in black garlic and the spice is subtle.Cha shu - 5/5. Pulled fatty pork. It absorbs the broth really well.Noodle - 5/5. wavy noodles that has that perfect firm texture while absorbing the broth so well I just… *makes sexy moaning noises while a jazzy background music plays*This is what I meant previously about the “perfect harmonious balance” in ramen. No part can be better or stronger than the other. The broth may be spicy but it’s not too salty. Both cha shu and noodles absorbs it well, enticing my appetite with each bite. If I could handle spice better, I would’ve finished every drop of the broth. Also, for the record, I’m not a soup person so when I finish a ramen broth, that speaks loud in volume of the chef’s recipe and skills.Side notes: The egg in the ramen is super creamy in the yolk and super concentrated in soy sauce!Other side notes:Tuna Tartare - 5/5. A MUST TRY. I can see why it’s one of their best sellers and highly recommended on the menu.Pork Bun - 3/5. Thinner more than I normally like for it to be but I was able to taste the fatty texture among the other garnishes and sauces. Thick bun though.Karaage - 1/5. It was a bit underwhelming and a bit dried but their ramen and other appetizers outshine this dish. I would stick with the tuna tartare and ramen. That being said, I still make my karaage better.

Comment: First dine-in ramen of the season and it did not disappoint! The Spicy Miso came with pork on top and an egg. The egg wasn’t flavorless but it didn’t pop but texture was great! The pork was like when you have bacon and you split it down the middle and then just cut one side vs crumbles. It wasnt fatty or chewy; perfectly tender!The service was great and the outdoor seating was plentiful on a chilly Wednesday night.

Comment: Great prompt service. Indoor and outdoor seating. Nice ambience. I had a Saporro on tap. Limited beer selection. We also had hot sake. We had edimame to start which were good. We also had gyoza which were pan fried and delicious as well as oysters. I had spicy Ramen with pork. We also had the Chilli chicken Ramen. Great! Arugala salad was delicious. It was an awesome little spot. Great experience!

Comment: This place is simply delicious. The ramen isnt different from traditional ramen, but what sets it apart is how everything In the ramen is so fresh and good. I also like the sake they have it goes well with my beer and ramen. I would give this place a try, its very filling without being heavy, and you can tell everything is prepared fresh.

Comment: Super delicious ramen! I had the chilli chicken Ramen and my sister had the special which was a barbecue spareribs (I believe) ramen. Plenty of vegetarian options as well which is nice! Chewy fresh noodles and well-balanced spice. Cocktails were nice, though a tad pricy. The gyoza were tasty as well! Quick and friendly service.

Comment: Friendly service and decent range of menu options. We got the Japanese fried chicken, pork gyoza and spicy shredded pork tonkatsu ramen. The fried chicken was delicious, great portion and tender juicy meat, while the gyoza was not the traditional gyoza I’ve had. The meat stuffing was a little loose in texture and mixed with chives or some sort of scallion, so something about it was not as appetizing.The spicy ramen was not as spicy as I hoped for and the pork, while large in portion, was not as tender as it could’ve been (not the kind that melts in your mouth) possibly due to the cut of the meat that is different or the way they slice it.The interior vibe is very nice though, clean and spacious seating and connected with the sake bar.

Don’t afraid to ask your server for recommendations because they know it the best. The food came out pretty fast and steaming hot. The appetizers were the best part of this visit. The crispy rice tuna was my favorite, highly recommended. I had Tonkutsu ramen which is so rich and well-balanced flavor. The broth was fragrant and went so well with the toppings...I love it a lot. I’ll definitely be back when I visit New York next time.

Its almost leaning towards roast beef flavor profile but with Japanese flavor accents. I feel that a good ramen doesnt need to be busy with a ton of ingredients. My ramen had thinly sliced beef, corn, eggs, scallions, bean sprouts & arugula. I highly recommend going here for an easy and simple yet delicious ramen.The decor and atmosphere is nice. Small. I dont think large parties (6+) would fit here. The staff is nice. I also recommend the yuzu lemonade.

Comment: Love this place for all their food. For appetizers, I would suggest the tuna tartare and takoyaki. I love their pork katsu curry. My friends got the ramen and they also liked what they got. The baos were just ok, I didnt think they were worth it for the price you pay, but theres plenty of other great food to eat. The place is cozy and hip, best for groups of 4 or less. For cocktails, I suggest the hana nami (lychee flavored drink).

Comment: This place is incredible. The food is so tasty and flavorful - it’s a real treat! Service is friendly and attentive as well. I had the Shio Ramen with pork (the meat was so juicy!) and my boyfriend had the Washu beef ramen - it was insanely delicious. This is my new favorite ramen spot in the city by far. We have gone twice and it was incredible both times. We’ll be back for sure.

Comment: One of the best ramen places in the upper east side. The fried chicken appetizer was delicious, juicy, tender and crispy and I would highly recommend it. Went in when they were having happy hour on a s unday evening (5pm -10pm I believe), cocktails were $7.00 (normally $14.00) and they were very good! The Ramen is delicious and very well priced.

Comment: I’m from Singapore and I’ve had a lot of good authentic ramen from chefs who have come from japan and have just been doing that all their life, and lemme tell you that this is the perfect mix of authentic and something special.I missed the typical flavour profile of a good ramen so much and the thick broth and this place delivered and had something else that I just couldn’t place a finger on, which just makes me want to come back for more.Also, it’s not like a classical ramen place, it’s literally a ramen bar, with a bunch of crazy unique cocktails I’ve not seen anywhere else and boy do they taste good. My girlfriend and I tried the Collin San and Tokyo Mule and we both really enjoyed it!The minimalist architecture and the chill vibes really make for a perfect laid-back night out with a whatever company.

Comment: I live nearby and decided to go inside after reading the positive reviews. Although I went into the annex incidentally and sat at the bar just for eating ramen, but the bartender was really nice and friendly serving me the ramen. I also found out that they has a good variety of sake and Cocktails based on sake! I will definitely wanna try one next time if I am not going alone. I had spicy miso ramen, which was very good, and the soup was great, not too thick as I once had in midtown. It was just as good as what I had when I was in Japan.
