Comment: Im a sushi snob and I have to admit Mikado is great. Theres no better Japanese restaurant in BK Heights, Cobble Hill or Carroll Gardens.

Comment: Selfish enough to want to keep this place to myself, selfless enough to come on here and let you know about it. Truly incredible new gem in Brooklyn. Rivals Nobu. Yeah, I said it. Come for the crispy bites, stay for the miso cod, order a few rolls for the table- your friends will love you. Such a great vibe, lovely staff. Couldn’t have had a better time! See for yourself. This place is the real deal.

Comment: What an amazing place. The food is incredible and at great prices. Service and décor are awesome too. The lunch specials are a really good deal… when ordering on seamless they deliver your sushi in these really cute cardboard boxes too. Its mainly just sushi but they have some other options as well like teriyaki and black cod. The sake selection is pretty impressive as well with a lot of carafe/300mL options on the menu perfect for sharing with 2 people. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Only downside for families is that theres no changing table in the restrooms (theres 2 of them). I really liked the o-toro + uni appetizer, thought it was a good deal, you get 4 tuna pieces and 4 uni pieces. Doesnt come with rice but it does come with a nice slightly sweetened soy sauce on the plate (see photos).

Comment: I went to Mikado with my mother-in-law and we both loved it. The service was excellent — they were attentive, friendly, and helpful. They brought us hot water in place of cold water without fuss. My favorite dish was the karaage, a must for New Year’s Eve. The hand-rolls come in servings of 4 pieces, perfect for sharing with a small group. I will definitely come back and dine-in, though take-out seems really popular here too.

Comment: We randomly found this place while visiting Brooklyn and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. We ended up having delicious sake with unique sushi creations. The tuna tart was decadent as an appetizer with the taco sushi, then we took rolls that were truly fresh and well balanced in flavours. We ended up taking with the owner for an hour as he shared with us his background from Japan and gave us so many tips and recommendations for our upcoming trip to Japan. The overall experience was memorable. We will definitely be back!

We love their humble decor and tableware in Japanese style.We got Karaage, Braised Beef Short Ribs & Miso Black Cod to share and Teriyaki Chicken Lunch Set for our daughter. The lunch set came with Miso Soup and handroll which was a really good deal.Their Miso Black Cod looked impressively beautiful with small portion but great taste. The skin was crispy and the texture of the meat was soft.Their Braised Beef short Ribs were impressively delicious. The meat was extremely soft and easily off the bone. We also loved the flavorful and appetizing sauce so much.

Comment: I went to Mikado with friends for dinner with a craving for Japanese food and Mikado did not disappoint! We ordered so much food that we almost did not finish bc we were so full. We ordered a variety of dishes including hand rolls which were generous portions and my fave were the toro and scallop ones yum! We also ordered nigiri sushi and their starters selection was pretty impressive as well. My fave starters were the sushi taco and tuna tarts. If you’re looking for a spot with yummy Japanese food and shareable portions and pretty decor, Mikado is a great option. I’m salivating now and can’t wait to go back again!

Comment: I love everything about the restaurant. The food was fresh and the quality of the drinks, atmosphere was wonderful. The menus do need to be updated, so be mindful of that as they are still getting on their feet yet I recommend it to others. I’d definitely come back.
