Comment: Mikaku Sushi is one of the best sushi places I have found in Manhattan and I have tried so many. I had their bento box for $13 and tried two nigiri for $4/piece. The yellowtail was amazing! The salmon in the bento box was incredible too. I would skip the miso soup.The server is awesome too handling the small restaurant and many customers!I love sugarfish and kazunori but their lines are long and quality ranges. Mikaku delivers at that level of quality without crazy lines. Loved here more than Momoya too.Mikaku is a great & fresh sushi place for those trying to find their lunch/dinner spot!!!

Comment: Order from here all the time on Seamless/Grub Hub. 9 times out of 10 the food is super fresh.It is always tasty. Rolls, soup, salad, fried shrimp, shumai are our favorites. Their fees on Seamless have gone up and are too high which only incentivizes people to tip the drivers less. I would rate 4.5 for that reason. They should consider this as the fees creep up over time. I may find someplace else if the fees increase.

Comment: Went here for my birthday and enjoyed my experience at this restaurant! Started off with some sake and miso soup, which tasted exactly how they should. Then I decided to get the Natto Ika, it was something new, and it was alright. Not a fan of natto but thats just personal preference, since it has a strong fermented alcohol taste. The chicken udon and sashimi were delicious though. The wait staff checked for vaccination and ID, and they were very attentive to us.

Generous amount of Unagi for the price point. The sushi was fresh. Chicken katsu was fried perfectly. Can never go wrong with dumplings either. The salmon from the salmon lunch set was a bit dry and flavorless however. They have a good range of options in the menu as well. It’s a little small inside so take-out would be a good options from this place as well. Overall good experience.

But slowly, over time, his beloved streets became overrun with hipsters, fashionistas, and Instagram influencers. He watched from his 12th story window as his favorite lunch spots closed down and were replaced by coffee shops filled with men in Yeezys and women in SUPREME hats. The king was terrified to go outside, but felt an insufferable craving for… something delicious.Finally he mustered up the courage to go outside. Blinded but the flashes of street photographers and the blinking lights of a pop-up shop, he almost lost his way! But finally, he stumbled into a humble little Japanese restaurant on Kenmare street… Mikaku Sushi! Just ever so slightly not 100% authentic Japanese, I say that meaning the flavor of the rolls is just slightly different from most sushi places, but not in a bad way (or good either). Comment: No frill, basic Japanese-style eatery. Those expecting some new fad/fusion/weirdo playing with foreign meals to their whim should look elsewhere. Atmosphere wise, this resembles closer to Chinese takeout, but with cheap price as well.Menu are your sushi, katsu, yaki, udon/soba with some sake if thats what youd like your meal with. Miso soup is unremarkable but thankfully not salty. Tonkatsu was well done with nicely crispy panko crust to it. Sushi is alright, no better or worse.Staff was fairly attentive. Only demerit is smell upon entrance. It doesnt smell quite right. Not something rotten smell, but slightly off putting.

Comment: I was craving for sushi so I decided to go to Mikaku. Their restaurant is small and not a lot of space. I thought the salmon teriyaki dish was great. . Service was ok, but keep in mind that their phone calls are non stop so you may have to wait to order food. Not the best place to use the bathroom. Their bathroom is near the kitchen and it is a really small area.FYI - you have to spend $10 in order to use your credit card. So if it is less then you must bring cash.
