Comment: Genuinely enjoyed this small spot for ramen. I got the minca ramen and spicy miso ramen; didn’t try the latter but the minca ramen had a great garlic scent and flavor to the broth, and the veggies and noodles complemented it well. I wouldn’t say portions are huge, especially if you’re as hungry as I was, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! The portions are fair for the price, which is about average for a bowl of ramen.

Comment: I got spicy basic pork broth and spicy miso ramen. The pork is amazing, really great flavor and richness! Also really enjoyed their noodles, nice texture not soft even after sitting in the bowl for a while. Miso broth was good, but flavor a bit too strong for me to have a whole bowl of it. Cash only!

Comment: Minca will ALWAYS be my go to ramen spot. I love the people who work there and the ramen is truly amazing for a great price. The ramen has so much flavor and every time I have tried a different ramen spot it just doesnt compare. I have been going to Minca for at least 5 years. Highly recommend this East Village secret.

Comment: The waiter was very friendly and very accommodating to one of my friends dietary restrictions. I took her recommendation of the regular spicy ramen and it did not disappoint. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the broth was very flavorful, rich and fatty but not too salty. The chashu was done very well and melted in my mouth effortlessly. The gyoza were below average and seemed like an afterthought so I would just go for the ramen/toppings. Will definitely come back to try their other ramen 🍜.

Comment: Good ramen at a cash-only establishment in East Village. Definitely satisfies the ramen craving but was a little disappointed after reading several reviews saying it’s the best ramen in Manhattan. Yummy but felt it needed more umami. The meat was tender. I loved the hole in the wall vibe it has

Comment: Fresh off 1 hour on the treadmill at 10.5 incline and 3.3 speed to sweat out the sins of the night prior, I found myself craving ramen. I wiped the sweat from my dark brown eyes that are slightly too big for my face and remembered how someone commented on a TikTok I made about Momofuku, saying Minca was the better ramen choice in EV.I showered off, tucked my adidas sweats into my Nike socks, slipped on the all-black hokas and set off on the 0.4-mile journey.I missed it on my initial walk by as it is extremely ducked-off. Lowkey as the kids would say. With about 14 seats, an open kitchen based on necessity and the workers all speaking Japanese amongst themselves, Minca is about as authentic as a ramen place can get.It brought me straight back to wandering down a random street in Shibuya, seeing impeccably dressed Japanese residents enjoying their bowl of ramen at the tiny little ramen restaurant scrolling their WhatsApp.I ordered the seaweed salad and the Spicy Miso Ramen. I always say that you can tell how good a Japanese restaurant is by how good their seaweed salad is. Okay I’ve never said that but this seaweed salad was really damn good. The ramen broth was flavor blasted without being too salty or too heavy, and the noodles had the perfect texture that would leave a smile on even Ivan Orkin’s face. Honestly, it was a big mf bowl too and I think two normal humans could split this and still walk away content. I, however, happen to be a big dawg.My #1 ranked ramen in EV as of now. Also, I love the name of this place. MincaMinca! Sounds like a cute pokemon hahahahaahaha.

Comment: I ordered their tonkotsu ramen (pork bone broth). overall the dish was pretty authentic and tasty to eat. the broth was rich and filling, although i typically prefer slightly more “pork flavor” in the broth. the noodles they used were thick and had a good texture (i prefer it slightly more al dente/harder than how they cook it). the chashu was very savory and tasty though slightly on the drier side. all in all i’d still highly recommend swinging by and giving them a try if you’re nearby!

Comment: One of the best ramen Ive had. The broth has so many flavors in it. Definitely worth returning and trying all the ramen on the menu. The signature minca broth is pork and chicken which has the most flavour in it. The pork broth is hearty and rich. The spicy miso tsukemen broth is nutty and kind of milky which is rich and really special. The chasiu for tsukemen is torched, which tastes really good. The toroniku chasiu has a herbal and ginger tint to it.If you like chewy noodles, try tsukemen with cold noodles and it comes with warm broth.

Comment: Japanese Ramen on East 5th in the East Village. The good:- Rich and fantastic tonkatsu broth (pork)- the pork belly is equally as tender and rich- the noodles cooked to a perfect consistency- delicious flavors- fairly pricedThe not so good:- no longer indoor seating I surmise due to the covid issues, so only outdoor enclosure seating, I happened to go on a 20 degree day so it was quite cold even though they have heaters.- due to this, i wont be going back till the weather warms up again.Summary: the authentic flavors of this ramen joint is up there with Ippudo, hide-chan, and most of your top ramen spots.

Comment: It was on my 2nd visit that I realized how much I missed this place. It was cold out and I was grateful for the hot tea and frequent refills. I ordered the Minca Shoyu (soy sauce) and it was just delicous. The noodles are made in-house cooked al dente and served with lean cuts of pork so the soup isnt greasy and youre not just eating fat like in other places. I usually cant finish my ramen bowl but that day, I did. And Ill be back soon.

Comment: I double parked in front of this place and placed an order to go in person. I was taken by surprise its cash only but luckily I had cash.I placed my order and the lady was very nice and friendly. She was the only one working serving tables. While waiting she offered me water or tea! OK who does this to people placing take out orders?I sat in my car as I waited for my order and she was amazing enough to bring it to my window. Very sweet, never has this happened to me in Manhattan. I live here and I drive every day and no one has ever offered to bring it car side so I dont get a ticket. The ramen was hot when I got home, no need to reheat. I poured the broth in the bowl(I should have taken a picture before) and the broth smells amazing!Very delicious ramen, thin noodles which I love. Pork was a little fatty but its pork, when is it not fatty.I will absolutely come here again for take out or if opportunity allows to dine in.

Its covered in fresh cabbage. Dont know why to be honest but the cool crunchy contrast to the hot broth is great. The big winner is the huge hunk of fatty pork that tastes like fattest tastiest bacon and pork you could imagine.Jaw dropping rich and tasty in a humble atmosphere on a quiet block in the heart of Lower East Side. Comment: I miss Kambi and their lunch specials (maybe Minca will have them one day? Please). Until then, the noodles are still top notch. Ive yet to be able to find a ramen place that matches the perfectly cooked noodles and good soup base and fresh toppings at a similar price point or higher price point. It remains my go to ramen place, but sadly a bit out of the way. Keep in mind cash only.

Comment: A really cute, small ramen shop. This is what I imagine your grandparents would make for you, if your grandparents had the time to spend brewing ramen broth. It’s pretty different from the more polished ramen chains in the city, like Ippudo, or Totto, even if most of the components are the same. The soup was rich, and the noodles were chewy, definitely on the toothier side. The meat was good, too. They definitely didn’t skimp on the veggie add-ins, too. If you want a nice, homey bowl of ramen, this is a good choice.

Comment: A small cozy store with all kinds of graffiti on the walls, but the quality of the noodle was remarkable. The full-body broth was rich and creamy. You could taste its miso, peanut sauce, sesame oil and other nice ingredients in the soup base. If you like their taikon salad with sesame and peanut sauce on top of it, you wouldnt be disappointed. It was crispy and refreshing. However, if youre allergic to any of those two sauces please let the waitstaff know beforehand. Their gyoza was not surprising though. The price was ok for the downtown location, and the wait was not crazy (depending on what time you show up).

Comment: We are on a ramen kick but tripped over this small ramen shop by chance as we were walking through the East Village. I had the Minca Ramen and my husband ordered the spicy miso ramen. Both were very good. I do like my ramen spicy and the waitress brought over their homemade chili sauce which added a nice level of punch. We also had the radish salad and pork gyoza which we enjoyed as well as the Japanese beer (Orion). The place was packed when we arrived at a little before 8 on a Saturday night in the summer but by the time we left, we wrre the only ones there. I’m sure they will get another rush as they are open at 12 or -1:30, i believe.

Comment: The best pork broth ramen you’ll ever have in NYC. I am a regular so of course I’ve tried everything on the menu. My favorite is the toroniku fatty pork belly with the Tokyo noodle. This combo is the best. Chewy noodles silky pork. However, everything on the menu is delicious. Even the simple bean sprouts or the very tasty shrimp dumplings. You can go wrong.Plus the service is A+ so that makes this place great! This is a neighborhood spot so don’t blow it up!Regulars like me still need to sneak in. The lines are long enough already.

Comment: Once in a while, friends let you know of a place that you need to check out. Friend who have a good idea of what you like; friend who care. Well let me tell you about this place. My dearest friend Leighann F. had been telling me about this place for a few years now, knowing how much I care for good ramen. She had told me that it blows everything out of the water. Well... she... was... right.I was in NYC for a day and debated where to go for lunch with the girlfriend. I had so many bookmarks on Yelp of places to check out... But decided to check this place off. I called up Leighann and after meeting on 42nd and Lex, we hopped into a cab and headed to Minca. All three of us arrived in the East Village area minutes later, hoped out and proceeded to walk right in. We were immediately seated in a corner, on a somewhat narrow table. Actually it was narrow to a point where I wondered how our bowls were going to fit adjacent to one another - it somehow worked out.The smells emanating from the kitchen were delightful and while the place didnt look like much from the outside, the inside was small, clean and welcoming. I cannot even begin to describe the feeling of being able to sit at a place that youve been dying to check out for a few years. It feels awesome. I was so excited, I didnt even know where to begin when it came to the menu that was handed to me.Eventually, we were able to figure things out after a few minutes of hesitating and conversing. We got 3 diet cokes, an order of pork gyoza ($5.25) to share and I settled for the Minca Sio ($10.50) which has salt & roast garlic flavors featuring both pork and chicken broths. This place also lets you chose from three types of noodles: wavy, thin and thick. I got the wavy ones. Our cokes arrived, our gyoza as well and all was well. We ate away at the delicious, juicy and well-seasoned and grilled gyoza that lay in front of us (the order was large enough for us to have 2 pieces each which was a perfect way to start off our meal). And then came the star of the show: the bowl of ramen.I must say that one of my biggest pet peeves is when a bowl of ramen arrives way too hot. This one was perfect. It was hot but far from scalding hot and I dug right in. The noodles were amazing as were the pork slices in there. They were fatty, juicy and very flavorful. The scallions, the sliced mushrooms and various other components all worked together and the flavors melded. It was a religious experience. From the moments the bowls arrived, everyone stopped talking. All you could really hear was slurping noises along with grunts and hums of satisfaction. It was an incredible sight. The salt and garlic broth wasnt too garlicky but oh so delicious; it had a richness that only hours of steeping and simmering can create. Just amazing depth of flavor right thereThe level of customization that this place enables, letting you pick from various broths and noodles, along with the actual execution of the dishes.... its just incredible. Better than anything I had in Tokyo while there for a few days. The service is friendly and efficient, and best of all, the place is clean and very affordable. It is by far one of the cheapest and most satisfying meals that I can think of in NYC.

Comment: I love this place. The have many ramen options and will accommodate your dietary preferences in any way. I like the selection of veggies you can put on order and their pork is delicious. What’s more, is the staff. The woman who takes orders is so friendly and so sweet. I was feeling sick this morning and unfortunately couldn’t eat my ramen. I asked for it to be packed up and she brought me ginger to go, on her own! She told me it would be good for my throat and will hopefully make me feel better. I wanted to give her a hug, it was truly a great gesture. Thank you!

Comment: Minca is my favorite spot in the city for ramen! Their choices of noodles and soup bases do not disappoint. My two personal favorites are the minca sio and the tsukemen (dipping ramen). The minca sio broth is delicious. Its a chicken broth with some garlic oil on it. Makes you want to drink the whole thing. The tsukemen is a interesting way to eat ramen. The thick chewy noodles are great with the hearty concentrated broth and it will fill you right up.

Comment: FIRST OFF: thank you, blessed, unnamed waitress for being the best person ever. Minca is a smol babby, meaning theres not a lot of space for people to sit. You will have to wait for a few minutes, even longer if your full party has yet to arrive. Our waitress made sure we were still acknowledged even when our final party member had yet to arrive. NYC can be brutal, so people sometimes forget about you if your party isnt ready when the space opens up. When our party was ready, we were seated promptly.SECOND, ON: The food was DELICIOUS. Handmade shrimp dumplings. My ramen was good, but the shrimp sold me. I wish I loved near this place. Or in it. Either way, Minca is great and I will be back.

The tight space, the chefs making magic happen right in front of you, cash only and no reservation, the kind of place Bourdain would have loved- every bit of this is no frills authentic. Comment: In my opinion, probably the best ramen place in NYC if you are a fan of thick, fatty tonkotsu broth ramen. Also, the broth is not salty and taste perfect! Also, their chashu is pretty good as well. Very reasonable price at this place.Only downside, is that their egg is overcooked- more like a boiled egg. The yolk is fully cooked and not gooey like how most of us would like it. At least the egg has taste and seems like it was marinated. Service was friendly and fast. This place is pretty tiny and not roomy so just eat and go.

My friends all liked the one I got which was the basic pork broth better than their own. Its super flavorful and the noodles are cooked perfectly. Comment: Hands down the BEST ramen Ive had in NYC. Their toroniku ramen broth is thick (not too thick, just right) the pork flavor is infused in the broth, the pork belly is so tender, falls right off the chopsticks. Its savory, its warm, its homey. My favorite ramen place in the city.I urge you to go, sit down, enjoy the view of them preparing ramen right at the high top table counter, and slowly take in the ramen broth. Savor it with your eyes close and imagine the flavors as you swallow it. Take your soup spoon and make a mini ramen in ti and take each ingredient in and just slowly let it do its work. Comment: Great ramen. The broth, the noodles, and the tender pork belly. Of the places Ive been to, their menu is the most reasonable (for Manhattan) and also the most delicious. The broths consistency was heavy enough to stick well with the noodles. The flavor was tasty and not too overwhelming. I drank the soup all the way through. The pork belly was tender and melted in your mouth. It wasnt all fat either. The shrimp gyoza are also amazing. They are not gimmicky; they dont shout greetings in broken Japanese as you enter the door (to give you that authentic vibe). They are authentic and they show it through their ramen. They are also very hospitable and generous. They didnt charge me for swapping out an ingredient. A lot of places Ive been to tend to charge you or completely deny you for swapping a simple ingredient for another one. In fact, all I asked was to NOT have scallions in my order, and instead the waitress simply offered a generous substitute. How about that? Its amazing how subtle yet powerful a gesture like that is when it comes to food service. I still would have enjoyed this place for the ramen alone. It makes for a fun, casual date spot. I would also have no problem coming here completely solo. After all, I just want good ramen and service.Ill return!

Comment: This place is not bad at all. I had the unfortunate luck of visiting on a summer day and the AC was not powerful enough to make the place fresh (as other establishments of similar size like Ivan Ramen). That aside, the service and quality of the place are good.Standout is the chasiu they put; it’s the best I probably had in any ramen place in the US.In terms of broth, I tried their pork and chicken combination with added garlic. While interesting, the garlic was very overpowering and to a point bitter. Not bad, but I feel that other items on the menu wouls make a better choice, despite this being their signature. If you are in the EV area, I highly recommend this place. Not sure it’s recommendable as “destination dining”.

Comment: Cash only! This is a cozy ramen-ya, so come early, otherwise there will be a wait. This was highly recommended by a number of different reviewers and news articles about NYCs best ramen. Since we love spicy food, we ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen and the Spicy Basic Ramen. Ive had many miso ramens before, but this is one of the most misoiest soup Ive had. Both soups are full of flavor and gelatinous (thick and rich) without being oily. It is definitely the highlight, since most ramen soup bases are too oily and salty for me. The chashui is seared with a blow-torch right before serving. This creates a smoky flavor that melts in your mouth the minute it enters your month. Definitely amazing. We also ordered the homemade pork gyozas. It was perfectly pan fried, with brown, crispy bottoms. The sauce was a good balance between salty and acid. This is truly one of the best ramen places in NYC.

Comment: I ordered the Spicy Miso an OH WAS IT SO GOOD. You might think that miso soup is not as flavorful as traditional Tonkotsu, but Minca Ramen will prove you wrong. It packs a punch, with traditional miso, but also increases the intensity. The noodles are top class; no complaints there. Now to the best part. The meat. The meat essentially melts in your mouth. You take a bite, and you get hit with a plethora of taste not dissimilar to sex in your mouth. I think the meat, while different, is on par with Momofuku.Ive also had the Spicy Tokyo tsukemen, but sadly, I dont have the pictures to commemorate my experience. Also really good, and one of the few places in New York that does good tsukemen.I got hungry while writing this review. Oops, time to go back soon.

Comment: This is one of the only ramen places Ive been to in the US that gives you some options. Its very typical of ramen restaurants in Japan to allow you to choose the hardness/thickness of your noodles, fattiness/oiliness of your broth, etc. Of course, you can always add/remove toppings, but Im talking about the essential ingredients here: the broth and the noodles. While I dont expect ramen to be exactly like it is in Japan, I think its a shame that this aspect of allowing the customer to customize these two components has not translated in the American ramen.Minca allowed us the option to choose how thick we wanted our noodles, but that was about it. The broth was a bit too rich for my tastes, but it was probably also my fault for choosing thin noodles. On the flip side, the next time I go, I can order accordingly.

But this was a new experience for me. All the ingredients are serve separately from the noodles on another plate. I think this helps creates and clearly distinguished what each ingredient taste like separately and together with the noodles. One thing that took me by surprise is the salt and garlic level in the broth. The broth was a bit too salty to drink on its like the pork broth. The broth is better when it is used as a dipping sauce.2. Pork Broth ramen - exceed my expectations. This was name as one of the popular options. The broth was consistent in flavor.I can not begin with the pork slice on both of the ramen. I personally do not eat meat because of certain texture I dislike. But these slices of pork are soft and easily to be pulled apart. The pork was well seasoned and flavorful even before the broth has submerged the slices. Both ramen plus tax and tips, our total was $34The presentation was clean cut.Service was great. It is a small restaurant with little room to walk around, the server makes sure that you have what you needed. Often refilling waters and making sure customers enjoy their food.I personally love ramen, and this is one of the best ramen I have ate at a decent price.

Comment: Damn New York, youve done it again. I continue to find incredible ramen that blows me away and keeps me warm on cold New York City days (and nights).I had the pork ramen and an order of pork gyoza (shared with my friend). Both were delicious & came out pretty fast. This spot can be a bit out of the way for some, but arent he best places off the beaten path? This is one of those places. This place is CASH ONLY!

Comment: The spicy pork ramen was the silkiest, most satisfying broth I have ever tasted. Didnt need anything else to make it wonderful. Came piping hot and on a cold day was extremely welcome. Best ramen, will be craving another trip to NY for this alone.

Comment: Best ramen joint in EV/ABC. Amazing ramen, open kitchen area and attentive service. Salted pork broth ramen is my fav. Cash only.If you need to wait in line, head down to ABC beer bar for a brew to kill some time.

Comment: Cozy place. Tucked away in a not so crowded street. The food is quite nice (according to a friend who is more of a foodie than me.. He claims that this place had the potentially the best ramen that he has tried in the east coast.. Theres something to that) in my experience, the food was quite good though being a hard crtitc, im not sure if its the best.. But definitely in the top 5 ramen places and would recommend

Comment: Great Ramen place. We were 3 and did have to wait for about 30 minutes. This place seems to be packed anytime we go. And no you cant reserve a table. But its completely worth it! Very good ramen options (the clear favorite has always been the spicy miso). We had the kimchi which was light and delightful and the shrimp gyoza as well which were great too. Very friendly staff is always the cherry on top of a good cozy place like this.

Comment: Hole-in-the-wall ramen joint with 1 server and 2 chefs producing steaming bowls of fresh noodles and good traditional toppings. The ramen noodles felt more egg-based than I was used to so I might have to go back to try it again. Broth was oily and well-seasoned. Egg is not of the soft-boiled variety. Generously sliced cha siu. Great for a quick trip.

Comment: Its actually delicious. As others have noted, the quality of the ramen is top notch, sans the long wait and stupid prices. The restaurant itself is tiny, but they produce some good stuff. Their pot stickers and raw radish salad were deeply satisfying.

Comment: Minca hands down has the best meat. It practically melts in your mouth and is very delicious. The broth on the other hand is average at best. This is a must go to ramen place if you are in the area. The restaurant is very small so it will be cramped.

Comment: Loved this place! Waiters were so nice and my tomato sio ramen special had so many veggies I could barely finish half the bowl. They easily can make the veggie options vegan too by taking out egg & replacing noodles. I asked for spicy but it was rough so watch out!

Comment: Small and warm and humble, with a broth (I went for the salt and garlic this time) that is the product of time and love and a lot of bones. You cannot go wrong. I love ramen like I love goodness and sunlight and puppies. Minca never disappoints.

Comment: Honestly I dont know why there are so many 3 stars for this place. I was in a party of 2 (yes 2 for dimsum...not all that crazy!!) and we were seated very quickly at a huge table...way bigger than we needed but we didnt mind. It was during Chinese new years so it was quite bustling and there were dragons wandering around throughout the venue.I really liked the food a lot. I loved the taro / turnip cake, shumai, cheong fun (white noodles with the black sauce), taro fried dumpling, pork spare ribs, sauteed greens, etc...I never get the porridge because I always make it at home when Im sick or feeling soup so its kind of an unnecessary filler. I thought the prices were very reasonable. My friend and I ate a TON and spent $30 and that was on a weekend/new years when they sometimes jack up the prices. So ++++ for that!If you think the servers are ignoring you, just get up and go get what you want...seriously they dont mind. Also on the sides of the venue there are cooking stations where you can get your food fresh off the stove! I love that.I thought the staff was pretty attentive and got us our tea/refilled it pretty fast and came towards our table when we flagged it down.I did take one star off by being soo farrrrrrrr from the subway. My friend is very good at directions so hes been here once before and memorized how to get here so we didnt have trouble...but imagine me by myself. gawd...i would be an hour late than my usual 15 minutes :P

Comment: Best and most authentic ramen you can find for the price in lower Manhattan. Ive been to Japan so I would know! Place is a little cramped, but the atmosphere is authentic as well. Try their #1 first, its good.

Comment: This is probably my favorite ramen place in NYC. All their ramen is awesome and my favorite is their tsukemen (dipping style ramen). The place is rather small, and I dont think they take reservations, so call ahead to see wait times or show up right at opening.

Comment: This is probably the smallest ramen shop Ive ever been to. However, they make ramen really well. They also have tsukemen, a soupless ramen that is very popular in Japan. They give you a large bowl of ramen noodles and a small bowl of dipping sauce. You can choose what kind of dipping sauce: soy sauce, garlic and salt, tonkotsu, or spicy miso. The toppings are separate as well: egg, 2 slices of char siu, scallions, and bamboo shoots. Its actually fun to dip the noodles in the sauce and customize what toppings you want in it. I like having this especially in the summer when its too hot to have a bowl of ramen broth.

Comment: We asked someone at Tea Drunk where the best ramen was and everybody in there had a favorite to chime in with. The most convincing love of ramen was for Minca so we chose them. Glad we did.The spicy miso ramen was delightfully spicy and tasty. The basic pork ramen was garlicky and rich. I dont have anything to really compare it to, but it was all delicious.

Comment: SO freaking good.the noodles were so delicious with the soup. the SOUP!!! i could drink it all day long. will definitely come back next time. Im glad it wasnt such a terrible wait on a weekday evening. The place is TINY so dont bring your huge group of friends here. I was really excited to sit right in front of the kitchen and watch the amazing chefs do their thang. Their char siu is so fattyly delicious.. slurp slurp* for some reason they torch it after they put everything in the bowl.

Comment: Minca is a no bs kind of ramen spot, just simple delicious ramen. I always get the Minca sio when I am here, the soup base is one of the best Ive had. The waitresses are always very nice, and very fast. If you dont need the the dining experience and do not enjoy 2+ hour waits at Ippudo, Minca is the ramen spot to be.

Comment: Ive been coming here for many years, and I have always found the food and service to be exceptional. The only downside is that the place is small and might not be a good place to eat for parties of 5 or more. That aside, if you want to try some ramen for the first time, or are looking for another ramen shop. I highly recommend Minca.

Comment: The third best ramen ive had in the city after Ippudo and Totto.I got the Basis ramen with thick noodles.Broth was good. Pork couldve been more torch charred, but they gave you bigger than the child pieces you get at Ippudo (and a few bucks cheaper than them too). Noodles were a bit firmer than I like, but still good.Would come back if in the area, or the wait is obscene elsewhere and I have a real hankering for ramen.
