Comment: Wonderful spot. Especially for a very intimate date. The jazz was fun, the service was great they leave you alone and allow you intimacy and space. I am still dreaming about the hot chocolates (we tried the ginger and matcha ones). The salmon was delicious

Comment: We just hosted an art + music birthday party here and everything about Mirror Tea House made it a great experience. Food and drinks were so tasty, the space was so conducive to guests sharing their art and music, and fumio was accommodating and excellent to work with. We’ve been coming here since the pandemic and so happy to have made this party happen. Plus you get to take your shoes off when you come inside

Comment: We got the tofu and mushroom main dish and it was incredible. Cannot recommend highly enough. The owner is so kind too and called us after we picked up the food to let us know that the sauce we had was vegan. Such fresh vegetables prepared in an inspired way. Love this food!!

Comment: Came to Mirror tea house for a relaxing dinner experience and that was exactly what I got! My favorite part was the ambiance: very few tables, sophisticated but relaxed vibe, and soft music that made it easy to talk. The food was also delicious- my favorite were the avocado bites and the salmon entreé. The entreés are very abundant and can be shared between two people (plus a starter). The tea and the sake cocktails were fabulous. Be prepared to come with patience since there is a single server so things can take a while. That said, service was great. I know people who have walked in but I would definetly recommend you reserve before you come for dinner, luckily I was able to make one only a few hours before my meal. 10/10 experience, would come again!

Comment: Visited this part of Brooklyn from out of town and was hoping to stumble upon a truly unique eatery while walking the neighborhood. This was it. The sake slushies and tea-infused sakes are potent and unique in flavor. The selection of food and drink is outstanding for such a small place. Other than the attention to detail in the dishes, what really stands out is the ambience. Everything from the menu design to the warm lighting makes you feel that a lot of careful thought has been put into your dining experience.

Comment: I’ve lived here for a long while but only visited for the first time today… and wow. There is a takeout window for tea/coffee, and a very tastefully decorated shoes-off indoor area only for customers who are dining in and/or having sake, with only seating for 6 people total. The food was incredible, and very unique. Sake and sake-cocktails also fantastic. The host was very responsive to our requests, and even whipped up a custom hot sauce for us mid meal. It felt very personally tailored. Can’t recommend enough!

Comment: It was such a memorable experience that we are, by all means, planning to take 3-plus hours of trains up from Philly at least 2-4 times a year just to have it again. We have no choice. The drinks were delicious, and the tofu dishes were so incredibly good, we have to reconsider ever ordering tofu anywhere else again simply because it will undoubtedly pale in comparison. The intentionality of every small detail was unreal. We are blessed to have stumbled upon this gem.

Comment: This is unabashedly the best food and drink Ive ever had. I came here last year as well and had the same beautiful experience. The host and chef are so beyond kind and talented, and the wait is WELL worth it as they take the time to make every dish and beverage as fresh as possible.Between Hot tea, coffee, craft sake, and amazingly arranged + healthy dishes (with BIG portions might I add!), I cant recommend supporting this little business enough.

Comment: I’ve been to this little hole in the wall three times now, twice to eat outside and once inside, and it is truly one of my favorite places in the area! The drinks and meals are all extremely vegan friendly and lactose free which is greatly appreciated. The tofu and mushroom dish is perfectly cooked and filling. I didn’t want to review this place because I don’t want it to get crowded but the owner and his team deserve another 5 star review!

Comment: A lovely little place on Union Street. Not only does it look like a beach shack, but you kind of have that feeling while sitting on the porch.Want some tea fine, but then theirs the sake, want sake but then theirs sake cocktails. Hungry? They serve a great miso seafood soup. There are a few more food options on the menu. All credible offerings.Seating is limited on the porch to about six people. If you live anywhere around Gowanus its a great place to walk over to.

Comment: This is a hidden gem in Gowanus. We stopped by for tea and coffee on a Wednesday afternoon and was amazing by the selection of teas, coffees, sakes. We tried the Banana Milk Coffee and an ice Tulsi tea- both done to perfection. It’s a intimate space with three tables, a window to order, and gorgeous decor, modeled after the Japanese concept of Chinju no Mori (Sacred Shrine Forest).

Comment: We just moved back to Brooklyn and this was our first stop. We are so happy to see that Mirror Tea House has an expanded menu. We took our toddler son here and had drinks outside and it was really fun. Great date place, great takeout that is healthy and inventive and really really lovely owners. This is a hidden gem and is a must visit for a meal, takeout or drinks (both alcoholic and non--amazing tea and coffee too).Update: We got gift cards as holiday gifts and look how cute they are! When 5th Ave gets too crowded this is my Ace. Food is fantastic! Eel is my favorite. You can taste the quality! And unique use of flavor. Mirror is also a great caffe to get away during the day. The owners are a super nice Japanese couple who love music. Hopefully when thins open up more they will start live again. Thank you, Mirror Cafe!!! Comment: A hidden tea room nested in Gowanus, Brooklyn. It only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 8pm. The rest of the time could be an private event venue or for a concert/performance. I love the simply white interior with minimalism decoration. The drink menu was very creative and interesting too. Banana milk matcha came out with very clear two layers with match tea at the bottom and thick fresh blended milk with banana on the top. Started with the bitterness from matcha and finished with the natural sweetness from banana milk, lovely! House made rice ball is also tasty. Pastry is partnership with Runner & Stone, a great bakery near by. I would like to come back for a music night;)

Comment: You have to try the banana milk coffee here, its amazing. I love the space and the people are super nice. This place is a great addition to gowanus. Its an easy place to miss from the street, very inconspicuous.

Comment: Homemade, authentic food that’s modern. Food was phenomenal, we had the the tofu and mushrooms and the salmon small plates. It was so good, salmon was surprisingly not fishy and the condiments were fabulous. The sake slushies were amazing too! It’s the perfect date spot! Small, insanely clean and very comfortable. I absolutely loved this place and will be back a thousand times!
