The people who works here are super nice and friendly. Have been a royal customer ever since I moved in to Staten Island and was super disappointed when I heard they had a fire incident few months ago. Comment: Very pleasantly surprised by this small sushi restaurant in SI. I have been craving Santa Barbara Uni for awhile and I definitely did not want to go into the city or Brooklyn. I was thrilled to find that this restaurant had both Uni and Toro! The Uni is fresh with a sweet buttery aftertaste (we went on a Monday evening). Yumm. As you can tell from the pics, we ordered one piece each to try before ordering a few more Uni pieces after we realized it was FRESH (old Uni is so uck) ! We also ordered the toro belly which melted in my mouth. It was ssooo good. I usually find Oh-toro to be a bit too fatty for my preference but their toro belly is between an Oh-toro and Chu toro which is PERFECT for me. I also enjoyed the Madai and the ebi shrimp head! The Ebi was a little too mushy for my preference.Each sushi had just enough rice and vinegar was not overpowering or taking away from the fish. I am not sure why some of the reviews complain there is too little rice. If you want rice order it on the side? Sushi is not suppose to have too much rice!!! We also order the Staten Island roll which was fairly good but too filling for me. Service was excellent and the workers picking up the phone were very nice as well. I certainly will be back to try the other items on their menu. I did not enjoy the smoked salmon (taste like costco smoked salmon) and wagu (recommendation to make this last as it was served cold and needed a little more torching). I would also recommend a quick torching on the madai pieces to give the skin an extra char. Otherwise excellent fish selection!!!

Comment: This place is absolutely Fantastic. One of my favorite places to eat on the island. Whats amazing to me is the consistency. I have been coming here for roughly 6 years now and the quality of the food no matter what you order is always equally amazing. Ive never been to a restaurant where you could literally order anything off the menu and no matter what you choose its equally delicious. I love that they use fish fresh from the market. The icing on the cake is that the interior of the restaurant itself is clean and comfortable and the wait staff and owners are the nicest people. You have to try it.

The have always been good in my experience as well.Why the 4 star and not 5?*1Non of the staff speak JapaneseThat’s a fairly minor point considering how they named it Asian Fusion instead of just “Japanese” or “Tokyo”. Sooo many places say they are Japanese but are the furthest and from that you can be. However their menu subheadings is translated into Japanese (more on that in point 2) so there is a feel like they are trying to give the idea of a Japanese style restaurant.2*The menu is not translated correctlyThe menu has Japanese next to the big subheadings, which I think is more of a decoration to make the customer feel like it’s more authentic, however the customers who care about authenticity (me) will notice right away the poor translations. I spotted at least two translation errors.Error one is next to “Salad” it says “スープ” (suupu) which means soup. The correct translation would be サラダ (sarada)Translation error two is next to the starters section. It says “とりあえず” (toriaezu) which I guess can be translated to starters, but it has a different feel to it. Toriaezu is more like when you have here in the west beer and pretzels or peanuts. This actually would come before the appetizers. In Japan many shops would give a very small plate of some kind of snack (some would charge for this, others wouldn’t, in the US I definitely wouldn’t charge for that unless you are super upscale). That would be more like toriaezu. In Chinese restaurants they sometimes give you those noodle crackers when you sit down and some tea, that is a good example of toriaezu. A better translation for appetizers could be アペタイザー (pronounces almost same as English)

I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento which came with hot miso soup, sashimi, california rolls, kimchi, salad, veggies, wasabi, and rice. Comment: The place has a cool vibe. I had read other reviews and thought Id give it a try. I tried their unfiltered Nigori Sake before I ordered my meal, which was very good but was a little bit more sweet than I usually go for. I then ordered my sushi ala carte because I like to select my own preferences. I was impressed that they actually had Toro. I find it really odd that every sushi restaurant Ive been to on the Island has Toro on the menu but never has it to actually serve. Not only did this restaurant have it; it was AMAZING! And I dont choose that word often. However, the Yellowtail was a little bit tough. The white tuna was great! The regular tuna was great! The Salmon was great! As well as the Ikura. The only other disappointment was the fact that the Unagi wasnt served hot. I find that true of many Sushi Restaurants on the island. Its supposed to be served hot and a little bit crispy but I never seem to get it that way. The last little nit-pick was that they didnt serve the sushi rice warm. Every first rate sushi restaurant Ive been to serves the raw fish on warm sushi rice. And that really adds to, and complements the fish. As for the price; Its a lot pricier than most places Ive been, which would be fine if the quality was kicked up a notch. After all, you get what you pay for. So, for me, this is a great place to go only when Im really jonesing for Toro, (which is pretty often). However, if they up their game, Id be there everyday.

Comment: This was a delicious treat! Midline pricing, smiling staff, fresh food & drinks served. Parking can be found across the street in the Stop n Shop plaza. I was shocked that I liked it so much lol. From the outside, it just looks like another regular sushi place. Give it a shot!

Comment: I’m from Japan, and I would say Miyabi II is the only place on Staten Island that serves authentic sushi. By saying “sushi,” I don’t mean rolls; I mean sashimi and nigiri. They always have good variety of very fresh fish, which is quite impressive. “Omakase,” which means “chef’s selection,” is about $40, but I think it’s well worth it (They have other reasonable menus too). One thing I would not order is rolls (thin ones are good- I’m talking about California rolls etc.). They are below average, compared to places that serve rolls anywhere. But when you go there, you should have sashimi (small portions starts at $6 or so) or nigiri anyway, because that’s their specialty!

Comment: This place goes above and Beyond for fresh food in high quality, I crown them the Gem of Staten Island for Asian food. Always have great experiences with their food. Good service, impeccably high dinner quality, they add parsley to their dishes and some with an orchid flower, wow. Even dustless dinner napkins, they give hot wet clothes to wipe your hands all with great food. All good. Dont know any place better then them.

Comment: I live nearby and ordered a tom yum soup, salmon and avocado salad, philly roll and a bubble tea.. Honey dew melon. The soup is delicious. They actually put shrimp in it and two kinds of mushroom along with other veggies. The delivery minimum is 15 dollars which to me is reasonable for japanese. The salad is a nice assortment of greens, and a good serving of avocado with fresh salmon and panko. The philly roll contains avocado in addition to salmon and cream cheese. And the bubble tea is delicious of course as well..at first i thought they didnt give me chopsticks, a straw, or soy sauce... I called back and they were willing to bring it to me after closing..but first the manager told me to check the inside of my menu which was rolled up with a rubber band in the bag. And of course everything was inside. Will definitely order again. Great food. Reasonable price..quick delivery and polite staff.

Comment: I dont usually write reviews. But I feel obliged to do so after being here. I came all the way from Flushing to try this place out. Japanese restaurant are everywhere. But its hard to find a decent one with high quality and reasonable price. The price was beyond reasonable, if I were to order the same thing in other Japanese restaurant in the city or long island, the price would be 40-60% more expensive. This is a family restaurant and they are delicated to Asian cuisine. Mainly Chinese and Japanese. The sashimi is a definite try. Besides the price, the quality and freshness of them are just exceptional. Plus, staffs are friendly and helpful. Dont take my words for it, go try it out. I promise you wont regret it.

Comment: We were almost heading to Bklyn but at last second before leaving I checked online & was swayed by the many 4 & 5 star reviews for this place & decided to try it & we are so glad we did. Its right on Forest Ave, across from Stop & Shop plaza (formerly Pathmark) so no parking on street in front of restaurant but parking lot across street. Staff was attentive & top notch. Nice menu with some interesting stuff. We stood relatively standard (kids were with us) and would fully recommend the Sushi & Sashimi boat for 2. The pieces of sashimi were great and the presentation was very nice. Samuel the owner stopped by the table and was gracious & pleasant....It was a great experience, will definitely be back & would totally recommend. The reviews were right...Take care.

The place is small, and its not located on the best area of staten island, but this is a surprise place for me, been living in staten island for over a decade, trying a lot of sushi place in the island, nothing was worth going back, this place i went twice, they dont have crazy special with fancy dish. There special are great portion, fish are really fresh, fried rice, rolls are all good. Staff are really friendly. I love there fish selection when I ordered the sashimi for 4. Highly recommend if you dont want to travel to Manhattan for good sushi. But do expect to pay $$$

Very buttery and creamy like salmon, tuna, etc. The special rolls were different each time and quite amazing. They gave us no trouble switching from the tuna roll to the California roll like some places. Im impressed with the staff - prompt, attentive, and genuinely interested in serving great food. The location isnt super ideal and you will really never find this place packed. Comment: Great Thai food! Close to the 48 bus stop, stops right in front of the restaraunt! They have private parking in the back do not park across the street or you will get towed! Great atmosphere and great food!
