Comment: When there to have a nice dinner, and I was generally satisfied.The food is not bad, as they offer immense amount of options. Desserts were fabulous.They serve Chinese food is French style, which is a new experience for me. The environment is pretty nice, except for the music, which have no pattern and is probably all from playlists called “chill music for restaurant” or so.

Comment: I went to Moonstone last week and I had to take the time now to write a review saying this place is hands down some of the best Chinese you will eat at least on Long Island. I especially feel the need to write this being some reviews here had me hesitant to go and drop money there on a meal but I knew to give it a shot since for every one negative review there were 4-5 more positive ones. I knew going in that it is definitely pricey BUT you get what you pay for. For example, the Beef Terkiyaki is $46 but it is filet mignon that is prepared tableside on a sizzling platter. It was worth every penny - all of it. We had that, the Mongolian Feast, General Tsos Chicken all after Wanton Soups and Spare Ribs. All VERY good. I ordered multiple entrees to share and had plenty to take home and make 3 more meals out of so the pricepoint didnt bother me. Dont listen to the nay sayers here - this place is amazing!

Comment: After coming here a few times, I can easily say I’ve never had any dish I didn’t like.This time I tried the Pan Fried noodles with chicken; it was delicious, chicken was tender, sauce was spicy and tangy, noodles were crispy. Servings are HUGE so you can order family style.

Comment: It was a great experience.Pros: Food quality was good, service was good, decoration was nice. Its a modern twist Asian restaurant. The desert pudding was outstanding.Cons: fried ice cream was pre-made. I was expecting a warm crispy crust with cold ice cream inside. I was a little disappointed. Another reason for a star off is too many choices on the menu, its like reading a book. It takes very long time just to finish reading the menu. Suggest to keep the menu shorter and delete some unpopular dishes.

Comment: A beautiful dining room and several mini sections of more intimate tables nestled in a corner or side of the bar. Theres a full bar on site as well. Dim sum served all day and a lot of appetizers to choose from (scallion pancakes, shrimp dumplings, Gyoza and the like). My favorite entree here is the Tangerine scallops or the casserole of fish with eggplant and mushrooms. Cantonese flavors mostly but there are some fusion choices as well. Sushi and sashimi on the menu too!

Comment: I was wary of dining here due to the prices ($14 for edamame?!), but my husband wanted to try the cocktails. As a chinese American who’s used to low key restaurants with great food but mediocre service (you go for the food lol), Moonstone was surprisingly good! Good portion sizes for families, beautiful and clean decor, and of course great service. Bathrooms were sparkling clean too. Our toddler scarfed down her food and puked and the waiter was quick to help us clean it up without us asking (we felt so bad!). They come around and refill your tea and water for you.We ordered five dishes for the 5 of us. I enjoyed the sizzling paradox (beef was super tender), chicken chow mein (lots of juicy chicken, mushrooms and noodles!), string beans, and the three cup chicken. We’ll go back next time for more cocktails (husband enjoyed his!). I want to try the sushi!Definitely worth checking out for a special occasion with a group, especially if people want good chinese food, modern decor, and welcoming service. We went on a Saturday night at 6pm, when there were only two tables seated. But by the time we left around 7:30pm there were only a few empty tables left. Parking lot is convenient too.

I have been coming here since it opened and have yet to have anything that I have not loved. Some of my favorites include the kowloon ribeye, steamed black sea bass, Bejing Roast Duck and crispy shrimp with honey walnuts.

Comment: Good place. Modern Asian cuisine, which means Chinese plus Japanese plus Thai. Had the pan spicy wings as an appetizer, which was great. My wife ordered the chicken and broccoli, which had a nice Chinese mushroom vegetable. I ordered the volcano rolls which were good as well. The service was great, however can feel like theyre trying to get you out of there faster. Although it might just be the Chinese work ethic. Overall good experience.

Comment: The decor of the restaurant was excellent. We reserved a table and was seated instantly. The staff was very polite and welcoming. Our server was great and helpful. We all ordered from the Dim Sum and Sushi Brunch menu which is offered on Saturday and Sunday between 11:30am and 3:30pm. I ordered the Wonton soup which was excellent. It was followed by the avocado salad which was delicious. I also ordered the steam chicken dumplings with chives. It was good. By the time my following Moonstone Lo Mein came I could only eat half of it . I was saving room for dessert. I ordered the Keylime Pie which was delicious. All this food for 35 dollars?! Awesome. This Asian cuisine didnt feel greasy or filling. It felt healthy and delicious which would warrant a second visit.

Comment: I had my daughters Sweet 16 party here this past weekend. Tommy is awesome. He spoke with me about every detail of the party and was very patient to make sure every detail was perfect. I did a prefix menu and the food was delicious and presentation was beautiful. I did a different menu for the teens and a different menu for the adults. Everything was absolutely perfect. The family style appetizers were plentiful for the adults and teens, nothing was cheaped out on by the restaurant and our wine glasses were always full. The servers were professional and on top of everything. Everything was served perfectly....nobodys orders were messed up....nobody was left waiting or hungry. Sushi is delicious and fresh.... guests loved the Rock Prawn Shrimp, Beef Short Ribs.....just everything, too many things to list. They were amazing with all the serious nut allergies and those people had all the choices of food that everyone else had and were able to eat all the appetizers too. Tommy spoke to me about all the allergies before the event and was amazing with my serious gluten allergy as well. He made sure to talk to me before the event and ask what I like and had special appetizers and dinner prepared for me custom. He thought of every detail including what kind of music she liked to make sure he had that music playing when her party was going on. He even had custom menus made with my daughters name on them for her party. The bartender also rocks. The drinks are always delicious and strong there....never watered down. He makes my margarita perfect exactly like I order it. Tommy wanted every detail to be perfect, with the decorating, the area he put us in, everything. I had absolutely no stress because of how great this restaurant was. Such a professional and classy place. Thank you Tommy and all the staff at Moonstone for making my daughters party perfect and memorable!!! Comment: I am an Asian (Chinese), and I have been living in the area where the restaurant locates for many years. I have to admit that I rarely have the urge to try this restaurant ever since it opened. The reason is simple, despite the fact that it is called an Asian Cuisine restaurant, the locals know that its mainly a Chinese restaurant. And, the Chinese know that a Chinese restaurant with a modern decoration and management usually ends up with one thing only -- expensive.So, hows the result of my adventure? To sum it up, it is expensive. My wife and I ordered 1 appetizer (Imperial Beef Short Rib -- NOT WORTH IT, dont order), 2 entrees (Thai Chicken Fried Rice and Tangerine Sea Scallops), and 1 dessert (White & Dark Chocolate Mousse -- VERY GOOD). The bill is about $100 after tips. If you compare to most Chinese restaurants nearby, thats about 300% more than you would have to pay for the same amount of foods. In fact, Moonstone is probably more expensive than Peter Luger, arguably one of the most famous steak house in New York, just a block or so away.However, do I think the high price justifies? I do think so.First of all, the service is simply top-notch. If you are used to the non-existing services in most if not all Chinese restaurants, you will be amazed by the attentive services provided by the staffs. IMO, this factor alone worth 50% of the price tag.Secondly, they are serving Asian-fusion, instead of traditional Asian foods. You may ask, shouldnt I pay them higher compliment if they serve more authentic Asian foods? Well, heres my logic. There are 3 ways you can make Asian cuisine better:a) Use more expensive exotic raw materials: personally, I dont like this approach and I believe they are overhyped;b) Stick with the traditional route, but push the execution to an artistic level that no one has heard of. Easy to say, difficult to do. The biggest problem is, not everyone can appreciate your hard work. You may fail before you succeed.c) Expand the horizon of Asian cuisines by introducing new idea borrowed from other cuisines. It is also not easy to do, but somewhat easier than (b) because more people can recognize your achievement.Moonstone picks (c), and the dishes they made are indeed delicious. Is it so groundbreakingly good that I would give it a 5 stars? No, but it is good enough, and DIFFERENT enough from restaurants that charge 300% less that I can look pass the expensive bill at the end.This is my advice if you want to give this restaurant a try. If you dont mind paying a lot more than usual Asian restaurants, and you dont mind eating non-traditional Asian foods, but you DO care about good services, go there. You would not be disappointed. Will I go there again myself? Probably not for a while, but I would not be too resistant to the idea, especially if someone foots the bill :-D
