Comment: Nami Nori is a neat temaki bar that you must visit. Their interior is minimalistic yet beautiful. Their temaki are amazing. They offer both bar and table seating. Speaking of which, I specifically made a reservation for a table, but when I arrived, the unfriendly lady at the front told me that the table seating is “based on availability even with reservation”, AFTER seating a couple in front me at one of the tables. I’m still giving this rating because the manager tried to make up for it. One downside was that the washroom door lock didn’t seem to work.

Appreciate that the full menu was gluten free and the staff took extra care to accommodate our specific food allergies. However, the portions were too small. An extra piece or two per set would make a huge difference. Great for taste, but left wanting more, which I suppose was the idea.

I wish more places would just do gluten free by default - it’s not that difficult, and Nami Nori proves it!Reservations are definitely needed. I got lucky with a cancelation this week and was able to get there within 30 min.We had the shishito peppers (I will dream of the red miso sauce!), miso soup, and a bunch of temakis. Warm Miso chocolate chip cookies for dessert 🍪Loved it so much, I ordered delivery for lunch the following day - everything was expertly packed and presented, and honestly just as good as in person.

Comment: Jakob (our server) did a phenomenal job last night! And most importantly, dishes we had were delicious, fresh, and crispy. I would highly recommend sitting at the bar if possible. Everyone came to check on us pretty frequently (refilling water, ask if everything is okay). Chief also made rolls at our pace. We were ordering a lot, to be honest, but we didnt feel pressure to leave early after we finished our last dish. Would definitely visit again with other friends.

Comment: Went to Nami Nouri yesterday to celebrate my friends birthday. The person who arranged our table was wonderful, she checked on us during our meal and wished my friend a Happy Birthday before we left! The food was incredible, each had a unique flavor and I loved them all. Someone at the next table told me their favorite was the sweet potato with chili sauce and I was amazed at the combination of taste and texture. (My tip for removing the wrapper is to slide it off while its sitting in the holder, I found that worked better than when I was holding it. ) Thanks for a memorable celebration!

Comment: Everything is perfect. People are so kind. I seated at the bar, so the sushi chef made rolls at my own pace. I had the signature set- tuna poke was 👍, xo scallop was not my favorite ingredients but they caught smells well. Coconut shrimp was 👍, salmon serrano was a little bit salty, cucumber black sesame was little sweet but fresh, nice to end. Spicy Crab dynamite was so crunch and tasty! I have already chosen what I have next time. Its a great pleasure!

Comment: Unique restaurant in west village! Their menu is pretty focused on Japanese temaki (hand rolls but they were not fully closed) with a decently extensive menu of drinks. I enjoyed the overall ambience of the restaurant as well as the service, our waiter was very attentive. This place is a little bit on the pricier side, as you do seem to be paying a bit for the aesthetic as well. Definitely a nice spot for a nicer dinner. I had some food beforehand so I wasn’t as hungry going into the meal but the portion sizes are on the smaller size - a set consisted of 5 temaki.

Comment: Yummy Temaki sushi spot in the West Village. We didn’t make a reservation, and they were fully booked inside, but they were able to seat us outside immediately. There are no outdoor heaters, so it was pretty chilly (but that was kind of on us).The miso soup was unique and filling. The txakoli wine was AMAZING- incredibly light and perfectly dry. We ordered the signature sets- the temaki is served “open-style” in little taco trays. The nori has this plastic covering that you have to remove off each piece which keeps the nori crispy. My favorites from the set were the tuna poke and coconut shrimp.Overall the sushi was good and it was an enjoyable experience! I didn’t love the process of taking the plastic off, but simultaneously, it did keep the Nori crispy which was good. It felt like a trendy dining experience– I would recommend checking this spot out! The service was excellent.

Comment: I’ve been meaning to come here for a while because of how much I’ve seen people rave about it. And because it has more complex flavor offerings than similar places.Weight time + service:I called ahead and asked about the estimated wait time, guy said 40-60mins. I walked in a bit before 8pm on a Friday night and asked for a table for 1. Lady was pretty nice and professional, told me estimated wait time is 40 mins and I’d get a text when a spot opens up. I appreciated the fact that I didn’t have to stand in line to wait and could go out and come back later. I got a text 30 mins later and upon returning was immediately seated. Few mins later the 2 vacant seats next to me were also filled. It took about 5 mins before a waiter came with a water for each of us. Another 5 mins before the waiter (short Spanish guy) came and introduced the menu to me. I had already read through it but appreciated this. I ordered 3 temaki before the waiter moved on.Food:It took 10 mins to get my first temaki. The following two were given within 3-5 mins. The first- tuna poke temaki with caviar was incredible. ($7 + $12 for caviar add on)Second- scallop temaki with tobiko and lemon ($9) was pretty good, tasted very fresh from the citrus and oniony. Wasn’t too fond of the onion pairing personally.Third was uni temaki ($24) which was so fresh and creamy and delicious. Would definitely come back for the first and third.Once I was done with all 3 the waiter came over within a few minutes and kindly asked about my experience and if I’d like more. I kindly declined and asked for the bill. Before completing my payment I got up to use the restroom (and let the waiter know my receipt was still there and I’d pay once I was out). There were 2-3 people in line ahead of me. While I waited a waiter quickly came over and carried my seat over to a private table. I grabbed my receipt and continued waiting in line. Once I was out of the restroom, seeing as how my seat had been removed, I awkwardly stood on the side until the waiter came to my vicinity and then stood there and paid before departing.Overall I had a great experience and enjoyed great food. I appreciated the service and any wait times weren’t an issue for me. Didn’t really appreciate the final moments regarding the restroom and paying but aside from that I can’t complain. My bill was $56 for the 3 rolls which is a bit steep but considering I ordered caviar and uni I felt it was to be expected. The food definitely lived up to the hype and I know I’ll return to treat myself.Note: I didn’t come on an empty stomach so the 3 rolls were perfect for me. Had I been starving, a set of 5 probably would’ve been necessary.

Regularly, for lunch or brunch most of the people wont have a big meal, that should be understanding. I was only me and I order one drink and a classic set of hand rolls. I wasnt impressing with my waitress service at all since she took my order. First, she made me feel I order too less, never came to check if I need anything else, when she saw I have the last bite she came and asked then quickly put the bill. I didnt finish my drink yet and I feel she want me to finish that right away and get out. You can tell the customer almost finish everything, why you need to rush it??? I still gave her 20% tips to showed her how to treat another people but not judging what they order.The quality of food was good, and chefs are very professional. I hope the restaurant will train their waitress better.Lastly, I live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I wanted to go to Nami Nori in Williamsburg for long time, but I still didnt have a chance so at this time I was in West Village, Manhattan and I decided to try. Only thing that will bring me back is the food.

It’s good but not amazing.I’m not too picky so this would have been 5 stars otherwise but service was definitely a miss. The hostess was friendly but our waiter was incredibly standoffish, did not refill our water, even though we were sat next to his standing area and it was a non busy Tuesday night (for outdoor seating, there were 3 empty tables). Just overall not very cordial, I’m not asking for him to sit down and talk to us but some attention and friendly service would be appreciated.

Comment: Fantastic staff and great hand rolls. They are delicious! Not your typical hand roll sushi in a cone-shaped nori. These come with nori squares in plastic wrap that you remove when you’re ready to eat it. I get that it keeps the nori crispy, but all the plastic waste makes me cringe. Why not just bring out the filling and have the nori on a dish the table can just take a sheet when ready? We can easily add the filling on top as we hold the nori in our palm. Certainly, avoiding plastics unnecessarily should be how we approach everything these days.

Comment: Great food at comparable prices. I ordered the signature temaki set but swapped the cucumber with a sweet potato tempura. My favorite was the coconut shrimp temaki. I also got the mochurros with lemon curd which was amazing, the texture of mochi with the lemon was a unique and amazing combination. We also got the braised bamboo shoots and ocean trout sashimi, both of which were absolutely amazing. Comment: Had the chance to stop by here for lunch with the wife. Its not often that I find a restaurant that I would like to revist but this one is a keeper. We had a reservationf or 1PM through Resy and got promptly seated. They have two round bar-style seating areas and some outdoor seating as well but I would recommend indoor seating to get the full experience. We had the classic set and signature set with each consisting of 5 various maki rolls. Ingredients are extremely fresh and served at adequate time intervals for you to enjoy. One downside experience that I had was that the staff that waited us (and another) did not seem much experienced and had difficult explaining menus or answer our questions. With that aside, I definitely would visit at least once more. Make sure you have a reservation prior to heading over.

They do a bit of a clean up and change over or something. I got the nori chips which aren’t pictured, but dude the chive dip they give with it is legendary. I’m sure it’s simple but it’s so delicious. The Signature Set is pictured and I remember getting it last time. It’s so damn good. My favorite pieces are the tuna on the left, and the coconut shrimp in the middle. Not that the other pieces aren’t good, they’re amazing, but the others are my favorite. I always recommend this spot to friends when they want temaki.

Since you normally think of breads and baked goods when gluten is mentioned, that doesnt seem too complicated, but when cross contamination is a huge issue, fryers are often shared with gluten foods, and soy sauce usually includes wheat, Asian cuisine can be difficult to manage.We were THRILLED to be able to go here, and even more elated that everything was gluten free! This place was a little more expensive than we originally throught and we came out having spent around $150 for two of us for lunch, but gluten-free food wise, the world was open to us, and we loved every menu item we tried. We got the calamari as an appetizer, and it was exactly the kind of tasty chewiness I expected and love! For our main entree, we both got a temaki set. We never tried temaki before, but we loved it! The coconut shrimp was our favorite, but every one of them was absolutely wonderful!I definitely recommend this place. The food, service, and trendy look of the place were all excellent. It was a little hard to hear each other in there, but not too bad, and the bathroom was cute and clean. Pro tip: Make reservations, because they were packed even at lunch on a weekday when we went! We wouldve ended up waiting for a bit had we not made reservations beforehand.

The quality of food was great, very much enjoyed the Tacos (we ordered a variety and all were wonderful). Dont miss the vegan ones, the one with chimichurri sauce was a delight. Definitely will come back. The wrapper around tacos were a little gimmicky though and I could have definitely done without them (if possible). The desserts were great too. All in all I highly recommend it. The main letdown was the quality of service. While I dont expect the waiters to be necessarily hyping a food, I do expect them to do their job with pride. Comment: This lunch has left me a high I’m now constantly hunting. To start, the staffs are all so kind! We dined in with 2 kids under the age of 5, and they were so accommodating to them. It truly made our meal so much more enjoyable. We had a cocktail (the matcha one?) and it was perfect. Not too strong, and well balanced. And of course, the ingredients were all super fresh with a well thought-out menu. Flavors complimented one another wonderfully. My favorites were the maitake mushroom and the Uni!

Comment: Second time visiting this restaurant and Ill be back again! The sushi rolls are super fresh and tasty. I like that its not just the usual recipes for sushi rolls. You have to pick 5 rolls and they come out as shown in the pics. We also ordered 3 appetizers and we had too much food for 2 people! My favorite roll was the mitake mushroom and lobster. The potato salad and calamari starters were very tasty too!

Please fix!!I decided to come here when passing through the neighbourhood and was intrigued since it was so busy. I was lucky to nab a seat and was so glad I did.Everything was superb. The ingredients in the salad were so fresh and worked so harmoniously — such gorgeous flavours. The temaki was stunning — I highly recommend the toro and lobster tempura ones in particular. The matcha cocktail was highly refreshing with lovely subtle flavours.The service was really attentive but not at all overbearing and my server was just a darling.Can’t wait to eat here again.

The spicy sauce was a really good addition to the scallop. I may order more than one next time.I also liked followed by tuna poke and coconut shrimp. Spicy sea bass was good too although personally I am not a big fan of chojang.Toro + scallion was good too but I realized that since I ate some of the flavorful / spicy ones first, it was hard to really appreciate the flavor from toro although gingers did help a little.In the past, I also had lobster tempura roll from Primo wasnt very crunch and felt soggy.For dessert, fior di latte was amazing and Id definitely get it again if I come back.The only thing that bothered me was that there was only one bath room and the line was long. I just wanted to wash my hand before I used my hand to eat the food, but it ended up taking 5-10 minutes of waiting.

We came around late lunch, and didnt feel rushed though we know its a busy place. Actually our service was so slow we felt like the waiting time before our meal came by was not very New York-friendly.Our server tries to give as much info and attention to us as she can. But just need a little more training, shell do great.Not sure if the plastic around the nori is really necessary. It makes my table feel guilty knowing how much plastic is being thrown out after. It also hinders many of us from having a complete roll since its easy to pull out the rice.Definitely giving a star to the interior. Beautiful vibes. But if you simply want good hand rolls, youll get better bang of your bucks at other places.

I recommend the nori chips, and the spicy tuna crispy rice. The signature set was also phenomenal.I would come back here for sure! We had passed people eating the hand rolls on the street many times and were intrigued by people struggling to find the best technique to eat them, and decided to try it. Comment: Me and my boss went here for dinner on a Tuesday evening to discuss my future at the company and how I felt about the company. Nicely done by my boss! He treated me to some excellent food and this was first time trying open-style temaki. We had made reservations for a table of 2 for 6 pm, and it was quite empty at that time. But within half hour, the place was 70% occupied!We had an extremely cute server, Lynn (sorry if I got the spelling wrong), who was very friendly and attentive and took good care of us. We ordered a few appetizers which included Furikaké fries (7$), an extremely refreshing serving of Wasabi cucumber tataki ($8), and a very tasty serving of Shishito peppers ($9).For Vegetarians and Vegans, this place has plenty of options, and I ordered the The Vegan Set ($28) from their Temaki Bar, which included 5 temakis. The Maitake truffle, and Tofu Chumuchurri temakis were absolutely delicious! Food overall was brilliant and we will be visiting again soon!Overall, an excellent experience thanks to their wonderful service and great outdoor seating!

Comment: Not your typical sushi restaurant.. Its a temaki bar serving open-style sushi hand rolls which is a little complicated if youre not used to it. It can get expensive really quickly. We started with appetizers - and Ive got to say that their shishito peppers were perhaps the best Ive ever had. My absolute favorite item on the create your own set was the spicy sea bass with daikon, perilla, chojang, But for pure drama and entertainment, the temaki topped with the gold flakes was fantastic! And for dessert, the matcha cake - SUBLIME. We sat at the back bar, served by Joe. Also of note, they do not have a full liquor license so only wine and cocktails made with wine.

We were seated close to the window area with throw pillow for comfort/decoration :)Their matcharita tasted amazing and so refreshing (perfect for hot weather...which it was on this day lol). Additionally, i tried the Japas beer, which had a nice taste with hints of ginger and orange peel (if you like blue moon, youll like this one). As for the meal, we each ordered the create your own temaki (hand roll) set - picking a total of 5. I decided to go for the following: coconut shrimp, spicy tuna, scallop, lobster tempura and spicy crab. Im sure everything on their menu taste amazing, but if i had to choose my absolute favorite, it would probably be the coconut shrimp (with green curry, lime and cilantro)!Definitely will be coming back here again to try their other temaki! Comment: I had seen this place on social media and wanted to try this place. My friend and I made reservations a week or so in advance for a Sunday afternoon. I would recommend making a reservation especially on the weekends since it was pretty packed even at 2pm on a Sunday when we went. They do have some outdoor seating, but we opted for a table inside. It was really hot outside so we were really grateful we did, but I fell like the atmosphere inside is much better than outside, too. There are some tables near the front of the restaurant with ample bar seating with their two sushi bars where you can see them make your hand rolls. We got seated in a private room in the back.For food, we ordered the furikake fries and shishito peppers to start. I got the brunch set while my friend made his own set of hand rolls. I would get the mentaiko mayo with the furikake fries. They really crispy and fluffy at the same time. The peppers were pretty good too. My favorite roll in the brunch set was the everything smoked salmon with tomato. The whole set definitely had a lot of the typical brunch flavors. My friend built his own set with the tuna poke, x.o. scallop, toro and scallion, spicy crab dynamite, and uni. Each of the hand rolls came with two pieces of plastic you pull apart before eating it. Its similar to the plastic you take off before you eat an onigiri.The waitresses were really nice and I loved having our own table to ourselves at the back. The decor of the restaurant was very simple and I appreciated the small details they had with the chopsticks holder, guide to how to eat the hand rolls, and even a little trash can for the leftover plastic that came with the hand rolls (dont worry, its recyclable). I would definitely come back to try more of their hand rolls.

Ordering was easy(just had to google some names to know what it was) and the wait for food was very little.The quality of the food was great, as well as the presentation. They were all delicious and each temaki had its own unique flavor. The gluten free beer they had was nice, havent had beer in a while! We went for the signature set and the vegan set. If you dont want to get a predetermined set, you can make your own combination.Overall, great experience. Some may say it is pricey, but the quality of the food, the presentation, and the attention of the staff make it definitely worth it. Worth visiting, its a unique experience! Its all temaki style, so if youre craving simple sashimi, this is not your place. The appetizers are also delicious and the drinks are very carefully selected and complementary to the food. The interior is very clean and bright.We ordered the calamari, the chefs set, and the matcha ice cream. The chefs set does not include any thing under primo or crunchy. The calamari was very hot and there were five pieces. The batter was crispy while the squid was soft and chewy. The yuzu sauce is really good but slightly spicy. The chefs set was decent. We had 5 hand rolls and none of them really stood out to me. My boyfriend liked the salmon with onion, cream and chives the best. I feel like all of the handrolls tasted the same or similar. However, I really liked the ice cream, but I wish they used matcha ice cream and then added the tiny bit of vanilla cream instead of the other way around. Overall, good experience, but I wouldnt go back.

The hand rolls were all masterpieces, and sitting at the counter watching the chefs prep them was a super fun experience. Don’t get the 5-7 rolls per person they recommend — instead, start with a few shared appetizers (the fries and the nori chips and the fried calamari are amazing!), then order just 3-4 hand rolls per person. Tuna avocado roll was my favorite, followed by the tuna poke. Don’t recommend the eggplant one, sauce was strange.
