Comment: I had never been to a hibachi place before and went with a group of nine for a friends birthday. It was adorable! Our servers routine was very much that, a routine. Practiced and perfected. We got all the staples: things flipping, big fire, sake squirts to the mouth (lol). The food was also very good. Lots of butter. But good. They even had some non-hibachi vegan and vegetarian options, which we appreciated. Our time there was great.The only cautionary thing Ill say is: the first waitress was nice enough to let us know about some drinks that werent on the menu, specifically sweet and semi sweet sake, or hot and cold sake. No brands mentioned. Apparently the hot and cold sake are the $10 house sake. The sweet and semi sweet sakes were Kurosawa Junmai brand. At $25 a bottle. Conveniently off menu 🙄

IMO there are pretty much 2 categories of Sushi restaurants in the US, Japanese run Sushi, establishments that honor, pay homage and represent this true Japanese traditional art form and then those establishments seeking capitalize on Americas lust for indiscrimate sushi rolls of any variety or quality that have become part of the American vernacular for take-out/delivery. To be very clear, this restaurant is NOT the former. This is no gourmet, Japanese style artfully crafted environment. With that being said, if your looking to go out for sushi and an experience moderately about the offering of your typical pan-asian sushi delivery options at an affordable yet surprisingly delicious standard, Natto is a great choice for doing so.

Comment: Ive been the Benni Hannahs, hibachi in Florida, and a few other that i have enjoyed, but i have never laughed harder and enjoyed myself more than i have at Natto. I fully recommend bringing someone who has never experienced Habachi and make them sit to the left, that way they have no idea what is going to happen. Watching my mom getting sprayed in the face with sake made me laugh so hard i was almost peeing myself. The next time im up north ill be back. Great place.

Comment: This is hand down the best hibachi place in nyc. A few tricks here and there. But its the quality of the food that makes it amazing. I ordered thr couples entree of shrimp, chicken, lobster ans filet mignon and what a food orgasm. Worth the trip

Comment: Always great for celebrations. The well trained hibachi performers cook great hibachi dishes. On top of that, the extensive sushi menu offers a wide price array from one dollar rolls to more expensive specials. I do have to say that as much as I enjoyed myself, the site itself could’ve been more special to enhance the experience. The cold winter wind coming in from the entrance kept the whole place cold. Great experience and packed bellies.

Comment: Top notch sush. Service? Exceptional. Experience? Unbeatable. Entertainment? In spades.I’ve been an avid follower of Scott Matus’ reviews for a while. Worship the guy’s whole calatlog. Where he goes I follow, because he’s got an eye for quality that’s unsurpassed.As per usual, he did not lead me astray. One filet mignon and shrimp combo later, I was in hibachi heaven. Combine that with a firehouse of sake to the face and I’ve been transported to cloud nine. Nothing better, second year in a row.I’m a man who values value, and at Natto I was not dissapointed. It’s essentially ruined all other culinary experiences for me. Quite frankly, if a vegetable is thrown into my mouth, I’m no longer consuming it. Sorry, Mom.5/5, two thumbs up, and one full stomach later I’m a happy camper.Thanks enthusiastic and attentive staff of Natto. And thank you a thousand times, fellow reviewer Scott Matus. Comment: Absolutely love this place. Been a few times now always with a small group and we keep coming back (never have needed a reservation). For about $20 you get your choice of chicken, steak, or seafood (or combo) with fried rice and vegetables. The food is really good and the chefs make it so fun. Sushi is decent and very cheap.

Comment: Standard hibachi fare in a non-pretentious setting. Wine is $4. $4! Steal. If youre planning on adding in drinks to your meal, this spot ensures youll keep your expenses there to a minimum. Our cook was on the tamer side though for the hibachi style. Could have taken it up a notch on the cheesy factor!
