Comment: Two different sources of sound I could hear from where I was sitting. So, it was a tiny bit odd. The food and staff were both GREAT!!! Now if the food or product delivery company would STOP increasing the prices of the products for this restaurant and all of the others too it would make it better for all who are affected by the highway robbery pricing. It hurts the customers and the owners of such great places like Oishii. Thank you to staff of Oishii Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too.

The owner came out after a while with a bowl of freshly made tea when we r eating in the car. It is such a nice gesture. We had a long drive that day (almost 11 hours). Quick service, traditional meals, and the best house ginger dressing and filet mignon Ive ever had. (I frequent many hibachi grills all over the east coast). They never disappoint me and eating their food is almost a must have to treat myself once a month—at least. I love them. 10/10

Comment: Very good and for a small town in western NY its outstanding. I know sushi and have been to at least a dozen sushi bars for at least a hundred meals. The sushi chefs were Japan-born and spoke little to no english which is what I want to see in a sushi bar. The owner is Japanese, speaks english well enough, and was extremely helpful for my dinner companion who has a gluten allergy telling us exactly what was okay and not okay. A young waitress, also Japanese but must be US-born speaking perfect english was super friendly too. A great experience. Im going back again. And again and again and again!

Comment: I am a big lover of sushi. Though I always am worried about trying new sushi joints because I am afraid of them using poor quality sea food/fish. This was not the case here. The proteins were delicious, tasted very fresh, while maintaining the lightness from sushi that I look for. The produce helped to increase the overall quality of the food. My go to place in Olean for good sushi. Still have yet to try their hibachi. Though I am sure with quality sushi they are rocking that as well.

Comment: I love this place. I used to travel a lot for work, have been to many large cities, and have eaten at many Japanese hibachis. This one stacks right up there with many in much larger areas. Pros: Ill call him the main host, Henry, is courteous, and funny. The food has mostly been cooked near perfect and to my liking. I have found that when cooked on the hibachi it seems to be slightly better then coming out of the kitchen. The place is clean and although I like it, my wife says its a bit too cold (temperature) in there, but only when sitting at the tables rather than around the hibachi. Many of their sushi rolls are simply awesome and we enjoy trying new flavors. If youve never had one, youre thinking about trying one, but are on the fence...I recommend the Superman roll. Its very tame, great for a person skeptical about sushi, and very tasty. Cons: Its fairly pricey to eat here. What I would call a full course dinner for two will probably run you around $100. We do enjoy a Sapporo and Sake while there which, of course, adds to the tab. Lastly, Ive never left there feeling guilty about what I paid for a meal.

Comment: Mmmm! Hibachi! Giant flames, knife tricks, and an onion volcano! Whats not to like? The food here was excellent! I had the Filet Mignon hibachi meal and it was delicious and plentiful. The steak was cooked perfectly (I asked for medium rare) and was very tender. The rice and vegetables were also cooked to perfection. Sometimes, these items can get overcooked at hibachi grills in my experience.Our chef didnt put on as much of a show as other hibachi places, but honestly, Im okay with that. I go for the food, not necessarily the show. Our chef was humorous and courteous. If I had to be picky, I felt our server could have been a bit more pleasant, but he wasnt rude. Just not overly welcoming. Like I said, thats being picky.The prices I felt were inline with other hibachi restaurants Ive visited. My filet meal was $23 (for a bunch of steak, rice and veggies) which I thought was pretty darn good. The restaurant was small, so I image it could get very busy. However at 530PM on a Wed evening, there was only 10 people there. I would absolutely visit this place again for some delicious food!

Comment: In a small, whitewashed unassuming small town like Olean NY with its milquetoast Catholic university, sushi restaurants are supposed to be bland, expensive and of very low quality due to lack of competition, and consumer inexperience. This one didnt get the memo tho. Theyre quite fresh, clean, delicious and affordable!

Comment: Great experience for the whole family. Our chef put on a great show and was very funny. Service was very timely even though it was super busy durning our visit. We received personal attention from the owner who was very friendly. If I had to find a negative it would be the limited space. There was plenty of room around each grill but there are only four at this time. The owner says plans are already being thought of for expansion. Would highly recommend!!
