Comment: On our way to Legoland, we stopped by for a hibachi lunch… WE FOUND A GEM!!! My girls loved their sushi and every aspect of our lunch. Prices are affordable and Jason was cheerful and entertaining. Will be coming back next time we are in the area!

Comment: I love this place and frequently get delivery and pickup from them. Eating in, the waitresses are kind if rude but the hostesses are always nice. Only complaint about the food is that the tuna is not very good at alllll. This is a big deal for a sushi restaurant. It smells and is definitely not fresh. Ive tried it MANY different times but it never changes. The hibachi is great and cooked rolls too but the tuna is a no go, which sucks.

Comment: I very rarely make reviews… however this restaurant forced me to in the best way possible. The sushi is absolutely delicious ! Super fresh and tasty. More importantly I loved how they have a soy paper option. I stopped eating sushi for over a year because i couldnt eat the seaweed paper and this was the hardest thing to do because I love sushi . Now that I know this place exist as well as having this soy paper option they now have a new customer who will be buying from here especially when I have my sushi cravings !

During our visit service was a bit slow leading to some of the food not being hot when served. The waitress was not friendly (although I saw others very friendly). I would recommend this place based on food but caution on service. I would try again to rule out bad night for service.

Comment: The first time I went, I had an amazing time. Food was tasty and fresh. The waitress (Amber) was ok. She may need a little sensitivity training when it comes to dealing with black people. But that’s just that one waitress. The rest of the staff was very nice. The host ( a white guy) was very nice. The second time I went, I had the same waitress from the first time I went and they mixed up my order and gave me a kids size portion as if I ordered a kids meal. I ordered an adult meal for myself and 3 kids meals for my kids but I guess when they communicated with the chef, he got confused. When I brought it to the waitress attention, she brought over the manager who tried to say I got what I ordered. When I disagreed, she got another manager and tried to make it seem like I was making trouble but I just wanted what I was paying for. The second manager then went to the kitchen and brought out some additional rice and shrimp but it looked and tasted as if it came out of the microwave. At that point, I just asked for the check, paid my bill and left. Overall, I’ll give them another chance, it’s a great kid friendly atmosphere. My kids love the Japanese soda. And the drinks are strong. The “Dragon bowl” is big. And the clear soup is the best I’ve had. The salad was fresh. 9/10

The place is not big there are about 5 hibachi cooking table with about 10 chairs to go around each table, I always order the hibachi steak & shrimp or chicken & shrimp the steak is nice in tender in the shrimp never has that lingering smell of sea food everything is fresh. If you are looking for hibachi food that is good go here but if you are looking for a beautiful restaurant this is not it just cute small seat down with family or a cute settle date night . Jason at Okaeri was AMAZING -- best chef weve ever had. He hummed and sang as he cooked. He narrated for us what he was doing. He was extremely talented at his tricks. His food -- probably the best Ive ever had. My significant other said it was top 3 for him. We live about an hour north and decided to try this place out for our anniversary. We will return!

Second time, we did hibachi and again, I was mildly impressed by the quality. It was a little on the salty side but other than that, we all enjoyed our dinner. Comment: We came to have a friends birthday here on the hibachi side and it was delicious! The hibachi comes with clear soup, a salad, fried rice, hibachi vegetables, 2 pieces of shrimp, and whatever meat you ordered. The food was DELICIOUS and the facility was very clean!Just like other reviews, I can only give this place 4 stars because no one seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Both the server and the chef did not smile and were emotionless throughout the experience.I would highly recommend the food!

Comment: My best friend and I went here together. We got two special rolls, and the sushi/sashimi combo. When the food came out, we werent expecting my roll to be on fire and an ice sculpture! Food was great and aesthetically pleasing, service is great as well.

Comment: Came with friends while we were visiting from Minnesota. We did the grill and it was really fun! The food was good. My only thing was that the chef, while we did have fun, he got food stains on us as he threw food for us to catch, or had the people at the table down a drink as he sprayed it in their mouths. Dont get me wrong, it was super funny and we had a blast but we had nice dress clothes and we all got some minor or big stains on our clothes which was kind of a bummer but hey, still fun and wed go back!

Comment: I have been here twice with my family on the regular restaurant side, not the hibachi side.The service is outstanding, courteous, prompt and attending. The food was delivered quickly and was a nice presentation as well as a great tasting dinner. What I also liked was that the prices were so reasonable. I have gone to Japanese restaurants and spent a lot more for lesser quality food many times before. I am giving a 4 star review only because I have not been to the hibachi side of the restaurant yet. The food was perfect, the service was perfect and the cost was affordable enough to make this a weekly stop. Next time we are going for the hibachi and I will add to this review.

Comment: This place was packed on a Saturday night, as expected. My group wasnt able to sit at the Habachi grill but we could still order off of the Hibachi menu, so that was nice. The sushi rolls are great here. And the lunch special gets you 2 rolls for $8 or 3 rolls for $12. The lunch special lasts until 3pm and its even available on Saturday. Definitely take advantage of this good food when you can

This is by far the best our chef was jacky, he was amazing a younger guy with excellent knife skills and personality but one who knew how to develop the flavor! You know that so many can do one or the other but not both.Our waiter, Eric was equally impressive remembered everything and was so attentive. Also, another young guy with great personality; so hard to find these days.Lastly, the owner should be commended for more than training the staff. The food quality was much higher than you normally find. The scallops were super plump and when they hit the grill showed nearly no water. Comment: This is the best hibachi we have ever eaten. Not only was the table chef very personable and entertaining, he also cooked everything to perfection. Usually hibachi meats are overcooked, tough and dry. These were not. The filet mignon, both the rare and the well done ones, were perfect. The chef had us try a piece to make sure it was to our liking. The scallops, lobster, shrimp and salmon were also perfectly cooked. We are never going anywhere else for hibachi!

They were a kind and courteous staff, the place was clean, the prices were average or just below for hibachi, the food portions were average or just above, and our chef Jack cooked everything perfectly. I would recommend to everyone. Imho, Okaeri blows Gasho out of the water. We normally eat at Mr. Sushi in Middletown or Mt. Fuji in Hillburn which are both excellent choices.
