Comment: I randomly found this gem of a Japanese place while looking for cheap eats. I was not expecting such good quality food for the price. The scallop teriyaki was fantastic, the fillet mignon was perfectly cooked, and their lunch special sushi roll combos were very filling and great quality for the price. For appetizers, we tried the yellowtail jalapeno and mixed mushrooms, both of which were superb. Ill definitely visit again when Im in Manhattan.

The value for your precious dinero? Absolutely stellar.The service, oh the service, was a symphony of kindness and attentiveness. The staff, perpetually adorned with beaming smiles, could teach the sun a thing or two about radiance. If happiness were a currency, this place would be the Federal Reserve, and they were printing joy like theres no tomorrow.And now, the pièce de résistance - the ice cream! As we delved into a scoop of red bean gelato, we were transported to a gelato utopia. Its as though the gelato gods themselves had whipped up this masterpiece. The flavor was a chorus of rich, creamy notes with red bean accents that danced on our palates. It was nothing short of gelato nirvana. Magnifico, indeed!

Comment: This place is a nice Japanese restaurant! 🇯🇵 Rake Its Japanese II ok the UWS serves a wide variety of delicious 🤤 and authentic Japanese 🎌 dishes 🍽️ and an endless selection of sushi 🍣 - definitely try their Chicken 🍗 Teriyaki with rice 🍚 and broccoli 🥦 on the side! Comment: Lighting is dim, workers are energetic and patient, and the food is delicious. It’s a lovely spot right next to one of the best museums in the city. Comment: Raku has the best lunch specials in the UWS and its a popular venue. I went at noon as the first customer and the place was overcrowded after 10-15 minutes. I tried a chicken teriyaki lunch box, that came with rice, tuna rolls, and miso soup. Soup was ready immediately and the lunch box took maybe 10 minutes to be prepared. The food was tasty, the portions were enough and the service was also nice. I think I’ll return there to try others items from their menu soon.

Comment: I ordered the bento box with the following selections:main - chefs choice sushi (7 pieces)side - gyozastarter - miso souproll - salmon avocadodessert - green tea ice creameverything was pretty good overall. the fish was really fresh and at this price point exceeded my expectations of the quality/flavor. the gyoza and miso soup were also pretty good. the outer skin/shell of the gyoza was nice and thin and the meat inside was juicy and savory. i must say the green tea ice cream was what won for me that night. it was so delicious and full of matcha flavor. i am lactose intolerant and it definitely messed up my stomach, but for that ice cream i’d do it all over again. i’d recommend trying them out!

Comment: Came for lunch after morning at nearby American Museum of Natural History. Cozy homey spot with friendly service and good lunch special set. Ebi (shrimp) roll is fresh and sweet. Eel roll is a bit heavy on the sauce so cannot tell if the eel is good or not. Miso soup is tasty. Staff are Chinese and the female staff (didn’t get her name) is very good and accommodating. Not really their fault but there is only one bathroom and the person before didn’t flush his/her poop… so more of the customer quality issue here lmao.

The sushi was okay. The Toro was awesome, very tasty and very fresh. The mackerel was terrible, tasted fishy and chewy. Yellowtail was pretty good though. If you are in the mood for rolls and maybe a couple pieces of sushi, youll have a good time here.They also seem to do a ton of deliveries. we were sitting at the bar for maybe an hour or so and saw at least 50 take out dishes heading out. If youre ordering take out, just order the rolls.

Comment: Great Japanese food, with generous portions. I tried a house specialty, Spicy Tuna Poppers — warm fried rice balls smothered in spicy tuna with jalapeño sauce and a slice of fresh jalapeño. Delicious! Their wasabi is kinda weak (gaijin style, ne?) so ask for extra if you like wasabi. We came early, so no trouble getting a table, but a reservation is probably a good idea.
