Comment: Its impossible to exaggerate when saying this place is the absolute best.Ambience and service are elegant, quiet and impeccable.The food is authentic, thoughtfully prepared, and simply delicious.My friend and I have always come here for the soba salad. They grow their own buckwheat, and the salad vegetables are crisp and fresh. The salad dressing is so flavorful and perfectly complements the salad and the soba noodles. The crisp noodles on top give you that pleasing crunch of texture.On this particular occasion, when we came into the restaurant, there was a mouth watering aroma of japanese curry. I couldnt resist it. I ended up ordering a small soba salad and then the godzilla beef curry for my entree. Wow. I have not had such savory, rich curry since I was in Osaka for my brothers wedding. I was instantly transported back to Japan by my tastebuds. Amazing.For appetizers, we also had the small chicken karaage and the miso black cod. Ive had the popular miso black cod from Nobu and this dish is on par with that dish. The chicken was juicy and tender and served with a savory egg salad.Everything about the meal was perfect and we cant wait to come again.

Comment: I wouldnt say this restaurant is authentic. It is beyond that. When you enter here you temporarily leave all the chaos and noise of Manhattan and get transported to Japan. They serve dishes that are uncommon here in the US, and even fugu dishes during the winter, how crazy is that!The food is delicious and the service excellent, like in Japan :)

It’s the kind of place where you can impress a date, have a business discussion, enjoy a solo meal, or get together with friends and family. You will be awash in the lovely design, the fantastic food, and the back and forth of spoken Japanese as waiters joke with cooks, customers and each other. It’s a truly delightful spot. Also, you can get the only fda approved fugu there if you’re feeling dangerous! The udon is incredible, the fried chicken delightful, the sake tastings wonderful and the sushi-utter perfection. I go whenever I can.

Comment: The eel rice is very good. The eel is plump and not greasy. It has some Sichuan pepper powder and is quite flavorful. The sushi is made very well, the rice is the soul, the grains are distinct, soft, glutinous and sweet. The teriyaki beef contains tofu, vermicelli, and mushrooms, which is very suitable for this winter. Desserts are very Japanese. The sundae is mixed with jelly cubes to give it a layered texture. The Fuji tea mousse cake is also worth trying. The service was impeccable, except for the spicy tuna, I forgot the sauce at first😊. Many celebrities have been here too.

The miso eggplant, the sukiyaki, the mushroom broth, the ice cream, the soft-shell crab in vinegar were good. The homemade renowned soba was actually on the tougher chewier side. The ham and cheese, are you kidding me？ All in all a good meal. However service can be challenging as it is close to UN and you see lots of officers around and you become an afterthought.
