Comment: I eat here often. The food is consistently excellent and it is not all that expensive. Renovations around six years ago yielded a more modern space with a nice bar area. Ive only sat once at the grill tables and it was a fun experience. Be prepared for a show! Dress here is decidedly casual, which reflects the restaurants location in a strip mall.

Comment: Last Wednesday I went with my girlfriend to have dinner at this place. Before the pandemic we used to love to go regularly but this time we were surprised that it was empty. Now I understand why. The woman at the front desk is rude, with lousy customer service. She treated us in a bad way, Like she didnt want us to be there, never said good evening, Thank you for coming or thank you. It is sad that people like this damage the image of a good business, the owners should pay more attention to the people who live in Riverhead and because of people like this, we will not return to Sakura, because they make us feel uncomfortable.

Comment: Sakura is the absolute best place for japanese quisene. The food is of the top teir quality both in taste and looks and is something you can really enjoy eating. Dining inside is temporarily not allowed but the hibachi experience is a must when it is reopened to the public. Nothing can quite compare to have you food be cooked before you by a professional chef while also putting on a bit of a show! Would recommend this place to everyone and I do all the time! Glad they are still doing well in these covid times!

I’m a vegetarian who loves hibachi cooking but often finds only meat options so I was happy to see the vegetarian hibachi dinner, as well as a la carte veg menu items. The food is consistently amazing, and the prices are reasonable in comparison to other Sushi bars. The only complaint I have about this restaurant is that the front door is too heavy, and takes forever to close. This can make unwanted cold air circumvent the restaurant!

Food was really good and prices is what you expect from a sushi place. Recommend it for anyone who is local and wants some sushi or Japanese food. Comment: Dont assume this is one of those cheap sushi spots just because its located in a shopping center next to Big Lots! The menu and end results fall on the line of fine dining with above average culinary skill in the sushi department. On the other hibachi hand, its very cut and dry, textbook style. Absolutely no creativity was incorporated into the act and feed the animals (meaning you), was their only focus. Since the hibachi side takes up half the entire restaraunt, I wouldve given them 3 stars, but the sushi chefs saved their arise!

Not from here, but this is the first Japanese place I saw since leaving the city.Ordered the chicken and steak hibachi which came with fried rice, soup, and salad. Salad came with ginger dressing which was so good I licked it out of the bowl. Soup was kinda bland but definitely acceptable. Steak was cooked perfectly and paired well with hibachi sauce. Chicken was excellent as well. I will definitely remember this place
