I started with sushi but discovered that you get many more piece of fish with the sashimi. It isnt quite perfect though. Ive had an instance where the uni was not the freshest. Waygu sashimi was a little weird for me. I debated 4/5 stars but I just cant help the fact that I really like this place!

We started off with the Lychee Martini that was shaken at the table and Korean beer. Comment: Havent written a review for a bit but this was a must.Service : Front Host and servers were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Made some great recommendations. Always in the small details like my water cup was never empty.Started with grilled octopus, miso cod . The cod was flakey and grilled to perfection. The octopus was charred with a hint of smokey flavor, grilled to the perfect tenderness.Drinks - had a passion fruit mojito. Perfect balance of sourness from the passion fruit to the Mojito. Compliments to the bar tender. Im not a huge drink fan but there is an extensive list.Curry Pork Kastu and sashimi for entrees. Super fresh fish would definitely order again. The curry was out of this world. Amazing depth of flavor to cover a juice pork Katsu.Lastly we finished with the Cheesecake tempura with matcha ice cream. The slight bitterness of the Match balances the heavier creamy cheesecake exceptionally well.Overall compliments to the chef. We had an amazing dinner.

I don’t live very close as it is around a 20 minute walk from my apartment but it is really worth it to buy their delicious ramen there. Try their spicy miso ramen or beef teriyaki, those two are my favorites!

Comment: I love stopping by this place for a drink at the bar during happy hour (weekdays from 5-7pm) or over the weekend to watch a game on the big projector screen above the bar. Only problem is that they don’t play the audio of the game on the speakers; video only. Either way, the food is great - delicious sushi and excellent hot appetizers - and they have a decent beer selection on tap. I had a couple Brooklyn Brewery IPAs but they also had Brooklyn Lager, your standard Japanese beers like Asahi and Sapporo, and a few others. There’s restaurant seating in the back and up on a mezzanine floor in the rear as well. Overall, I really like Sapp’s both as a bar to grab a quick drink or two or to sit down fora delicious Japanese dinner and would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Their prices are very good too, especially for the quality! Staff is kind and patient, ready to make recommendations when needed. The space is big, not fancy, but definitely worth a visit. Comment: Went here for happy hour on Friday evening and their outdoor setup was pretty good to have a few drinks and some appetizers.They have $5 wine, cocktails, and beer. I had a Sapporo and ordered Vegetable Gyoza ($8) and Shishito Peppers ($9). The Vegetarian Gyoza, which is pan fried veggie dumplings are absolutely delicious and highly recommended for vegetarians!!Service was excellent and staff was very attentive.

The menu is large and covers a range of delicious dishes for everyone: sushi, ramen, meat or vegetable appetizers, bento boxes, and more. My favorite dish: the tonkotsu ramen because it’s so rich and tasty (it even packs well for delivery!).This photo was taken before quarantine, but Sapp’s is also one of the few places who adapted well during quarantine by opening an expansive patio area and a take out window out front.Highly recommend!!

Comment: I knew this place existed for a while. Its located between queensboro plaza and court square station. It was Christmas eve and finally I decided to make a visit. I sat at the bar counter and ordered a tsingtao beer. All the regular drinks are $5 at happy hour. The atmosphere is nice. The staff is friendly. I ordered food both from the kitchen and the sushi bar. The food from the kitchen wasnt that good but the ceviche and the sushi from the sushi bar was really good. I recommend that you order food from the sushi bar at this place.

I recently tried their take on a scallion pancake (can’t remember exactly what the dish was called) and loved that as well. Highly recommended! The only thing I’ll say is that the interior is a tad too dimly lit for me.

We had the omakase, and for 8 pieces we paid 45 dollars each - which is a great deal for an omakase meal. The food was well done, fresh, creative and delicious. Our sake was really great too. They have other types of Japanese food as well, if sushi is not your preference. I highly recommend Sapps!

The dish comes in a little bento box which is really cute. The unaju is a bit greasy and my boyfriend disliked the ramen. The blast roll is good though. The service is awesome and quick.

The fried rice spicy tuna appetizer was one of the best single things I have eaten this year. After we had finished the staff graced us with a house made dessert of dumpling ice cream sandwich in both vanilla and green tea. This place is new and I would recommend you stop in for lunch or dinner and see for yourself how good this place is..

Comment: Great experience for dinner. I ordered the poke bowl and it was good. Not the best I’ve had but still good. It had salmon, tuna and avocado on top. Rice was cooked well. Service was good too! I enjoyed my “drama queen” cocktail - highly recommend for tequila lovers.
