Comment: Ramen, sushi, and tea... yes, please! First approaching, you see a tiny store front with a bar, but dont let it fool you. There is further seating in the back. Forewarning if sitting in the bar area during the winter time prepare to be hit with a cold breeze. I would suggest making a reservation to ensure getting a table. We both had their ramen with a spice bomb, split sushi (contained kimchi), and each had tea. Loved the individual kettles, and the dishes were scrumptious. I will definitely be back. Oh, fyi you can purchase chopsticks here for home. They are nice quality.

Love ramen or a sushi dinner there. Try to sweet potato tempura roll and the Hokkaido roll! Both are unique and delicious!

Comment: My friend and I went on a sushi date and enjoyed ourselves a lot. We started with kimchi and the cucumber salad, but sadly we didn’t have a liking for the kimchi which was just a personal preference, but the cucumber salad was very good. Then we had the chefs choice 5 piece sashimi which was incredible. I totally recommend the elmwood roll with raw salmon, raw tuna, and tobiko eggs on top! To finish it off we had the Japanese Oreo jiggly cheesecake which was also very amazing. Will definitely be going back to try the ramen.

Comment: This place can have long waits to get a table sometimes, so you might want a reservation. With good reason too. The food is delicious and there is a great variety of sake I cant find at any other restaurant or at a liquor store. I thought the ramen was slightly al dente, but otherwise perfect. I got a bite of my friends okonomiyaki, which was also delicious, might have that when we come back. Our server treated us well and made sure our sake glasses were full.

Comment: Very nice experience. I have been to the no frills version on Main Street and love it for lunch. We had a vegetarian family member come in town, and I thought this would be a good place to go with lots of options. He enjoyed his ramen. I got a Japanese curry with tonkatsu. It was delicious. I also had a sushi crunchy crab roll to start. Which was also very good. The Wasabi and pickled ginger had a little extra zip too.Dessert was the jiggly cheesecake. Japanese cheesecake with a blueberry sauce. I have been wanting to try japanese cheesecake for awhile now and couldnt find it in Buffalo. This made my night.

Comment: Someone recently posted to the r/Buffalo subreddit saying they were moving from California to Buffalo and were looking for ways in which the two places compare/contrast…As someone who lived in both, I gave him some honest comparisons—the Pacific Ocean vs Lake Erie, places like Yosemite & Sequoia & Joshua Tree vs places like Niagara Falls & the Adirondacks…For food, I said it’s a bit of a tossup—that there’s food in Buffalo you can’t find in comparable quality in California. Wings and pizza are a couple obvious examples.On the same token, there’s food in California that you can’t find in comparable quality in Buffalo… Latin and Asian foods being prime examples.My comment was immediately flooded with replies asking my opinion of SATO and how it compares….I was ashamed to admit I’d never been here.That has now changed and I’m happy to report SATO lives up to the hype.The spicy miso ramen is on par with some of the best gourmet ramen I tried in Los Angeles.The gyoza is a little oily, but delicious.All the sushi I tried was great.Very happy to have discovered this gem.

Comment: Went with a buddy for a early dinner during Porchfest and though the wait took a bit, the meal itself was delicious. I had the Sato Ramen ($14) which was flavorful and satisfying. My friend ordered pork dumplings for the table and the salmon teriyaki roll which he really enjoyed and even contemplated ordering a second one. The dumplings were good too. The staff were friendly and professional and once we ordered our food came out very quickly which was nice.

Comment: For Take Out I ordered Veggie Ramen and Tofu Don which were both fantastic, the kombu broth was very good and you could tell by taste and texture the vegetables were absolutely fresh (especially the shiitake mushroom!!!).I dont know what was in the kewpie mayo-like sauce on the Tofu Don but it was REALLY GOOD as was the tofu itself.I also ordered the Ambrrr Ale Crowler and someone who drinks A LOT of beer, especially during 2020, this is one of the most perfect beers Ive ever had the pleasure of drinking. Comment: Four of us ate here, partly because my friend and I dont often get the chance to eat Japanese food and partly because our friends had had it recommended to them for its excellent gluten-free provision. Our experience was entirely positive. Our friends both had a fine bowl of ramen each while my friend and I enjoyed starters (lovely thinly-sliced squid for me) followed by mains (a large selection of fresh, delicious sashimi for me, a similar platter of sushi for her). Absolutely great. The staff were also very good. We had a nice young woman who was friendly and helpful (especially with my gluten-free requirements, about which she was knowledgeable).

Fresh ahi tuna, cucumbers, avocado cream and seaweed salad, if your looking for the perfect summer nachos, well you just found it! Recommended to me by a lovely, stylish and charming waitress, Tova, i was not disappointed. Talk about presentation! Tasty and pretty to look at! to accompany my meal, Tova made me two, delicious, summery cocktails which totally complemented my evening. I highly recommend the Cukes of Hazard and the Sake Baby Sangria. The drinks were great, but made even better by the lovely Tova who makes you feel warm and comfortable as you enjoy the delightful food and beverage selection.

We had our golden retriever with us and they happily allowed her to sit on the patio, brought her a bowl of water, then offered and gave her a couple pieces of chicken! Comment: Rooms looked great. Beds felt great. Connected to the club so weekends are a fun stay. Only issue was price. Booked the hotel at the cheapest and was charged a fee for the hotel online. I got a confirmation that nothing else would need to be paid so i went to the hotel and was surprised to find out that i had to pay $100 more in fees and had to put $50 down for the room and that we would be refunded if the room is in order. In total for 2 rooms and staying 2 nights we paid around $400 but we got $50 refunded. Other than the prices the stay was great. Lots of awesome inside and outside of the gold spike.
