Comment: Overall, the food was good, but a few flaws in service held me back from giving a full 5 stars.Came in solo to dine at the bar - despite the entire bar being open except for two people at the end, the hostess walked me in and sat me right next to the only other 2 people at the bar. A little close for no real reason.I ordered the orange miso salmon and it was quite good, but the salmon could have used a bit more flavor. The veggies on the plate had more seasoning & flavor than the salmon itself.The server did not let me know when ordering that the rice he offered was an upcharge - I had assumed it came with the meal when he gave me a choice of white or brown rice.

Miso soup was brought to us first, and as appetizers we had wagyu tataki (garlic and ponzu sauce), yakitori, and shrimp shumai. Everything was so delicious!Sushi is nigiri sushi. Sashimi is a platter of sashimi that can be served with vinegared rice (slightly warm) or regular rice.I had a large size of sashimi and vinegared rice. I think there are 2 to 3 servings of assorted sashimi at a typical Japanese restaurant. Very conscientious. And the sashimi was fresh and delicious!It seems that the selection of sake, Japanese whiskey, etc. was perfect. We were about to drive back to Manhattan, so we gave up.The waiter was always attentive to each table and provided very good service. He also told me about a spot with a beautiful view of the ocean and a gelato shop nearby.We will be back here again soon!thank you very much! The soups are full of distinctive flavors and do not disappoint. In the summer youll find a long wait however a walk around sag harbor well make it feel like 5 minutes. Well worth the wait

Love the backyard garden -- my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with dinner last Summer and cant wait to do it again this Summer. Great to grab and go to Long Beach to watch the sunset from the back of the Jeep too. Nine times out of ten the food is amazing here and we love the Sake selection. Serving staff is amazing. Highly recommended!

Comment: Very cool setting with the outdoor dining - they are being a bit pushy with the time (like an hour per table) and $60 per person minimum spend - the food was good - not spectacular but pretty good - we had the shrimp dumplings (okay) - the orchid roll with salmon (pretty good) - the fluke ussuzukuri (good) - and the salmon sashimi (good) - the ponzu sauce could use an upgrade, it was not very tasty lacking a bit of citrus - perhaps adding a bit of yuzu would make a big difference ...we had 3 drinks - the lemonade one was great but I had to ask for a bit extra simple syrup - the lychee one was not worth it at all - the mojito was great too. Overall highly recommended for the setting and the prices are fair - ended up spending $150ish for 2 ..

Comment: After working in restaurants for 5 years I pay close attention to service, & Im continually impressed with the world class staff at Sen. We arrived on time for our reservation & were seated within 5 minutes. Our server, Erin was friendly & attentive . We were greeted within 2 minutes of sitting down, she went over the specials & gave us an opportunity to order an appetizer & drinks. I started with my favorite..rock shrimp & a Japanese mule . In 10, maybe 15 minutes we had Yellow tail & Torched Salmon for our entrees & they were absolutely fabulous. Dessert was their flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream a la mode & green tea matcha . Back when I was a waiter I was trained that our guests would be disserviced if we didnt give them the opportunity to spend their last dime in our restaurant, & Erin did the same with us but with grace, we didnt know what hit us :) Lol . Id gladly do it again, they have such an amazing restaurant. Last night was the first time I had been to Sen since they renovated. Its beautiful. They commissioned legendary artist Lynn Matsuoka to paint a fantasy landscape in Japan, its hanging by the bar. Great food, great people, great service.. I highly recommend Sen Sag Harbor.

Comment: This was a really romantic dinner for me and my boyfriend. We decided to take a small drive from East Hamptons to Sag Harbor and try this sushi place everyone had been talking about. From the entrance, the host was really nice to us and immediately sat us in a table for 2. Candlelights and chill atmosphere was invading the restaurant. We ordered margaritas, I accidentally spilled mine and the staff was unbelievably fast to clean up and brought me a new one, (oopss). We ended up with chocolate desert which was alright but the date was very very nice. Must try out!
